tauruslady Posted July 4, 2008 Share Posted July 4, 2008 Mika was great on Rock Werchter.I don't know the names of all the members, and they have said the name of the big black girl, but I can't remember it. He was really awesome. Even when it started to rain he stayed with his T-shirt out. And he was al wet and then he said something like 'Take that mother nature' It was kinda funny. And his Dutch stays hilarious and soo sweet. At a certain moment he sang 'stuck in the middle' and he wanted that the public repeated him but nobody got it, execpt me of course xp When he played the drumsolo, everybody was going crazy. And his cover of, ( I don't know the name anymore xp) was amaaaazing. And first there were 2 ballerina's in costums, then a monkey and they came Mika. And at the end, Mika putted a head of a cow on the gitarist (with the blue t-shirt) It was really really really great. Oh and the guys who were dressed up like Mika, i didn't know them (they were from the UK) But they were very very nice & fun. I 've also 3 video's but they are filmed with my GSM. So they wont be good. But it's something héa ^^. (I will put them on youtube later) And sorry for my english xp Thanks for that!! ballerinas?! oh it sounds so cool, glad you had fun! After a few hours the first band started playing; Air traffic, nice band, some good songs. Thereafter the Counting Crows. Hmm, had heard a lot about them, but I didn`t really liked them... After that, Mika came on. First 2 persons dressed as a cow and a chicken running over the stage, followed by the 2 lollipopgirls! And then the master himself. Looking good in jeans and a white shirt with braces! The tan and the few pounds more weight fitted him very well!! Relax sounded different, but nice. I did read the first pages of this thread and saw that some said they didn`t liked the keys. Hmm... To be honoust, I don`t think I noticed the different player only at the sound of Relax. I think they changed Relax and that therefore the sound was different and that this difference was not necessary due to the new keyboard player (David/Dave Whitmey). They also had a new background singer, I forget her name, sorry. However, I think she did a great job, especially at the cover, Just can`t get enough. Really nice song!!! Loved it! During the gig, it unfortunatelly started to rain... Pouring rain... However, it could be worse, Mika took out his shirt and started to sing in the rain Not to bad at all Well, I saw that you already had the playlist, so I won`t repeat that. During the songs, nothing really special happened. During Happy Ending a small slip of the tongue. Billy Brown was escorted again by some string girls and a few horn players! At the band introduction he called Martin Mikey They looked at him like he was crazy, but he just continued like nothing happened. Of course the well loved drumming session with Cherisse and another unknown man (at least, unknown for me), so a trio! And last but not least, the confetti during Lollipop. Perfect, everybody soaked from the rain, and they start throwing confetti over the crowd Also the lollipopgirls came back dancing on stage and throwing lollipops into the crowd. Cow and chicken and the big girls also were back on stage and dancing. Mika took the head of the cow and placed it on one of the lollipop girls. Just to summarize, I think it was a good gig. Not because people expect me to say that, but just because that is my opinion. I don`t agree that he sounded nasal, and I think that he played at full strengt, no confessions for Paris the day after. Thank you!! just came back from Werchter. IT'S SOOO GOOD TO SEE MIKA AGAIN!!!!!! I stood in front row to the side and have some pics and a short video of Grace Kelly. He was good, very energetic and his voice was fresh (after all the rest). Can't post more now - have to go to the PARIS CONCERT IN AN HOUR! Really loved it (and him ) but maybe I'm easy to please so ...
