  1. i thought yesterday that the song would stick easily in your head, but although i've listened to it about 10 times yesterday, i can't remember it anymore today. i think it won't become my fave mika song and i hope he has better songs for the singles... also because the video is nice, but not really special, imo. but i'll definitely enjoy hearing myh on the album and won't skip it like i always do with "by the time". though you never know... some songs i only love since seeing them live, e.g. love today. it definitely made me even more curious about the album, and i guess that was the purpose behind this "leak". funny thing is, after hearing this song, it's hard for me to imagine him playing his old songs at the gigs, next to this. maybe rain, but not songs like lollipop or we are golden.
  2. it's been a loooong time since i last said this when looking at a mika pic, but: *faints*.
  3. yeah, i think the song lives from the rhythms more than from the melodies. the rhythm sounds very unusual, i guess it wasn't easy to make this, and probably won't be easy to do live. although it's mainly at the robots voice part, and i guess they won't sing that live.
  4. of course it was private, otherwise mfc would've found it yesterday already. still it's a weird "coincidence" that they upload this video and the next day the song leaks. but whatever, i love the fact that it leaked, and mika is alright with it too, so whether it was on purpose or not i don't care.
  5. ah, now i know what it reminds me of... owl city, fireflies. though i have to admit that currently i like "fireflies" more than the new mika song, also the video... but i've always loved that song, it has something magical (also partly because of the video) that "make you happy" misses. MYH is better to dance to though.
  6. lol, it was already uploaded yesterday... i bet mika wasn't so surprised by the "leak" as he said on twitter. great to see it in hd quality! i'm glad though that it isn't the official music video, like andy said in a tweet before - i like it as a background to the song, but i wouldn't like another (official music) video without mika in it.
  7. like i said on twitter before, i'm not really into this robot voice thing (the first few seconds of the song i was like "ok, i hope this gets better..."), but apart from that, i really like the song. especially towards the end, when it turns so dynamic and has a sort of climax, if you know what i mean. it's a shame really that the chorus is "destroyed" by this robot voice (IMO), but maybe i'll get used to that too. i guess (hope) he won't use robot voices in every song on the album, so i guess i'll be ok with the direction his new music is taking.
  8. yeah, well, i was just referring to what they wrote on fb. what's getting on my nerves about his early performance is that we don't know what will happen after. i love it if my day is pre-planned: hanging out with my mika friends, waiting for the gig, then the gig, then trying to meet mika (not sure if it works at a festival, but at least one can try... ), then sleep. but this way everything is open. mika might come on the circus stage again with jodie harsh, who knows? can i go watch other artists, or watch the german football match at some pub , without having to fear that i might miss mika coming back on the circus stage? this situation bothers me much more than the only-40-minutes gig. i'll get over it eventually, but atm my plans are destroyed and i'll need some time to adjust to the new situation.
  9. yeah, they wrote on fb that he'd put on a special show for that small stage... and the shows on tiny stages that he did so far (like for the radio gigs) always were shorter than the usual ones. so much for the glowstick glasses then. but who knows, maybe a thunderstorm comes when he's on, then it's dark as well.
  10. it also wasn't what i first thought. i'm just prepared for everything.
  11. it's only so early so he can invite us all to his private aftershow party. eloise, where did you find that info? i still don't get how i can find anything on that lovebox website with all those boxes etc.
  12. like i said: we'll get to know a new part of his personality with the new album.
  13. well, it's hard to decide for people on the forum what is important and what isn't... in germany, glee isn't important. i've seen it in the tv programme on one of those second-class-channels that broadcast children's series all day, but never watched it and never read any media articles about it. so when i read on mfc or twitter about getting mika on glee, i thought, why invest time to get him on a program that no one watches? i had no idea that it's such a big thing in other countries. and then you have those votings for twitter, which definitely aren't very important anywhere in the world... it's fantastic that you have the time and energy to find all those voting sites and keep voting regularly, and there was a time (when the last album was out) when i did the same. but most people have so much to do that this voting stuff usually isn't on their minds every day. so maybe if something is really very important like you said it's the case with glee, you should talk to the mfc mods that they open a top news thread about it? this shouldn't happen more than 1-2 times a year, otherwise it gets too much for most people, like on the voting thread. of course you're right, if everyone on mfc voted for a certain thing, we could achieve something. but you can't expect everyone to vote all the time on websites that get only visited by hardcore fans of the artists that are featured there. if something is really relevant, people have to be made aware of the fact that it's not just another one of those "usual" votings.
  14. thanks for posting, marina! well, i guess it reminded him of his own story at that time. i wonder if he decided to open his myspace account and get known via the internet due to this experience.
  15. yeah,it's really interesting how many people who bought licm are totally surprised if i tell them that mika has a 2nd album as well. just recently talked to a guy who said he LOVED licm, but he never heard about tbwktm. unfortunately it's not only a question of what taste the fans or listeners have, but also a question of taste of media people.
  16. btw, i wrote an e-mail to lovebox as i wanted to know whether i can bring plastic bottles with water - their answer: With the exception of sealed bottled water, food and drink is not allowed to be brought onto site. good to know that the bottle has to be sealed.
  17. yeah, belgium last year was fun, i remember we did a choreography with our arms for one of the bands. and i also remember there was one band whose gig i particularly enjoyed, though i can't remember their name now... but it was sad to see that half of the front row just stood there with bored faces, while everyone else was enjoying themselves. despite my aversion to techno, i'm curious about what the performances will be like... i managed to survive a few club nights with dj howard donald (the guy from take that who is also a house dj now) and enjoyed myself there, so who knows, maybe i'll be a house/electro fan after that festival. at least hearing this music for a few hours will make me get so used to it that even if mika's new songs are hardcore electro compared to his old stuff, they'll seem like fluffy soft pop to me.
  18. ok, but it also depends at what times they played it... probably not much at the times where most people listen. if they play it in the middle of the night or in the morning after everyone has gone to work, it's not worth much. and then, compared to the other songs, 20 times in 3 months isn't much at all - they have to play a song at least once a day to make it known to the listeners. in any case, i listen to br3 a lot, and never heard it.
  19. yeah, it's awful if people hang over the barrier like a wet blanket at festivals, it's not nice for the artists that are on before mika, and those who want to enjoy their show. it's ok for a little while if you're tired and can't sit down - but if someone's performing on stage and you're in the front rows, HAVE FUN, FFS! (or at least pretend you do... ) i'll try to avoid walking around too much, as it'll only cost me money i don't have. i saw in a video that they have fair rides, like autoscooter - i love that kinda stuff, but i can't afford going on rides all day! what i'll definitely do though is get some food at that pizza stand, or the italian food stand (see "food" on the lovebox website) - that sounds delicious! ... and i'll need to eat something anyway. not particularly interested in any of the artists that day (except mika of course), but if we ever get information who performs at what time, i might have a look. travelodge... don't remember which one though. it's not too far from the festival, and it's cheap.
  20. damn, i'll have to get drunk - that's the only way how i can endure techno/house/electro music for more than a few minutes! actually it can be quite fun if you're drunk enough and love dancing... i just don't think i can keep that up from noon until whenever mika comes on stage. ... maybe i'll just bring earplugs for the first part of the day. btw, you seen this? ... i hope it doesn't rain during the festival, and at least 3 days in advance!
  21. well, he might indeed have changed a bit since the last album, but i know what you mean, it would be weird if he had a completely different personality now, it'd seem fake. but i don't think so, i guess we'll just see another side of his personality. for example, he once said that when he's at a club he likes to dance to the remixes of his songs, but not the original songs - so maybe his new sound is a bit like his old remixes? i'm glad that he said in that other interview that he tried to add as much soul to the dance music as possible - so i trust him that it'll still sound good even for my ears although i hate that whole techno and electro sound. anyway i'm looking forward to the new side of his personality that we'll get to see with the new album. i think i read of 1 or 2 times fans heard it on a german radio station, but i never did - it definitely wasn't played often here. you generally don't get a lot of french songs on german radio though.
  22. thanx, i think hasi said she'll bring some, but i don't know how many... i'll check with her on twitter.
  23. glasses arrived today. - that was fast... now i only have to buy some glowsticks to try if it works... not sure though if i can bring any glowsticks to london, as i only have hand luggage... do they count as liquids at the airport? it also works if you're wearing normal glasses - the only problem is that those things that should go over the ears are a bit short. but if you fix it with a rubber band (a normal one, or one of those things you attach to glasses during sports etc. so they don't fall off), it works perfectly. i think i'll attach small rubber bands to all the glasses i'm bringing, so everyone can decide whether they want to use them or remove them.
