  1. part 2 about the gig itself, apart from what has already been said, i also remember that at the biotg singing competition this time marie antoinette won, and not the guillotine! dunno if that has been the case at another gig as well, but at least not in liege or compiegne. i was already happy because i was in the guillotine group for the first time, and then our group lost again! arrgh! xD mika was in a fantastic mood, and made lots of eye contact. oh, and he threw his love today blindfold to us, tiibet caught it and let him sign it after the show. btw, we noticed that it smelt quite chemical. he also threw the penguin mask in the crowd, but far behind us. and a rose, that was caught by a guy. and a hat (that had been thrown to him before), that flew back into the space between crowd+stage several times, because too many tried to grab it at once. yasmine threw it back in the crowd, but it kept returning like a boomerang. waiting for the m+g wasn't exactly fun, since it was pouring down, and the security guards had sent us to the end of the street behind barriers. the street was actually not blocked, it was the entrance/exit to the festival grounds (the festival was still open, there was some sort of afterparty for all visitors). the cars were waiting in the street, ca. 50m away from us, and we didn't really expect mika to stop in that weather. when his car came, you could see on his face how he was pondering the alternatives for a second or so, it looked something like "ah damn, i'm tired and i don't want to go out in that weather! ... but it's the last gig, and they've been waiting for me in the rain ... well OK let's do it!", and then he got out. :-D a security guy carried an umbrella for him. he talked to nina and allegra first, then statue, then he signed graciosa's german yearbook, and when he came to me, i asked him whether he got the dmfc yearbook (we sent it to his management in march), and he said he did and that he loved it. i then asked him to sign my mika bag, since it's the end of this album tour. at some point he said something about these gigs feeling like a mini tour. and that he has a gig in sardinia for some rich people, and started to say something nasty about playing to those, but then went like "don't you dare film this!" (or something along those lines... i don't recall any of us filming though... *g*) and said in an acting way "oh, i LOVE playing to those rich people in sardinia!" i also mentioned the korea gig, and he remembered that one too. (on stage he had still said this was the last gig before the release of his 3rd album... *g*). then he went on signing, i filmed a bit (it's quite dark though), and before he went back into his car, he came to our group again, gave statue her marker back that he had borrowed for the signing, and talked a few more words with everyone (of course it was "ciao allegra!" again! ). to me he said thank you for coming and shook my hand with both of his hands. yasmine had gotten out of the car too and took some pix of us. i asked her what they were for, and she said "you'll see!" - guess they might appear on facebook at some point. and something very funny, they had stopped the people coming out of the festival grounds a minute before mika got into the car at the backstage exit, so they wouldn't pass by at this moment - and they held them back the whole time while mika was singing for us! at one point a girl from the festival crew came and told yasmine sth like they should hurry, and yasmine answered, "tell HIM that!" and pointed towards mika. the girl then went on to tell mika, but i think even then it took another 2 minutes or so before he got back into his car... the poor festival guests had to wait for ages! it really was a perfect day (apart from the rain and all the driving to get there), and i already miss my mfc girls! and mika too, it'll be a long cold lonely winter without his gigs. but i'm really happy about this perfect ending for this "mini-tour". :-D
  2. ok, i'll also try a report, had no time yesterday because i was sightseeing in munich with statue of liberty. ;-) most has been said yet, but there are a few more bits+pieces i remembered when reading the other reports. statue, tiibet, graciosa and me arrived from munich shortly before 2... actually we had planned to have a look at the queuing situation and if there weren't too many people (and indeed there weren't, guess it was ca. 10-15) we would've gone to see the rhine falls. but after we had said hello to everyone and looked around the area a bit (the gig place was open to everyone at that time, and we saw the marie antoinette paintings ), we were told we could stay there to watch the soundcheck. of course the rhine falls were forgotten. the band came on and played (iirc it was grace kelly and big girl), and at some point i decided to go to the car, bring a few things there, and put in my contact lenses. when i was almost about to go back, i got a text from statue saying "MIIIKKAAAA!!" and i immediately knew that he must be on stage, so i hurried up to get back! i missed his first song (sitm), but saw the rest of the soundcheck, phew! he interacted with us a few times during the soundcheck... when he sang billy brown, statue and me started waving like during the gig, and that made him laugh. (aww, i love his sweet giggle! ). and something else with dancing, but i'll let statue tell that in her report (which she'll probably post tomorrow). at one point he said sth like "won't you get bored if you see the same show twice in one day?!" - as if!! and the elle me dit story has been told already by mariposa (that's the way i remember it too), but i also remember that when we cheered for his question about doing it in english (i think some of those who were there also said "nooo!", but the majority went "yeeeesss!!"), he said "oh god!" and one or two times (one time was after touches you, and then he did the song again), he said sth like that we were so kind because we were clapping after the song, but that in fact it wasn't good. after the soundcheck we could exchange our tickets into wristbands, and then we crowded around the barriers they had set up at the entrance. security was nice, but you could tell they weren't used to fans as crazy as us. some of them were like OMG when we started running like mad as soon as the doors opened, others made fun of us (but i think that wasn't security guys but other staff, from the bars/sales stands). but they tried (and managed) to organize it all in a good way. all of those who had been crowding around the barriers at the entrance got to front row, and i had a good spot quite close to the centre, on imma's side, between tiibet and statue. the 3 other bands were ok (though this girl from the 2nd band was a bit weird, she looked like kirsten dunst but acted like bjork on drugs ), best one was the rambling wheels imo, they made us sing and dance along. ...tbc...
  3. wow! ok i got another one for you, there's more to see but it's more blurry too, that's why i didn't post it in the first place. but maybe your photoshop magic works on this pic as well?
  4. thanx, you and everyone else for the lyrics! as it was mentioned on the reports thread, we weren't allowed to take the lyrics sheets, but i took a pic of it when they were put on the stage. it's not really readable, but maybe you can make out a few words (or letters) of what's still missing or not clear yet.
  5. what did he say about norway? wasn't ida singing opera in oslo last year? or do i mix that up with another city? i hope none of their friends got hurt by the attacks!
  6. so was *anyone* of the hardcores at this gig at all? looks like no mfcer, but maybe some of the frenchies? if not, this must've been an experience that mika didn't have in a while, a public gig without any familiar faces!
  7. very true, and imo this also might've been a reason why they opened all the doors at the same time in the end. people were already angry because we were let in so late, there was a HUGE crowd, and the barriers weren't suitable for this... i noticed that while people were let in, some of the barriers almost fell because people were pushing against them. so maybe the security guards told the organizers that there'd be a security problem if they opened one door and not the others. the solution would've been very simple, to let the numbered people queue up at an extra entrance, maybe letting them in through the backstage area, like john had done that several times (for example paris bercy, riga). at least the centre queue with the numbered people was the fastest, since they opened 2 gates there instead of just one like for the other queues. we stood in the right queue just a few metres from the gate, and from what i saw, all or at least most of the numbered people were let in before us. well, that didn't help you really much, i just wanted to mention a tiny positive thing in all this mess. unfortunately of course, there were also lots of people who pushed into the centre queue. in any case, i'm glad that i didn't queue early, i'd have been as mad at them as you are - you trusted them, and they let you down massively.
  8. so... where can i buy this song now? on my itunes i can't find it, and on amazon.fr it tells me that i can't download it because i'm not in france. and now? really mika, i'd love to support you by buying your music instead of illegally downloading it, but this doesn't make it easy.
  9. who needs a hotel, you can party all night in ibiza?! could someone please stop me from looking for flights?! but even though i found a relatively cheap one (250 euro), it's still too much. guess it's better this way. here are some more infos: http://www.amnesia.es/ they expect ca. 4,000-6,000 people each evening, and it seems like some of it will be on TV too: The headline sets will be aired in the form of 2 x 1 hour specials called “I WANT MY MTV IBIZA’ on Saturday 6th August at 9pm and Saturday 9th September at 9pm on MTV UK’s premiere music channel; MTV MUSIC (#350) MTV DANCE (#353) incorporating must see live performances, artist interviews and exclusive backstage access. The specials will also be available to view on mtv.co.uk across the summer, with full access to video content, galleries and interviews. MTV Spain will also be promoting the shows across their channels throughout the summer, along with MTV HD broadcasting to 27 Countries
  10. definitely the karen one - and NOT mainly because of the name! it's just WOW, it caught me the moment i first heard it in the compiegne queue during the soundcheck. i love the melody, the rhythm, the changes between slow and fast, and especially that rock guitar sound in the middle. it makes me feel happy, it's stuck in my head since saturday, and i can't get enough of listening to it. it has made it among the top of my fave mika songs from one day to the next. and that's even though it's in french! (there were times when i'd have rather eaten my socks than voluntarily listened to any french music...) p.s. now i should only start finding out what the lyrics are about!
  11. no time for big report now, we're in liege in the hotel foyer because our room is only ready from 2pm, and already getting curious looks here. anyway, i loved the outfits, i think mika looked fab, also his hair (though i know some don't agree with me there, right statue? ), and martin too, and imma... wonderful outfits! first, what i didn't like so much was that mika didn't play piano at all. :-( i also had the feeling that he was more quickly exhausted because he kept running around all the time instead of sitting down at the piano for a few songs. he was in a great mood though, making jokes and all. before he sang that weather song, he first talked in french but forgot the french words and continued in english, ending with sth like "ok, i'll sing one song, and then another one!" and he killed the band during LT not with a gun this time, but with a rapier (is that the right word? that thing the musketeers use. ). i loved both new songs, especially karen - not just because it sounds like my name (although mariposa told me that the lyrics are something i wouldn't want to be written about me! ), but because it's just a fab song! ... and that's although it's in french. but i also loved that weather song, such a beautiful ballad! the piano bits sound like a christmas song, i can totally imagine that to be a christmas single! and of course i also loved elle me dit live, mika was on fire! he signed autographs after the show, but didn't stop for long with anyone, since there was quite a crowd. oh, and it seems that during the biotg singing-competition he mentioned my german flag which i had waved before (i actually wanted to buy a pompom with german colours, but since i couldn't find one i bought the flag instead and wrote we are golden on it)... but i didn't get it, damn language barriers! ok my battery's almost empty now, will be back tomorrow. ;-)
  12. ooh, david is on tour with take that? great, then i'll see him at least, if not jimmy and john! who is on keyboards and bass now? i didn't see it clearly in the pix/videos... is the keyboard guy the one who already replaced david in arbon? and is the bass player anyone we know? (dan?) did mika introduce the band? i don't have time to look through all the videos, did he also talk a bit with the crowd, or was it just the usual stuff (like "good evening" "scream!" "jump!" )? is the setlist similar to last year's? which is the first song? i have to say that i hate such huge rings on guys (well ok, also on girls...), it makes them look macho, in a very negative way! hope mika gets rid of that ring until compiegne. and i also hope that he'll sing more new songs there, not just elle me dit. i hope we'll hear at least one of the english ones! p.s. thanx for all the pix+videos!
  13. i know what you mean, i don't like french either and don't like it if i don't understand what he sings/says. but nevertheless i love the song. my french pronounciation sounds more like german (if it sounds like anything at all... ), but i still managed to learn the lyrics of french GK for the gigs last year, so at least i could move my mouth and pretend i was singing along. and what happened? mika forgot the lyrics! i also remember that the boyband worlds apart, whom i was a fan of in the 90s, started having great success in france, and they released a song half french half english. i loved it, and also managed to learn the lyrics, though i couldn't pronounce the french parts. but listening to the song about a hundred times makes your pronouncation get close to what it should sound like. the bad thing with worlds apart was that they didn't have success in other countries than france anymore, so they were just touring there, and not in germany anymore. if that happened with mika, i'd be really sad and disappointed as well. but at the moment i think we're still far from that point - although of course i also would've preferred him to come to zurich, instead of having to go to 2 gigs in french-speaking areas. but remember luxemburg? he spoke french there too, but still it was fantastic. in any case, i don't think mika would've released a single now for all of europe - so this isn't a replacement for something, but an extra that we get. it's also better imo that he releases a bonus track now, instead of already releasing songs that will be on the (normal) album, like he did the last time on the songs for sorrow EP. i hope though, that he will play 1 or 2 of the english songs from his next album at the gigs. i definitely disagree with the bolded sentence. no country deserves mika more than another one! of course we have to live with the fact that he prefers certain countries (especially france, since he is very successful there), but i think in europe we can't complain, compared to other parts of the world. btw, i really hope that we in fact CAN buy the song as a download, and it won't just be available in france!
  14. hmm, but their countdown says that it starts at 9am, if i counted correctly? and i think you have to register on that site? ah well, i just hope they play the full song on the radio!
  15. it was from the same interview like this one: http://www.youtube.com/user/AlloMusicCom#p/u/5/dGPZw30sQ7Y, also posted by allomusic, named "teaser mika". like i said, it was mainly the kick ass video, but with a short clip of that interview in the middle of it, but a part that wasn't in the other interview. mika said a few words, which i didn't understand, and he pulled a face and giggled. damn, i should've saved it on my pc! just click on "ecouterNRJ" on the top right.
  16. #Mika est à Paris demain et en direct à 8h05 sur @NRJhitmusiconly , 8h55 sur @RTL2officiel et à 10h sur @VirginRadiofr !! #ellemedit looks like i'll be getting up early tomorrow. but glad that it's in the morning, i'll be away most of the afternoon! edit: off to eat something now, finally!
  17. pff, it'll be only tomorrow. btw, they're still gaining new followers by the minute. connection there?
  18. no wireless internet at home. i could take my mobile phone, but it isn't as fast as my pc. btw, while we'Re waiting, just found this, it was uploaded on youtube just a few minutes ago - it's mainly the KA video, but with a short mika clip in the middle. i don't get what he says, but i love his face expression and giggle! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GS9HdYFql_E
  19. great, now my neighbours are making dinner so it smells like food here, and i haven't eaten anything since breakfast, but i don't want to leave the pc now! *bad dilemma*
  20. what about those marie antoinette jokes? i think i've missed them. (well, i know about the marie antoinette theme for compiegne, but i've missed the jokes... )
  21. labelbarclay: pour l'écoute du single #ellemedit de Mika il va finalement falloir être plus patient... more patience?! :sneaky2:
  22. thanx, but it doesn't show me the video in my country. 5000. pfft, over half an hour isn't "a few minutes" to me!
