Bear in mind that normally there are 100+ sites per server, we will have one to ourself The bad news is that the forum will be offiline for a bit tomorrow, but after that it should be flawless.

Good question. When you have a thread with 10,000 replies, we readers only see one page at a time, but the server has to load EVERY page within that thread. So basically a thread with 10,000 replies is a nightmare for the server. Bear in mind many entire forums don't have 10,000 posts.

Also, please note that we will NOT be deleting ANY of the threads. We are simply closing them for now, and we are going to create a section for the mega threads (archive section). Kinda like a museum of the best threads on the net.

Hi guys, You may have noticed that for the past hour or two the forum has been having problems. It appears that it is YOUR fault I will explain... Most forums are nowhere near as big or popular as MFC, so it is not normal to have threads with more than 1,000 replies. Here at MFC we have numerous threads with over 10,000 replies This has been battering the server for weeks. Anyway, to solve the problem, we have closed all the mega threads. But do not panic! We are going to create PART 2 threads for them.... e.g The oldings thread PART 2, the dutch thread part 2 etc,,,, Make sense? So it seems that you guys and gals are simply too hardcore for the Internet. Thanks for your patience and understanding in this matter. PM Freddie with any questions. URGENT We need the people who created the MEGA threads to create the PART 2 threads. e.g Freddie is opening the new bar... So if you are the creator of a mega thread, then please create a new thread 1) Same title, but add "Part 2" 2) Copy across the entire first post, or any lists that you will need etc... 3) if you can't access the first posts, then PM Freddie and he will send it to you. Just to clear things up. 1) Being official DOESN'T mean more money. 2) Being official would provide more publicity for MFC. 3) It would allow us to do MFC interviews with Mika, exclusive comps, etc... 4) We would still retain full control. Nobody from Universal etc would have any moderating permissions. I hope this helps.

We are very pleased to announce that we have 3 new moderators here at MFC. So from now on the moderators will be: Freddiesdouble DCdeb Nico-Collard Happikali Sivan has been promoted to the official Mika graphics expert. Please also note that there are new guidelines for the moderators. From now on the mods will aim to take things a little easier. This means that they will aim to not over-moderate, not delete all sexual comments, allow arguements to be settled by themselves, and only interfere in serious circumstances. We are keen to let the conversation flow as freely as possible. We appreciate that some users are under 18 and under 16, but it is the responsibility of those members to be mature and avoid any threads for over 18's. Just a quick point.... the donating is not to the MFC team, it is to pay for the HUGE hosting costs of maintaining this site.

The MFC team have managed to acquire the domain name: http://www.mikamaniacs.com (Mika Maniacs.com) It would be a shame to have such a cool domain name and not use it, so we are looking for suggestions and ideas for what to do with the domain. Perhaps a special membership site? A mika video site? Mika picture site? Mika social network? Mika news site? We are open to ANY idea. So be creative, think what would interest you, entertain you, amuse you, be useful to you etc... If you don't want to post your ideas on this thread, simply PM me instead. Also, depending on the project, we may need staff to help run the site, so feel free to also list your skills, or ways that you feel you may be able to help: examples: Perhaps you are good with graphics, writing, creating videos at YouTube.com, perhaps you spend all day reading celeb sites and would like to share your knowledge with us, perhaps you are good at marketing, perhaps you have rich parents who want to invest in the project this thread is one giant brainstorming session, no idea is too crazy! hi guys. I just want to assure you all that the admin team of myself, Mikablog and Sunny are all 100% behind this petition. However, it is important that you know the full scale of what we are dealing with here... Mikasounds is NOT run by Mika, it is run by a record label and the marketing people associated with it. They care about one thing... MONEY. At MFC we care about Mika, we don't even make a profit from this site, and donations just about cover the expenses. MFC and Mikasounds live in two different worlds, we all know who is most important, but as long as Mika is contracted to them, we are unlikely to be the official site. I challenge Mika and his team of "marketing people" to do the right thing and make MFC the official forum. Mika reads this forum, I have evidence. It is BY FAR the biggest Mika sites on the net, and is one of the fastest growing music sites on the net. They should NOT take us for granted. The admin team at MFC is willing to remain non-profit, and are willing to continue to put Mika first and money last. Can MikaSounds.com say the same??? So what can we do??? One option is to create accounts at Mikasounds forum and use links to MFC as your signature... this way we get more links and publicity to MFC. But most importantly we get the attention of the forum owners. Perhaps use the Link text: "Official Mika Fan Site?" and link to http://www.mikafanclub.com Another option is to try and get top 10 for the google search term "Mika". If you own a blog, post at forums, have a myspace page etc... then you can link to http://www.mikafanclub.com with the text "Mika" More links = More chance. Sivan - Great work. We will add them to the US and European/UK stores. Mika WON'T have any problem with us doing this, in fact, I think he will love them. I may even send him one of the t-shirts with Sivans design on it. I will be making t-shirts, mugs, stickers and all the usual products with these two designs on them.
