I went on stage in Chicago yesterday as a Lollipop girl! It was so much fun!

Amanda: Great report!!! And since i had nearly the same expericence, I'll just add my two cents into it. I arrived at the HOB around 4:45 ish. I was the first lollipop girl to get there, and so i just waited on a bench for some time. Then around 5:10ish (?) Christina came, and we chatted for a while. 10 minutes after that Emily came, and then we waited for Amanda. After Nady came and got us we went to the little room. It was really cold in there, and cellphones had absoluetly NO reception. But eh, it was fine. Mikey came in and we all said stuff like "Hey, how you doing?" and he gave a quick reply and left. Nadya gave us our all access passes, which is so much fun to have! You can walk around and when people look at you and ask you questions, you show it to them and BAM! Instant access Anywhere! lol. It was great getting to meet the others (Christina, Emily, and Amanda, and the Big Girl (i dont think we ever asked her her name )) When we went up to get dressed, Yasmine was hemming up one of Saranayde's big dresses (the missionary man one i think). Also, in that basket of silver shoes and socks was a pair of his underwear. that would have made an excellent souveneir! The one thing that i kept thinking up until i had the pink dress on and a pink bow in my fake blond hair was: I can not beleive this is actually happening to ME! After swithcing my really short dress with Christina we went back down to the small room. haha, there was this guy that would walk in the room and just go "WOAH! THAT IS TOO MUCH PINK! MY EYES! It looks like a Smurf exploded!" haha. We had to wait a while before going behind stage to watch the show. The love today trash can and flowers hid us, but also disrupted our view. Big girl was with us that whole time, and she did a great job during Big Girl. There was an elevator behind us while we were watching, which would open and shut at various times, people would be walking behind us all the time, and it was slight aggitating. During Any Other World, it sunk into my mind that I was experiencing something very few people get to experience. I started to tear up a bit, i always do, when the crowd sang along with him and he looked genuinely happy. During Love Today when Mika was standing on the drums, we really did have the best view!!! His face was great! He looked so ammused and almost giddy! Dancing on stage during lollipop was phenominal!! I had so much fun and i wasnt nervous at all! Except that during the "Woah-ohh Woah-ohh Woah-ohh Lollipop!" bit someone hit my wig and it fell off!!!!! But it was ok i think. After getting our costumes off and going to the room i stuck my head out of a side door so i could call my mom and tell her i'd be a few minutes, mika was going to come down and see us. When i finally got through to her cell, a guy goes "Are you one of the Lollipop girls waiting to see Mika?" and i reply "Yeah" to which he says "Oh. He's just went in there now" And i thought he was joking. So i just turned around and was completely surprised to actually see Mika in the room with us. I think i may have said "Oh, he's here." but i'm not sure. When the other lollipop girls were done giving mika his gifts (christine gave him so good tea, Emily gave him some amazing drawings which he said were "not crap" and a giant lollipop, he turned to me. He looked at me for a second and i looked at him. And i said "I'm sorry, I don't have anything for you!" He just said "Aww it's Ok and gave me a sort of half hug. I got a picture with him, and a few others that ill share in a bit. Last night was truly incredible. I had never met Mika before, so being able to go and dance with him on stage and have such a lovely private meeting afterwards was just fantastic.

Ok, I don't have much time for a full report so here's a summary: I was a lollipop girl with Christina, Emily, and Amanda. We all got to go backstage and watch the concert from there. Everyone who works with Mika is SO nice!! Everytime one of the band members or Mika would walk in i would be eating my crackers, drinking water, or on the phone! Going on stage was incredible. We met Mika afterwards, got pictures with him, gave him gifts (i didnt, i didnt have anything!) and got signatures. Ill be back this afternoon for more a more detailed report.

ahh! This weather is freaking me out!!! I hope there's no problem with the band and Mika getting here! ugh! It's too much for me to handle! And all the lollipop girl confusion is driving me BATTY!

well, she called me on saturday, and since my phone was dead i didnt hear her message until sunday morning, but i called her right away, and she said i was the first to call back (?) unless she was still confused. Uhm. she told me to be there around 5:30ish, also that mika and the gang are still stuck in NY due to flight delays, and that it would be me and two other girls on stage. Last night she was slow to call people back because she was watching the super bowl, uhm. And obviously that i was chosen to be a lollipop girl in Chicago. And im sure that at first she knew I wasnt you, because i forgot to mention my name in the e-mail i sent in. That's all the important stuff, but there were a lot of little things that we already knew. (Woo Hoo!!!! 100th post!!!)

ooh Mandilambi, i should probably mention my name is also Amanda, but i mentioned to her there was another amanda that also was a lollipop girl.

she said she would call back after she flew in, and im sure there are some flight delays today with all this crazy fog!

ooo four lollipop girls in chicago now!! It's gonna be so fun!!! But you other LG's havent gotten calls yet? Ugh! I am so worried though, she told me there were only going to be two, and she said she would call me back today after her flight got into Chicago and after she checked out the venue (my parents want to go with, but want to be backstage somewhere, so if they need to find me they can, ugh! why do i have to be young!) I am just worried that she will call someone else instead of me.

Omg!! Four lollipop girls for Chicago?!! Oh, and sorry i left so suddenly, House M.D. was on. I am worried though, my parents (im under the age of 18) are all like "Oh, well if the weather is too bad i dont know if we can make it" BUT they took off work just for me, so it should be ok. AHH i can't wait!

AH! I am going!!!! I found out today from Nadja that i am going to be a lollipop girl on Tuesday! i dont have tickets, but she said she could get me one. I am completely stunned. I was not expecting this! AH!

Omg. This is sweet!! Do you have to have a ticket in order to be a LP girl though? I don't have a ticket to Chicago, but my parents would let me go if i had a reason. If i get picked im afraid the dress will be too small for me....

--I was at Target once, and that commercial for the iPhone came on, the one that shows the cover of LICM for about two seconds, and i noticed it, stared at the tv screen, and ran into a person. --I saw Love Today on a tv screen (at target again) and i knocked over a display!!! and ran! --I stopped in the middle of a busy walkway at a mall because as i walked past the Gap i heard the first notes of "Relax" and ran into the store. --Tripped on some guy sitting on stairs at my school because my friend said "I had chicken last night for dinner. It was good!!!":roftl:

As to "what would a parrot say", my Budgies (Lenny and Monty) always attempt to actually sing grace kelly, its so funny!!! They both talk quite well and pick up on songs quite easily (they know frosty the snowman, waltzing matilda, jesus loves me etc.) They try to mumble the words to the song, and when the high notes come they start shreaking! hehe. They can say "Mika" though. it is quite amusing.
