  1. oo thank you! yea you can tell how the song didnt fit with some of what was going on. like the girl in the hosiptal scene? she is definitely not feeling golden right about then... at around 3:23 in the video they like spliced the song and mika hits a whopping high note haa earlier in the episode the girl (emily i think) who they were cheering for in the beginning, was trying to pick a song for her floor routine and was mad at what her coach picked and she was gonna go back to the old song, and i totally thought she was gonna do her floor routine to WAG buttttt nopes. still loved it.
  2. ergh. gosh, one more year and i'd be in the clear for these kind of spontaneous weekday concerts. thanks though!
  3. oh apparently they do. and that show is crazy. every other word out of their mouths is about sex. i understand that's the point, but its kinda awkward to watch, especially when parents are in the room haha
  4. im excited and a little depressed because so many shows are on weeknights and some people have school!! but I really wanna try for the boston show. my friend lives up there now for college so it might work out *crosses fingers* anyone (well actually a lot of you would probably know..) know how long mika's shows last? or what time they usually start? considering I probably have to book it back home after the show to go to school >.<
  5. i actually watched the show just for this! and they played the whole song including part that sounded like it was from the acoustic version where he does an epic scale with the choir in the background... but it was at the end of the episode and they just played it all the way through the end... even when it didn't fit in with what was going on in the episode (like when some girl was in the hospital after ruining her gymnastics career ) but i got really excited and it made that hour of watching useless tv worth it
  6. i've watched a few (well, like one) episode of that show and it's... ok just a random off-season series but now I have something to look forward to this monday night! thanks!
  7. The day may be over now but I celebrated by making a cake! on sunday... oh well. I remembered sunday that his birthday was the 18th so i wrote his name on it and my friends ate it ^.^ Then today I completely forgot but my friend played LiCM in her car during our shopping journey and the coincidence is just hitting me now. We even talked about WAG and TBWKTM and nothing clicked that the meeks is 25! oh well. I think I did my share. Happy Birthday now because I know you had one! He's probably still partying actually
  8. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HeovL3Ojta8 If you ignore the three nimrods in the beginning you can hear the opening of the chorus a few minutes in when they really start the show in this video.
  9. HAHA i knew it! <-- as I shout so to my mom haha I was watching..idk why really, it all makes me gag.... but im humming along to the intro-outro music before commercials and im like. wait. "teenage dreams in a teenage circus...." Then i hear the one guitar riff in the whole song and I go IT HAS TO BE MIKA. Then I stick it out to the end of the credits and it says *"WE ARE GOLDEN" by MIKA* Then I shout my "I KNEW IT!!!" for the 5th time and run downstairs to post this I just wish they didn't dub out the lyrics :/ They were playing more of it at the end of the show and I was like Dude, we need that choir in here so bad right now! "WE ARE NOT WHAT YOU THINK WE ARE, WE ARE GOLDEN!! WE ARE GOLDEN!!":naughty:
  10. ok I will eventually listen to that song because it sounds like it will be amazing and pittsburgh is lucky to have heard it!! (update: that song is so amazing!! I want a clearer version now!! and it's stuck in the loop in my head with WAG now ) what *kind* of stuffed animals, perse? ok well here's my story! I went to see Green Day with 6 of my friends on July 20, in Boston and I made these miniature sock monkeys so they looked like each of the members of Green Day. I got inspired by some photo and story I saw about a Flight of the Conchords sock monkey someone made (I loves me some FOTC, too ^^) and I thought it was *adorable*. At the show, my friends and I held my monkeys the whole time... Until I threw one out of impulse (mike dirnt) on stage and hit billie joe. But he caught it! I THINK he threw it backwards (but youtube videos show that the monkey probably went back into the crowd. I morn the loss-- twas my favorite monkey! (and band member haha)) because then my friend Kayla followed suit and threw tre cool up there too and some techie picked it up. I hope that one didn't go back into the crowd. I worked forever on those and I love them. Then, when they started playing "Are We the Waiting", Billie Joe came down the runway and reached out for the billie joe monkey I still had and he couldn't reach it (even thought we were on the barrier) so I tossed it to him. He caught it and ran to the microphone and sang with the monkey!! Then he made it wave its arms in front of all those people(over 13,000 effing people!). I almost died. I started tearing up. Then he came back and threw it back at me. I was like "no you keep it!" but it was too late. If I threw it back, it'd get lost forever. During the whole concert kayla and I were trying to get his attention by pointing and waving the monkeys and it finally paid off. Before we got inside the venue earlier that day, some tour person saw them and took a picture with her blackberry and sent the image to the boys. Then once we were inside waiting for the show to start, some Boston Globe reporter took quite a few pictures and wrote down our names. I spent the whole day before the concert making these (talk about procrastination) but it was so worth it!! alright um pictures... monkeys morning before concert (we left MADDD early so we could get our will call tix and then get first row of the pit---best way to do it though) This one is from the effing Green Day website!! and then this is during "Are We the Waiting" needless to say, it was the best concert ever. They are an amazing band with so much history and love of what they're doing it really shows on stage. If you ever get the chance to see them live, it will be well-worth your time. (and they're all so much cuter in real life XD)
  11. HA! that was amazing! I noticed the guy that played Sulu was in that clip too! hollywood is such a small world.
  12. Also I want to say that pic of you and Demetri is so cute and you're so lucky to have met him! I'm glad he was so nice in person. On his dvd in the outtakes and extras when he was interacting with the audience he seemed so easygoing and nice. and I also noticed Bret from Flight of the Conchords on the cover of that book. VERY dreamy. Demetri and Bret = :wub2: haha. Gotta love the cuties of comedy!
  13. So the morning after I had my latest Mika dream, I was all set to turn on my computer and write about it so I didn't forget--but that was over a week ago. Anyway, I remember parts of it: I remember I was on stage with Mika. It was sort of like the Parc des Princes stage, like that size (minus the fancy decorations) but there were those acrobats... and women flying in on ropes and wires in flowy skirts. And I was just chillin' on stage. I'm not sure which song was playing but I started to interpretive dance to it. One of my friends was there (who's a guy) and he was dancing too . Mika just kept on singing. But the most vivid thing I remember is me and my friend doing interpretive dance moves to one of Mika's songs. On stage in front of thousands of people.
  14. I just wanna pull away from the :mf_lustslow: over JJ and Zach for oneee minute (haha sorry ) and say how excited I was to see Simon Pegg up there as Scotty. I love him. ("Shaun of the Dead" = Outrageously funny and cute)I really wanna see how he turns out as Scotty in future films.
  15. Ahh! Star Trek!! Ha so my dad and I have a bond with this show... I was actually named after the character Deanna Troy So naturally we made it a date to see the new film and it ROCKED. ZQ is definitely adorable in this... much more than he was in Heroes. You don't know how bad I wanted Sylar to die in that show haha but I love it anyway
  16. mmm.. I see your point. and we know that Mika like's Nilsson, well he sang "Everybody's Talkin'". Awesome connection. Nilsson aint bad
  17. oh! also, a while ago I found these nifty converses that Tokyo Police Club designed for Converse's (RED) campaign or something...where a portion of the proceeds went to...fight AIDS. yea that was it: http://www.converse.com/#/products/Shoes/ConverseRED/107364 There was a whole paragraph about why TPC made this design...something about Dave liking constellations but since the promo for them is over it's disappeared. ha. I loveeee converses but 80 (well now 50 ish) dollars is outta my price range. oh well.
  18. Did they play at the festival? In A Cave is awesome. Kind of reminds me of the whole Benjamin Button thing where he's aging backwards as he walks on. *shrugs*. anyway... haha They're always so willing to play new stuff live. They don't care that no one knows the words, but it's always so dance-able and awesome that no one cares. Their debut came out like last year and they're already recording new stuff. I'm stoked to say the least.
  19. Dave is so sweet and his hair is awesome. His voice is just This video proves it: It's him playing Acoustic for Tesselate.
  20. well, i wrote them a confessional/apologetic email once about how I forgot their name and basically their existence when i was talking to one of my friends about music. I felt so bad. haha i don't know why. so, now I owe them. But they actually replied saying my email cracked them up I saw them in february at the first show of their tour this year so i think we're on good terms now. And they rock live of course
  21. I was just about to go searching for a Tokyo Police Club thread! They own a part of my soul They have such an interesting sound and they're all so adorable.
  22. ahh me too! already set it as my facebook status . but they're really so truthful and beautiful.
  23. trying to get ready for school... but I just broke my hairbrush I was so excited :roftl: eeeeeee
  24. Demetri Martin is my absolute FAVORITE comedian. Plus he's pretty fricken adorable. His show only had 8 episodes and the season's over, but I'm sure you could find episodes online. I'm also stoked that he's going to be in so many movies, like "Taking Woodstock" and "Paper Heart" and he was in a few episodes of Flight of the Conchords (who you should also check out ) and the Rocker, which was kind of silly but so what haha. He came around my area like 3 times one weekend and I couldn't go because it sold out so quickly. :/ But I've basically memorized all his jokes but still laugh everytime I hear them. Therefore, this thread makes me happy
