I am trying to lose weight before I have to go back to school too. I could definitely be trying harder... I think in my case though, my goal weight was a little too unrealistic. I lost a lot of weight earlier this past year, and for a while it had been pretty stagnant. But I don't think I should be gaining again either. Anyway, good luck.

I just saw this tonight on television and then spent a good 10 minutes laughing my head off... So, I looked it up and found it on youtube. aww he looks like a child. did anyone happen catch the performances or his acceptance speech on video?

i think i remember him saying in the muchmusic interview that "stuck in the middle" was about his mother and grandmother and growing up. personally, i've always thought it had to do with him being "stuck in the middle" of what is expected out of him and his own decisions. like, he is caught between differences of what his parents think/want and what he thinks/wants. the way i interpret it is he is growing up, and like he said in the interview, comes to the realization that parents are people too. like, that sounds dumb, but seeing them in a different more "adult" light. i don't know if that makes sense. but it's just what i get from the song.. especially reading these lyrics: I look at you, You look at me, We bite each other. And with your bitter words you kick me in the gutter. But my troops are bigger than yours You'll never stand my fight. Ours is a family that's based upon tradition But with my careless words I tread upon your vision. This is just who I am, This ain't a greater plan to break your heart over me. i'm not sure if there is an actual procedure. i think this thread is just to post/update on how your weight loss is coming along and so people can offer one another support/advice etc.

personally, i don't think any of his current band members will be contributing to his albums. they are very talented musicians, but i think in terms of mika's career they are just his live band.

i know i'm relatively new here on mfc, but in all honesty, i haven't noticed much negativity. but, it's maybe because i haven't been on here long enough or know exactly how different mfc was 12 months ago (or maybe that i am also a little oblivious). i will say though, that the "atmosphere" when i joined was very welcoming and i still feel that way. also, i know the point of this thread has to do with mfc specifically, but in comparison with A LOT of other forums people here are LOADS more respectful to one another. this isn't the first messageboard i've joined, and trust me, some of the other ones (even moderated ones) people can be absolutely VICIOUS to one another. i wish i could just tell everyone "don't take things too seriously, it's just the internet", but i know that would be a somewhat ignorant statement...
