  1. I've heard a fair amount of people on the forum say that they were disappointed with the studio versions because they weren't as good as the acoustic versions, and (at the risk of being partisan) I can't say I disagree. But this reminds me of a similar rift among the fanbase of Regina Spektor when her new abum came out in June. When her last album came out, everyone loved it. Then they heard the live versions which were a thousand times better. Then by the time her latest album was released we had heard most of those songs live which led to a lot of disappointment because everyone expects the studio versions to be of better quality, when really they're just clogged with unnecessary instruments. (did i say this story was similar? more like exactly alike.) I guess this sort of thing happens to every artist. So, what are you're thoughts on studio vs. acoustic versions?
  2. Awwww! he did that? i feel bad now.... sorry Mika:tears:
  3. what worries me isn't "is he being made to do these gimmics?" its "does he want to do these gimmics?" who knows? it's not like any of us knows the guy.
  4. So lately I've been really annoyed with Mika I know no one wants to read a thread like this just when we're all excited about the new album but keep reading! It gets better, trust me. So I’ve just been fed up with all the gimmicks (Mika’s Magic #’s, the “naked vlog” thing). But I found out a couple weeks ago that one of the girls I drive to school with is a Mika fan and I didn’t even know! So she was really excited about the new album and I was excited too, but I still felt the sting of how annoying it had all been lately. I wish I could blindly love Mika like she did (I guess I really am a fan who knows too much). So on the day of the album release when I stopped to pick her up I was sad that I wouldn’t really be able to share her excitement. But then a little song called Waking Up in Vegas by Katy Perry came on the radio, and I remembered this dream I had a couple months ago where Mika and I were just dancing around to this song. And right then, a nanosecond before my friend got into the car, I remembered what I loved about Mika: the fun. And just at the right time I was able to get back to that Mika-loving mood I missed (although it was weird getting there via Katy Perry) and I was finally be able to be as excited as my friend was. Then I silently thanked about a billion people: Mika, Katy Perry, My friend, the radio DJ who decided to play that song at the opportune moment. True story du jour.
  5. I didn't read the article, but there was a picture in it of him holding hands with his boyfriend, so I guess that answers it.
  6. My friend was gawking over Adam in Rolling Stone. She said this: "A really hot gay guy is God's cruelest gift." but I am really excited to hear what comes out of his studio!
  7. Me: (singing WAG)Teenage dreams in a teenage circus Running around like a clown on purpose Who gives a damn about the family you come from No giving up when youre young and you want some! Sister: does that mean what I think it means?
  8. here's one that happened to me: You know you're a Mika fan when you're finding an outfit for the first day of school and you're wondering if the yellow shoes are too much. Then you say to yourself: "Your an MFCer. The words 'too colorful' are not in your vocabulary."
  9. This is the remix used for background music in the Parc des Princes documentary.
  10. sorry for the "hip-hop beat" confusion, it was for lack of a better word. And I shouldn't have rushed to judgement...I get carried away sometimes.
  11. Rain was an insane disappointment for me. so was I See You. That would have been a great song without that "hip-hop beat" in the background. It seems that all the songs on the radio have that. Its just not neccesary. I also regret to say that I hated the album version of Blame it on the Girls. Good thing I have an acoustic recording. in conclusion: I want to hear music not computers! Good news is he stayed true to quality pop in We Are Golden, Good Gone Girl, Dr. John, Blue Eyes, and Pick up off the Floor:thumb_yello: If only his whole album were closer to those songs...
  12. I checked it. If Loverboy is only a bonus track on the UK version I will go insane! I can't buy anything in pounds!!!!!!!!!!
  13. I'm really confused. I don't know which version to get. 1. I definitely want it in print. so i guess itunes is out. 2. I have the PdP dvd, so I could care less about those performances on some versions. 3. Loverboy is an absolute must! I definitely want the Sadlers Wells performance. But the problem is that the neither of the editions on US Amazon have Loverboy or Sadlers Wells! please help!
