Une façon pour vous de vous exprimer… Absolument. Ça, ça ne change vraiment pas. Du moins pas pour l’instant. Quand j’écris, quand je compose, c’est comme si j’étais transparent. J’ai le courage d’écrire des choses que je ne peux pas faire, ni dire dans ma vie normale. Je peux même explorer des choses qui me dérangent et surtout, ça m’aide à gérer ma vie ! Du coup, lorsque j’écris, je me sens mieux. C’est un drôle de sentiment mais je pense que tout le monde l’a en commun. Ça donne un sentiment de valeur. On devient très facilement addict… Est-ce ce sentiment et ce besoin qui vous ont poussé à sortir votre premier album, en 2007. Un opus dans lequel vous abordez des sujets de société… En fait, ce sont des sujets qui font partie de ma vie. Ce ne sont pas des sujets que j’ai choisis, comme ça, au hasard. Mais des sujets que je dois gérer, que je dois comprendre et qui me tiennent à cœur. Quand j’écris, j’ai le sentiment d’appuyer sur « pause » et d’arrêter le temps. Et lorsqu’on regarde mes albums, on peut suivre les changements dans ma vie. Dans le deuxième, on ressent la peur d’avoir trop partagé ; dans le troisième, ce sont des moments difficiles, douloureux. Dans le quatrième, on est comme après l’orage du troisième, comme si les choses commençaient à se rouvrir. Mais oui, j’avoue que mes albums sont un reflet de ma vie, avec ses bons et ses mauvais moments. Un processus de création qui vous aide, visiblement, à surmonter les épreuves… Oui, c’est ça. Et je sais que pouvoir faire ça est un privilège. Lorsqu’on grandit dans une famille comme la mienne, avec ce côté oriental et cette pudeur héritée, si on parle de notre vie, de notre travail, c’est comme si on lavait notre linge sale publiquement. Alors qu’en fait, ce n’est pas vrai, c’est une chose importante, il faut le faire sans avoir honte. Plus jeune, lorsque je chantais des chansons écrites par d’autres j’étais déçu, ma voix était trop particulière, ça ne fonctionnait pas. Du coup, j’ai écrit mes propres compositions et ça m’a aidé, je peux écrire et chanter sur ce que je veux. Ça a ouvert quelque chose de plus important. Quoi qu’il arrive, vous renvoyez l’image d’une personne joyeuse. Ce que l’on retrouve, d’ailleurs, dans vos mélodies et dans vos clips… La patte Mika ? Je ne vois pas ça comme ça, comme une marque. Quand je suis fâché, je l’exprime aussi honnêtement que quand je suis content ! Je souris uniquement lorsque je me sens libre… Etre libre est ce qui me procure le plus de joie… Je pense que le job que j’ai aujourd’hui est un énorme privilège parce que je me sens libre. Et je pense que ça m’a adouci. J’ai un agenda quatre fois plus chargé qu’avant mais mon cœur est quatre fois plus léger ! Je ne gaspille pas mon énergie. Un agenda chargé dans lequel figure The Voice. Un programme dans lequel vous exprimez également cette liberté. Est-ce que cette participation vous apporte un plus, d’un point de vue artistique ? Oui, absolument. Et les gens qui disent que ce n’est pas vrai sont des menteurs. Ceux affirmant que participer à un tel programme n’est pas puissant, sont en train de mentir. C’est à la fois puissant et extrêmement dur. Si je l’avais fait il y a cinq ans, ça n’aurait pas été bon pour moi parce que je n’étais pas prêt. La télévision agit comme un révélateur. On rentre dans le salon des gens, on fait partie de leur famille une fois par semaine. C’est un truc de dingue ! Et là, il ne faut rien avoir à cacher. Pour moi, ma vie publique a totalement dépassé l’évolution de ma vie privée. Et j’ai dû joindre les deux. The Voice, qui est un programme où l’on parle beaucoup, m’a permis de montrer qui j’étais dans le privé. Ça, ça simplifie ma vie. Votre entrée dans le programme a été fracassante puisque c’est un de vos talents, Kendji Girac, que vous avez rapidement repéré, qui a remporté la troisième saison… Comme le disent mes racines, Inch’Allah, si Dieu le veut. Quand on voit quelqu’un comme Kendji, son histoire, son parcours, ce gosse qui a souffert de la discrimination à l’école, qui n’a pas été éduqué comme les autres et qui n’avait pas les mêmes chances, et qui se retrouve là, seul, à chanter… Je suis le seul à me retourner, lorsque j’entends le clash entre la musique pop française, sa culture et le son de sa voix, je ne savais pas s’il était vieux ou s’il était jeune. Et je prends ce risque… Je pense que c’était écrit. Je ne suis qu’une toute partie de son histoire. Un choc des cultures qui vous ressemble et sur lequel vous jouez également… Oui, ça me ressemble, bien sûr. Et en règle générale, on est toujours attiré par ce qui nous ressemble émotionnellement. Parallèlement à tout cela, vous travaillez, notamment, avec Christian Louboutin… Est-ce que vous fonctionnez de la même façon dans la mode ? Je déteste la mode ! Il n’y a rien de pire ! Dans ma vie, j’ai dû voir deux défilés. C’est une industrie tellement violente, où il y a des monstres ! Ce sont les pires ! Dans ce milieu, j’ai toujours évolué avec des gens qui voulaient travailler avec moi. Des personnes qui regardent ça plutôt comme du style, qui racontent des histoires. Christian Louboutin est comme ça. C’est un personnage iconique français. C’est un mélange de « high class » et de « low class »… Quelqu’un qui aime l’art, la musique, qui est très intelligent… Mais qui est surtout très simple, qui vient de la terre. Pour revenir à la musique, dans quel état d’esprit êtes-vous avant d’attaquer les grandes salles ? On a débuté et testé la tournée en Asie et aux Etats-Unis où on a eu beaucoup plus de succès qu’on ne l’attendait. Ça a très bien fonctionné. Là, en septembre, on la démarre officiellement en Europe avec le nouveau show. Ça veut dire que l’on repartira en Asie, aux Etats-Unis, avant de faire l’Amérique du Sud. C’est devenu beaucoup plus qu’une tournée européenne ! Qu’est-ce que le public va voir dans ce nouveau show ? Un show mis en scène, avec un début, un milieu et une fin. Avec, visuellement, un chemin. Il y a un concept, une histoire qui vient de mes racines, du théâtre, de l’opéra, dans le contexte de mes chansons. C’est une sélection de titres des quatre albums encadrés dans une histoire qui explique qui je suis. C’est un show riche dans lequel on peut se perdre… C’est mon objectif. J’ai créé quelque chose qui provoque de l’émerveillement, quel que soit son âge. C’est super-important pour moi. Et je ne le fais pas avec des leds, avec des énormes écrans mais avec des choses qui sont faites à la main, des techniques très simples qui provoquent de l’émotion. On vous sent aussi impatient qu’à vos débuts ! Tout à fait ! Je le suis à 100 %. Je suis impatient, j’ai faim ! Créer et construire une sorte de réalité parallèle me donne une force et une envie incroyable ! C’est une impatience qui, à la fin, va me manger ! Mika sera en concert au Zénith de Nancy le vendredi 9 octobre.

Il fatto che ancora oggi, in Italia, si senta l’esigenza di sottolineare l’orientamento sessuale di qualcuno in chiave dispregiativa, la dice lunga su quale sia certo sentimento sociale per le persone non conformi al canone ritenuto “normale”. Perché è vero: in TV ci emozioniamo per le storie d’amore di Callie e Arizona in Grey’s Anatomy e su Facebook mettiamo le foto arcobaleno per festeggiare il matrimonio egualitario negli USA. Ma una civiltà, per esser tale, non può limitarsi ad atti meramente mediatici, per quanto anche questi aiutino. I simboli, si sa, sono importanti. Ma il problema, cara ministra, è culturale. E nella nostra cultura qualcuno entra ancora in crisi di fronte a una persona dichiaratamente gay. Al punto tale che si sente minacciato nella sua mascolinità. Per salvaguardarla, pone un limite verbale tra norma e “deviazione” dalla stessa. Usando un evergreen linguistico quale “frocio”, appunto. Questo per altro dovrebbe suggerirci quanto sia solida la considerazione del proprio essere maschile da parte di certi soggetti, ma non è questa la sede per questo tipo di argomenti, che lasciamo all’analisi dei gender studies. Cambiare culturalmente il paese è un processo che necessita di passi giuridici precisi. Riguardo a questo, le suggerisco alcuni consigli: in primis, esiste un ddl sulle unioni civili in Senato che dovrebbe essere velocizzato. Ed esistono migliaia di emendamenti di personaggi istituzionalmente lugubri che vanno in direzione contraria rispetto a quanto lei fatto, ministra, dichiarando di partecipare al concerto del cantante. Se è davvero volontà politica del suo partito approvare quella legge, lei e il suo leader, che avete il potere di fare le cose quando le volete fare – basta vedere cosa è successo per jobs act, RAI e “buona” scuola – avete il dovere di comportarvi di conseguenza. E questo è il primo. Ecco il secondo: scongelare, visto che ci siete, anche la legge sull’omofobia, quella scritta da Ivan Scalfarotto e ispirata da Paola Binetti, ripulirla dagli emendamenti omofobi (il Gitti-Verini, che “istituzionalizza” le affermazioni contro le persone LGBT nelle scuole, per intenderci) e approvarla in tempi rapidissimi. La legge dovrebbe prevedere inasprimenti penali per le violenze e discriminazioni per orientamento sessuale e identità di genere (in modo da coprire il 100% della popolazione, persone etero incluse) e sanzioni amministrative e pecuniarie per gli hate speech. Perché la prima forma di discriminazione e di violenza è linguistica. Si ricordi il manifesto per cui lei, ministra, ha comprato i biglietti. Last but not least: cambiare anche il linguaggio del suo partito, inerentemente alla questione omosessuale italiana. Il volantino che avete prodotto per “spiegare” le unioni civili è una toppa peggiore del danno che si voleva aggiustare. Sembra che vogliate rassicurare gli omofobi utilizzando i loro stessi discorsi. Come fare una legge contro il razzismo ma suggerendo implicitamente a qualche cappuccio bianco: tranquilli, non saranno mai come noi “normali”. E non è così che si combatte la discriminazione. Non sposando tesi e concetti analoghi a quel pensiero che si dice di voler combattere. E qui mi fermo, gentile ministra. Le lascio questi consigli e ne faccia quello che vuole, anche se forse non li leggerà mai. Ma credo che siano buoni suggerimenti, almeno se è vero che lei è a favore della piena parità tra persone LGBT e maggioranza etero. E se è vero che lei ha comprato quei biglietti perché crede realmente alle cose che dice e non per fare l’ennesimo atto di pinkwashing a favore di un governo che ha molto da farsi perdonare, anche in tema di diritti civili. Dopo di che, si diverta a Firenze a fine settembre. Mika merita. E non perché è gay, ma perché è bravo.

This is an interesting interview to the man who photographed the homophobic insult on the poster of Mika and posted it on Facebook and Instagram. This is the article: La rete si risveglia oggi al “suono” del hashtag #rompiamoilsilenzio lanciato da Mika e l’eco mediatico è tale che questa frase entra subito nei trend topic di Twitter. Perché ci vogliono convincere che il nostro sia un paese che ha altre priorità, che non necessita di leggi contro la violenza di carattere discriminatorio (che sia discriminazione per il colore della pelle, per la religione o per l’orientamento sessuale poco importa)… Perché vogliono convincerci che al popolo italiano non interessa se due persone dello stesso sesso che si amano non hanno nessun diritto… se vengono insultate e derise per la strada… se vengono picchiate a sangue… E nel frattempo giovani ragazzi si tolgono la vita, vengono insultati e picchiati per il loro orientamento sessuale (vero o presunto) mentre persone meno giovani vivono una vita segreta incapaci di sfuggire al pregiudizio, alla paura e alla vergogna che la nostra società ci ha impiantato dentro come un microchip. E allora Rompere il silenzio è necessario perché viviamo in un paese in cui se vedi un manifesto di un cantante, in questo caso Mika, non ci disegni i baffi, non gli fai le corna in testa… no, ci scrivi sopra FROCIO. Ma se qualcuno si fosse perso l’accaduto in questa domenica d’agosto veniamo ai fatti… Mika terrà un concerto al Nelson Mandela Forum il prossimo 30 settembre e, ovviamente, per le strade della città sono stati appesi i manifesti che pubblicizzano l’evento. Succede che qualcuno con molto tempo libero, al punto da essere inconsapevole che forse sarebbe meglio se impiegasse quel tempo prezioso a cercare di farsi prima un esame di coscienza, quindi a studiare un po’ di storia partendo magari dalle parole Hitler e Genocidio, deturpi il manifesto con un enorme scritta: “FROCIO“. Giornali e siti web prima a questa parola hanno aggiunto i più svariati aggettivi… vergognosa, squallida, idiota… io non lo farò per un semplice motivo. Non starò qui a fingere che quella parola la usino solo pochi deficienti come chi ha “decorato” quel manifesto. Non starò qui a fingere che l’offesa più usata tra i giovani al giorno d’oggi non sia FROCIO DI MERDA… no ragazzi mi spiace dirvelo ma come direbbe qualcuno “FROCIO DI MERDA is the new FIGLIO DI PUTTANA“. Non ci credete? Fatevi un giro in un qualsiasi posto frequentato da adolescenti (e non solo)… un oratorio, un cinema, un centro commerciale, un luna park… vanno bene anche le strade del centro di Milano, fatevi un giro osservate i giovani in gruppo e ascoltateli… capirete che purtroppo quella parola viene usata come il peggior insulto da rivolgere al ragazzo di sesso maschile di turno. Non esiste per gran parte di loro insulto peggiore. Provare per credere…. io la scorsa settimana stavo tornando da Arezzo in treno, nel mio vagone c’era un intera scolaresca di adolescenti di ritorno da una gita con le suore… due ore di viaggio con cinque adolescenti imbizzarriti che, tra un pugno e uno spintone, quando dovevano davvero farsi male tiravano fuori la parolina magica “Sei uno schifoso frocio di merda… ricchione“. Alcune volte questa parola la sentirete sbandierata, altre volte sarà un semplice sussurro accompagnato da qualche risatina stupida. Rammento ancora oggi dove mi trovavo quando Tiziano Ferro fece outing attraverso le pagine di Vanity Fair. Un gesto molto coraggioso. Era un mercoledì di novembre quando l’intervista uscì se non ricordo male e, ovviamente, le edicole era tappezzate con la copertina della rivista con il titolo ben in evidenza “TIZIANO FERRO: Mi voglio innamorare di un uomo“. Ricordo che quella mattina entrai in un tabacchi e quando uscii c’erano quattro o cinque ragazze diciottenni (o poco meno) all’uscita dal negozio. Come delle comari di paese ciacolavano: “Ma hai sentito? Ferro è frocio. mamma mia che delusione” e un’altra gli faceva eco: “davvero, ma chissà come mai…“. Il resto della conversazione ve lo risparmio perché ci sarebbe davvero da mandarle in esilio sull’isola d’Elba. Per fortuna i giovani non sono tutti così (e questo va sottolineato!)… per fortuna in alcuni casi la musica riesce ad andare oltre l’ignoranza delle persone e posso dire che è stato bello qualche settimana fa vedere lo stadio San Siro di Milano pieno di gente che cantava le canzoni di Tiziano; persone di tutte le età, di tutte le provenienze geografiche e sociali… anche persone che magari se vedono un omosessuale pensano ancora che serva mettersi spalle al muro… però erano lì a cantare… e questo è un piccolo segno che possiamo ancora sperare. Sperare si, ma senza dimenticarci che per quel che riguarda la discriminazione sessuale il nostro paese ha ancora un sacco di problemi. Mancano le leggi, quelle che tutelino dalla violenza e dalle discriminazioni, e quelle che concedano diritti al punto che siamo stati anche redarguiti recentemente dall’Unione Europea. Delle leggi sarebbero un primo grande passo in un paese come il nostro in cui questa benedetta famiglia del “Mulino bianco” (sempre che la famiglia del Mulino bianco rappresenti quella tradizionale, ma è un modo di dire) non si sa di cosa abbia paura, forse che gli omosessuali gli interrompano la produzione di Tegolini? Ma purtroppo il problema più grande del nostro paese è culturale. Le nostre scuole non sono attrezzate ad insegnare fin dalle elementari il rispetto per le diversità, quali esse siano, e questo è un processo che dovrebbe partire immediatamente. Va detto che insieme alle scuole sarebbe il caso che questa cultura e questo rispetto venga insegnato in primis anche ai nostri politici che, in più di un occasione, si sono lasciati scappare frasi infelici o concetti retrogradi, ignoranti e lesivi della dignità degli omosessuali. Mi viene in mente il nome di un politico della Lega a cui spesso viene data parole nei talk show della televisione italiana. Ecco toglietegliela subito. Perché va bene la libertà di pensiero, ma c’è un confine che non andrebbe mai superato, soprattutto da parte di chi ci governa. “Avevo visto la foto della scritta sui miei manifesti e il mio istinto era di lasciar stare… che l’odio di alcune persone, una cosa che conosco bene, era meglio ignorata. Ma voi avete ragione #rompiamoilsilenzio non ho paura di chi mi discrimina. Nessuno deve averne. L’amore fa quel che vuole“. Queste sono state le parole di Mika in risposta a quella scritta sul suo manifesto ed ora se ne sta parlando tanto e questo è un bene. Ma è anche vero che questo eco mediatico arriva dal fatto che un personaggio noto ha deciso di non stare zitto e rispondere per le rime agli insulti. Quello che non deve assolutamente accadere e che questa indignazione duri qualche giorno o settimana al massimo per poi svanire nel nulla. La notizia di un ragazzo picchiato da sei coetanei (4 uomini e 2 donne) con pugni, calci e catene a Genova è di pochi giorni fa. Lo hanno aggredito solo perché una delle ragazze era convinta che stesse guardando il suo fidanzato e gli ha urlato contro “brutto gay, non guardare il mio ragazzo“, lui ha cercato di far capire che era solo soprappensiero, ma non c’è stato verso; sceso dal pullman è stato massacrato in una maniera talmente brutale da causargli un ematoma cerebrale che lo ha mandato in coma, salvato in extremis da un intervento di neurochirurgia. Stiamo parlando di qualcosa accaduto una manciata di giorni fa, eppure quel giorno non c’è stato nessun trend topic su Twitter, qualche tweet qua e là ma perlopiù silenzio… Ecco a cosa deve servire l’hashtag #rompiamoilsilenzio, a non rassegnarsi, a smetterla di creare divisioni, e a non farsi sentire solo quando ad “alzare la voce” è qualcuno di famoso. Per Mika in queste ore si sta alzando un coro di tweet e messaggi di solidarietà da parte dei suoi colleghi: Simona Ventura, Eros Ramazzotti, Elisa, Paola Turci, Lorenzo Fragola,Fedez sono solo alcuni dei nomi che si sono espressi al riguardo con parole di solidarietà bellissime perché Mika, prima che un cantante e un’artista, è un uomo, un essere umano. Cette idée de célébrer les choses est essentielle, elle donne une sorte de perspective. Ce que je célèbre n’est pas la joie, c’est aussi la tristesse. Ressentir des émotions est très tabou aujourd’hui. C’est punk d’exprimer ses émotions. On peut dire que le punk, c’est les tatouages, les cretes, le cuir, mais ce n’est que de l’esthetique, c’est superficiel. Le punk, c’est l’émotion, c’est l’Italienne qui s’exprime, le Français qui dit exactement ce qu’il pense, c’est Gainsbourg, Fanny Ardant.
