  1. I also don’t like to talk and discuss these things because are complicated and basically it's useless, for different reasons, but I want to say just a few things, then I stop. "My point re Katy Perry was that there was a time when she did not have a huge promotional machine and was not guaranteed a number one album. Mika had sold 4 million albums at that point and she had not even released hers yet. But still she went to the UK and played gigs even if only 200 people turned up. Unless someone is some kind of an instant star via X Factor then they all have to start at the bottom. Record companies don't just launch a huge promotional machine behind every artist from the minute they sign a contract. In fact if you're going to compare Mika and Katy Perry, Mika was the one who received massive hype and success surrounding the launch of his project and had a #1 album within a few months. It took Katy Perry many many years from playing in bars as a teen to playing the Superbowl halftime show. If Mika wants to concentrate his energies outside the UK I can totally understand that. He has good reasons at this point. But I don't understand the point of posting here that Mika is doing everything he can in the UK when he has clearly decided to invest his time in other markets instead." Promoting also depends on other factors and not only by his will. But is it so difficult to understand this? When I ever said that "That everyone in the music industry should just hand over success to Mika on a silver platter"? and when ever anyone did that? And oh, wow, I didn’t know that the Queen Elizabeth owned a record company and/or was the creator and producer of talent shows like, for example, X Factor!! Joking aside, the question about Simon Cowell was obviously a sort of rhetorical question, but if tv shows in UK aren't interested in inviting him, where he should go to promote his music? Also, seems to you that he is asking or has ever asked for something to anyone or expect opportunities who knows where? But if it's precisely for that reason that he decided to work in France and Italy! And he doesn't stay there all the time and you know it. When I talk about "the market rules", I mean how the music industry works, the way the record companies, especially the majors, decide to whom to do contracts and how they produce and publicize their singers and their songs on media. "All artists are playing by the same rules, it is not some special case for Mika" Do you really think it? Not all artists have the same possibilities/chances to make and promote their music in the same way and by the same means, the same financial resources, on the same media and live platforms .You can't say that all music, the singers are the same and all the songs have the same quality and have the same chance of being passed in the media, especially mainstream media, in the same way, because it's not true (US radios, for example, have never, or very little, passed songs of Mika, when he was famous and sold millions of albums in the world). There are singers, singers or artists with songs made on purpose to pander to the tastes of the teen market, and artists who make songs and music, first of all for themselves, expressing their feelings and to say something, music which they like, and that probably isn't very commercial or mainstream. And I'm not talking only about Mika, in fact he isn't "some special case", there are other artists in this way. Also there are singers/artists who are always on tabloids, for one reason or for another and have therefore more media attention of others. Yes, I agree. Mika has always been defined as an atypical artist and hard to label by media. The lyrics of "Grace Kelly" have a specific meaning and do you know why the record company wanted and asked Mika to be more like Robbie Williams and Craig David in his way of singing and in his songs? It's still relevant even now. The record companies wanted and want even more now commercial products that are like or similar to those that are the success of the moment. It isnt' me who say it, but the authors and producers who work there. He is not commercial enough, he isn't very mainstream, he doesn't make the music like that which has success at the moment, that it's always on the radio or in the top charts, he doesn't want to please someone in particular or be liked by everyone. So comparing him to other artists or singers is like comparing apples with oranges. There's a lot of talk about 2007 around here, but at the time he was the trend of the moment, although he wasn't and didn't make the same music of others, and, despite the success, the millions of albums sold, he was very criticized by a lot of the English (and not only English) press and critics, because the point is that he wasn't the usual singer, right?(and please, don't say that they weren't obliged to like him and his music and say nice things, because this is obvious) But he was invited to the programs in UK, because it was at the top of the charts, for nothing else, don't fool ourselves. It was certainly easier, but we are no longer there, we are in 2015. Mika talked about this subject many times in interviews - and those in Italian and French have been translated into English - he said that some things have changed in the music industry, he explained because he decided to do television in Italy and France, and not in UK, provided that there was really an offer from XF UK and it was not just a rumor, that he needs sponsors to make videos, concerts, tours, as well as it takes money to produce and make his music, for recording studios and musicians. I don't know what else you want to hear, and if you have any question or criticism do it directly to him or to his managing team. Or ask directly to his record label in the UK, or in any radio or television there. He did concerts in US, Korea, Japan, China, Canada, Belgium, Holland, Switzerland, Spain, Czech Republic. In Italy he did 4 concerts, not millions, in addition the concert with the symphony orchestra in Como, for which he needed three sponsors, especially Sky Italia, that will broadcast the concert soon, and of which maybe will be made a dvd, and certainly more in France, where he has probably more request and he performed again in Paris, and maybe Toulouse, I think, simply because of it.
  2. I'm sorry to say this because other times I have defended Eleonora, but tonight her performances weren't good and has sung out of tune a lot, while Giacomo/Eva didn't deserve to go out. He, as I said before, is a sensitive singer-songwriter, and I think that he hasn't been understood by the public. What a pity. Mika is probably too honest and professional for this show. He should adapt to the mentality not only of the Italian public, but also to the mentality of the public/television-viewers of talent shows . And this, I think he never will do it because he is an artist with a capital A, who thinks to make become better singers the contestants of his teams, even outside the context of the Tv show, in fact his coaching are the best parts of it. And, sorry, I know I keep saying it,
  3. If you have to complain about something, do it about the music industry of today and the choices of record companies and mainstream media. Things are not easy for an artist like Mika, it's not him who have to or should bend to the market rules. He and his team do what they can, and he / they can't be everywhere, and in the same way. And he can't do much if some doors are closed. In UK, for example, Simon Cowell could invite him to X Factor UK to help him, but he doesn't do it. Why?

  5. No, not only they don't have stopped and continue, also on YouTube, and even some "fans" of Mika that were previously displeased about it now retweet the "ship", but also these articles: http://www.leggo.it/SPETTACOLI/TELEVISIONE/mika_fedez_xfactor_sposi_matrimonio_londra_foto/notizie/1633564.shtml , http://it.blastingnews.com/tv-gossip/2015/10/mika-annuncia-il-suo-matrimonio-con-fedez-00615993.html , http://www.abruzzo24ore.tv/news/XF9-Mika-Dichiara-che-Sposera-Fedez-ma-il-Rapper-si-Arrabbia/164750.htm (and others) But these people understand the irony or not? they write repeating the phrase of Mika, that was clearly ironic, but suggesting instead that there is some truth in it. What a trashy gossip!
  6. To everyone who will go to the concert of Como tonight: have fun! But I also hope that there will be no inappropriate and impolite behaviors, that we're seeing a little too much recently, especially in Italy. Fingers crossed!
  7. Some curiosity on the contestants: There are already professionals or with experience, and you can see and hear it, like Moseek (they have already released an EP in 2010 and an album in 2014, 3 singles with their videos, festivals in Italy and a tour in England http://xfactor.sky.it/2015/08/01/moseek/ , http://www.dasapere.it/in-evidenza/moseek-leaf/ ), Urban Strangers (they have already released their EP in June 2015, with success on iTunes http://www.allmusicitalia.it/news/urban-strangers-la-storia-del-duo-alla-conquista-di-web-e-classifica-dopo-laudizione-a-x-factor-video.html , http://www.rockit.it/recensione/29841/urbanstrangers-urban-strangers ), Davide “Shorty” Sciortino has published with his group an EP in 2014 (http://www.retrospectiveforlove.com/ ), Massimiliano D'Alessandro, who is not just a horse breeder, has the experience of having played several genres such as soul, funk and pop with various bands in clubs and pubs in South Italy and the blues on important stages of many Italian festivals (Sanremo Rock, Baronissi in Blues, Piaggine Festival Sud Sostenibile, Alburni Jazz & Blues Festival, Campania Blues Festival, Blues Made in Italy, Blues Fest in Park, South Italy Blues Connection, Tropea Blues Festival, Montoro in Blues http://xfactor.sky.it/2015/08/01/massimiliano/ , http://lacittadisalerno.gelocal.it/tempo-libero/2015/09/11/news/il-chitarrista-salernitano-a-caccia-di-un-sogno-1.12079291 ), Giovanni Sada/Giò Sada, who played with five groups and has a rather extensive experience on Italian stages and also in international festivals like the Rock Punk Holiday (http://xfactor.sky.it/2015/08/01/giosada/ , http://www.ilsussidiario.net/News/Cinema-Televisione-e-Media/2015/10/15/Giovanni-Sada-Chi-e-il-cantante-scelto-da-Elio-e-come-e-stata-la-sua-performance-X-Factor-2015-Home-Visit-oggi-15-ottobre-/646737/ ), and Landlord who have played together for three years, from 2012, in festivals. The others have very, very little experience, just some little singing competition, with the curiosity of Margherita who participated in the “Zecchino D’Oro” (an international children's song festival that has taken place in Italy every year since 1959 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zecchino_d%27Oro ), as a child with “Il pulcino ballerino” (http://xfactor.sky.it/2015/08/01/margherita/), and Giacomo Runco (Eva), who was among the authors of a song by a young girl among the Newcomers section of Sanremo Festival 2015 (http://www.aajtv.it/news/servizi-video/6242-a-sanremo-anche-lautore-calabrese-giacomo-runco.html ). As I said before (http://www.mikafanclub.com/topic/31807-mika-to-be-a-judge-at-x-factor-italia-2015/page-9#entry4014896 , http://www.mikafanclub.com/topic/31807-mika-to-be-a-judge-at-x-factor-italia-2015/page-9#entry4015104 ) and I think it even more now, the favorite is Fedez (called by me, ironically, Morgan2), for various reasons, with the Urban Strangers, already the idols of everyone, young girls (especially) and not. It was quite obvious, even before the live show started, given their EP's success on iTunes. Who could give them trouble? I think maybe Leonardo, Luca, Giò Sada, Davide Sciortino and Margherita. The (under) boys yesterday were nervous, they're very young with very little experience, obviously they have to work to improve (I think that this week Mika will scold them a lot and will be hard on them), and this year they, this category, will not have the luck to get the votes of support of Fedez’s many fans and the choice of obvious, easy songs. Giacomo / Eva has the disadvantages of being a sensitive singer-songwriter, who rarely works in this format, and his choice of the stage name, which apparently, although we are in 2015, is affecting negatively (/is having a negative influence over) the public vote (see comments on socials - sigh!). Mika, as usual, is the most objective and honest about his team, and every year it’s equally obvious that such honesty is not rewarded, and his being an atypical artist is also in the not to choose too easy or commercial songs, but he prefers to do risky choices and therefore he doesn't please the average public, so that even his "fans" don’t understand and don’t like his choices but that's the way he is, and I like it! . I hope that to his boys will be given the opportunity to gain experience and learn from those professionals as long as possible. And, if I can say, I think both Eva and Massimiliano weren’t among the worst of the evening, but these are the votes of the public and, even before the beginning of the live show, I thought that Eleonora and Massimiliano were those most in danger, but they were in the same manche/round. And, coincidentally, those went to the showdown have sung both in Italian (them and Eleonora). It seems that Italians - the vast majority of them doesn’t understand and doesn’t speak English - or at least the average public, in this context, doesn’t like the songs in Italian, that they understand, and prefer those in English, that they don’t understand. It's funny, right? I'd love to have "one"(!) episode where everyone sings in Italian, so to level the playing field, at least once, on X Factor Italia!

  9. Some information about the show, from this article: http://www.lifestyleblog.it/blog/2015/10/x-factor-2015-si-riaccende-lx-factor-arena/ L’attesa è finita. Ahahahah! Fortunately Mika has sense of humor and irony! (about the crazy fans and the so-called "shippers" that have been circulating for some time all over the socials and YouTube). While Fedez denied that they are "boyfriends"! Let's hope that the loud and clear message now has been received. And also here http://xfactor.sky.it/2015/10/20/la-conferenza-stampa-dei-live-show-di--xf9/ great irony by Elio and some clarification of Skin on her choices (that of Eleonora highly criticized, even in a rude and offensive way, on socials) and her Italian's improvements.
  13. Can you tell me if anyone recorded the interview with the readers of "Corriere", please?
  14. Fortunately several people have reported it and I hope that something has been deleted or removed. But these girls don't understand, for them it's like a game and they respond to those who tell them to stop rudely. Honestly, I don't understand why they do these things. I know that it's something that fans often make for the characters of TV series and films/movies, but the fact that they do it for real people (whoever they are) is very disrespectful. Maybe they can't distinguish reality from fantasy, and they think that their fantasies, their weird ideas are to be shared with others. I don't care if they keep it private or in their "fandom" but if they tell and put their idiocies publicly everywhere in socials, especially sending them to the accounts of these actors, singers, etc.. for fun or worse believing it's true, they are completely crazy! X Factor since last year attracted more very young audience and the fans of Fedez are almost all young girls and a simple friendship between two colleagues was exaggerated up to this, probably unexpected thing. In fact, I think (and hope) Fedez believed that it was a joke and a short trend, not that it become an obsession. At least, he has stopped answering them. And yes, I agree with you, X Factor Italy should not allow such things on their sites. I dont know what they will do for the duet, but now I really hope there will not be a video. Mika has the same behavior, kind and friendly, often joking, with all his colleagues, both in France and in Italy, as he has the same behavior with all the contestants in his teams, both girls and boys, so anyone who sees something else, he/she does it with malice and their comments are in bad taste. In Italy there are still many problems about homophobia or simply respect for gays and LGBT people, lacking the education and the culture and a lot of people think and talk about them according to the usual stereotypes and prejudices. These ideas are so embedded in our society, especially because of the powerful interference of the Church and the claustrophobic Catholic education that sometimes people don't realize how offensive they are, how wrong is what they say, but others enjoy to offend and discriminate. But what is annoying is that Mika, from a couple of years is more open about his private life and has also said more than once in interviews that his couple is normal and traditional, as they are faithful to each other (he knows the prejudice) and then some idiot spread these things, thinking it's funny, "because, you know he's gay so...". They are very stupid! I think too he can deal with that, he has a strong personality, but it would be better that some people develop and mature as civilized persons.
  15. You are welcome! I agree, Skin was really sweet. The young boy, Vito, at the audition said that he was bullied in his small town because he wanted to be a singer, so Mika was a little sad at that moment and she understood it.
  16. I'm sure that when you tease him, you are only joking without malice and at the beginning, the first year, it was the same here and even now there are persons who joke only for a few minutes, but now with many people is much more than that, they enjoy to mock and ridicule him for his mistakes (3 days of continuous ridicule for the last error, a typo, on twitter!). But not only that, there is something more offensive at a personal level and for his private life. Some people, for example, lightly/carelessly call him "troia" (a vulgar and offensive term to indicate "whore/slut") and make gratuitous comments about his sex life. But there's something worst. I know it's difficult to understand for those who aren't in Italy and don't see what has been circulating for several days on social networks, to understand what I'm talking about, so I'll try to explain it for those who want to know, but I prefer to talk about it, behind the spoiler tag, but without posting anything at all of it, because I think it's very offensive and in bad taste: (Let me know, please, if you want that I delete this post and I will do it immediately. But probably I will delete it anyway) Edit: To all these people I suggest to listen to and watch the video of "Staring At The Sun"!
  17. Me neither, but my sister yes and she said it to me, to made me see them (but everyone can see them even without having an account).I hope too that Mika isn't too bothered by it, he's an intelligent man. It's just that I am disappointed that these things happen here in Italy.
  18. Yes, this is the point. Between a giggle or a spontaneous laughter that lasts one minute and - il "prenderlo continuamente in giro" - continuously make fun of (mock/ridicule) him on socials and media whenever he makes a mistake there is a a big difference. For the last error, the "scritto" typo, they are continuing from Saturday. Also there are a few that ape him for the way he speaks Italian, as if he were an idiot. It's a stupid thing, not funny at all, but I think too that "Mika is a smart guy and I'm sure he can tell the ignorant people from the sensitive ones." Moreover, when I said "that now they are "having fun" with something even worse and distasteful/offensive, tagging it/them to him, without any respect. There's a limit to everything!" , I was talking, maybe you know, about those offensive photoshopped pictures, manips with images and phrases of sexual nature, which are now everywhere, on socials, tagged to him, for a few days. Awfully disrespectful. I hope that they'll stop soon, but I'm not very optimistic about it, until someone intervenes and tells them clearly to stop.
  19. And for this reason even more embarrassing, (but many people make it regardless, also of his way of speaking Italian) so why retweet hundred thousand times and talk about it even in the media? I remember his expression in "Le Invasioni Barbariche" when people in the audience laughed at one of his mistakes in pronunciation and it wasn't funny. Obviously this is only my opinion, but I think it isn't funny, this continuous make fun of him, because some are continuing, do you know? He isn't an idiot. But if you saw on socials lately you have seen that now they are "having fun" with something even worse and distasteful/offensive, tagging it/them to him, without any respect. There's a limit to everything! (Che figura di m...., noi Italiani, e soprattutto dopo quello che è successo quest'estate! God, that's seriously cringeworthy!, for us Italians, and especially after what happened this summer!)
