  1. I don't think calling people pessimists simply because they're talking about the future and the promotion of the new album, and because they are saying "we don't want the album to flop again", is going to help anything. In my eyes it's not a matter of optimists or pessimists, we're all fans and we want Mika to have the success that he deserves, with his talent. That's what we're discussing. In my opinion, it's not the smartest thing to only focus on Italy and France. Of course, what you're saying about one tv show in one country and one festival appearance in another, that's not going to work either. For Mika, only focusing on Italy and France would be the easiest way out, wouldn't cost him a lot of time and stress, and somewhere I would understand if he chose to do that. However, I do believe he could have international success again. Here in the Netherlands I hear Grace Kelly and Relax on the radio every now and then, and I always hear praise about how creative he was. If everyone simply knew that he had other albums, I think they'd be pleased. And in order to let everyone know, he has to put a lot of work, time and devotion into promoting his music again, internationally. I don't know if he's already made his choices. If he has, I think I understand why. International superstardom isn't everything either. He can live a relatively normal life in London and still make music for a living. Doesn't change the fact that I think Mika is an under appreciated artist that deserves a lot more.
  2. You're so good at this! I just can't seem to find a good one.. Thought I'd post that I think this is a very nice thread and please keep them coming!
  3. He needs PROMOTION But I agree with Marilyn, what would be smart is releasing a good single with a music video, and announcing the release date, title and cover of the album. Then, he needs to do interviews, interviews, interviews, interviews. Everywhere. And he should perform his single there. That would be a full time job, and I'm afraid that that's not possible combined with The Voice.
  4. I don't want to annoy anyone with my optimism, but what if he's gonna do an actual headlining tour? A tour for the fourth album? Then what usually happens is that the tour is announced after the album is released. Those festivals are not managed by him so he doesn't have any say in when they are or when they are announced.. I'm expecting tour dates after the album release.
  5. I agree with everything. Except that Good Guys is a dance song, haha! But yes, I agree that BIOTG has a boring chorus (which is a shame because I love the verses) and Rain is one of my favourite songs but the chorus is not very easy on the ears. In the end, though, it all comes down to promotion. As long as that's done well, he can sell almost anything. Especially since the songs we've heard so far are so good, I don't think the single will disappoint (I'm an optimist, apparently). He should hurry though, if he wants to release a single before the release of the album that's due in April
  6. I agree that it's so difficult because we haven't heard anything in the album version. Talk About You sounds promising, but we haven't even heard the chorus yet! Choruses are important. So I don't know, really. Good Guys sounds powerful - like Happy Ending was, so could be a good single, but maybe not the first. Perhaps as the third single. If The Last Party becomes what I think it will become, a Mika upbeat happy-sounding song with sad/desperate lyrics, it could be a good first single
  7. I got so happy when I saw that someone posted in this thread It's a great one, thanks for posting here! Do you happen to have it in full colour?
  8. That's great! Good news! Thanks for posting! Hey, but the album was originally due for 2014, so April 2015 is late already (still waiting until I hear the full release date from his own mouth though - 'still finishing the album' doesn't sound promising to me)
  9. I agree, I'd love for it to be Good Guys! I don't know how the studio version of The Last Party will sound so I don't know about that. Although I feel like it might actually be an upbeat song. But I think the message of Good Guys is very good, and it sounds amazingly powerful. Combined with a good music video and a lot of promotion - interviews, performances, radioplay, especially in the UK and, if it's done well, the USA. My country usually picks up what's charting in the UK and USA, those countries are huge influences and extremely important. I hope so. I'm worried that they're not going to bother. But oh, I hope so.
  10. I'm only now seeing this thread and yet I'm already in it I guess we'll just have to wait until we hear the full version to see how those children make sense or if they don't and it's something completely else. Somehow Mika is difficult to understand when he's singing (or am I the only one with that problem?) Edit: by the way I'm hearing "Just the beginning, but I'm not even scared" (instead of "It's"). It's a slight difference but I thought I'd put it here.
  11. Thank you so much, it's a great video! Love to see him cooking at Garou's haha
  12. It's strange because I have no problem watching the videos on mikawebsite at all. I watched the entire episode on there last Monday and I can still start the video. Just putting that out there so you know that not everyone has the same problem. Which only makes it more weird of course...
  13. Really glad to see this official confirmation!! I can't put into words how happy I am to get to be able to hear this wonderful concert in good quality
  14. The snippet of Staring At The Sun is a bit extended! I love the last part of this snippet! Thanks for sharing
  15. Yes me too! Although I love the title "The Origin Of Love". I'm just always really curious to know the album title so I like speculating I don't know, somehow I find the album title to be very important. I agree that if it were to be a song title, Staring At The Sun would be nice. Or "No Ordinary Man" as a play on Ordinary Man.
  16. Thank you! Now that you mentioned it, I vaguely recall having read about that here.. So we basically know the whole tracklist Only the title... I was thinking about that, do you guys think he'll name the album after a track, like TOOL, or come up with something totally different like the first two?
  17. I wonder that too! I think Good Guys (full version obviously) could be quite good! And I'm really excited as well Well, he's said in an interview that the album is in English, but with some tracks in French. Boum Boum Boum will be there. Unless he's changed his mind... Here's the source: (from about 2 mins)
  18. At the gig with OSM last night, we got to know two new titles from tracks from the new album. If I'm not mistaken, so far we know these titles: Boum Boum Boum Rio Staring At The Sun Good Guys Talk About You The Last Party Ordinary Man All She Wants Is Another Son And he's said there's going to be 10, maybe 11 songs. Is this all correct?
  19. Thanks so much for the great reports! Even just reading those I get a lump in my throat. If I could've gone, I'd probably have been crying all night.. I cannot cannot wait for the new album with the new songs, since you all describe them as 'amazing'! To those going tonight and tomorrow: have fun! Enjoy!
