    I actually like this suit (and role) the most. It’s like a paper mache doll that comes to life. To me it means that you can create whatever you like, be whomever you want to be. It starts with an idea and then you get it into motion to become reality.

    His work has (always? I can’t answer this; I haven’t been a fan for long enough to know) been about poetic resistance rather than making a very specific statement. He answers with beauty, lyrics and imagery that is completely open to interpretation and in this way also inclusive; in the poetic sense of the word. That’s how I interpret his work anyway.

    Although I truly love analyzing Mika’s music and videos, right now I am just enjoying the ride. There have been so many new melodies and new visuals! I feel it’s such a candid and poppy album, it shows a different side of him that is also very much him. It just makes me very curious for the rest of the album and his storytelling. I do have to admit that not being able to understand everything right away due to the language barrier is a little hurdle I have to overcome to get a feel for the song. However, thanks to Mika I am embracing the French language more and much faster. It’s already enriching me! So when the tour comes I can actually say more than just “bonjour” and “baguette”

    I LOVE the light, the scenography and the details. Also love that Job and his wife had a cameo in there Btw, now we know how Mika can be everywhere in the world at the same time. We all saw his clones in the video!

    Yay! Good for you!!! The ticket prices have gone up due to rising costs, I assume. BUT I also have to add that Mika’s concert tickets are incredibly reasonably priced; considering what scale artist he is and despite the rising costs. Other artists easily ask twice the price (or more) for their own dedicated tours. I think it’s a wonderful gesture to his audience, in the end he decides the ticket price and he decides to keep it reasonable.

    I just see one problem.. how is he going to get on that piano and safely stay/dance on there without stumbling over that….wing!? Or are we now entering an era where he shall not climb pianos anymore? (This is a rhetorical question, of course he will! ) Or is he climbing on cars now!?!

    Preferably a sport with a lot of diversity and no strong gender roles. A sport that doesn’t require a lot of muscle yet can be finished within 20 mins. World Games of Hacky Sack come to mind!

    The positive comments outweigh the negative comments by far. Also: haters are going to hate, they will always be there, but fortunately they don’t stay. It’s just a confirmation that he can provoke many emotions in people and it will unite those who are positive, which is the biggest group anyway: and which was his intention.

    That’s so sad, for me the reason to not watch it on Dutch tv and wait for the replay. Which is usually provided within the hour here on the forum THANK YOU to everyone who posted their recordings and replays! I loved it. That suit was a perfect choice and I loved how he dressed up all the kids with a flower suit in all colours. I also loved how the children formed a heart at the end and he was sitting on his piano. Putting the emphasis on the children and on love and unity.

    This is a perfect sum up we were however offered the sandwich before recording and had to finish it before entering the studio, so it was more like this: Stuff the manky sandwich in the cold outside, so we can lock you in a room for 6 hours without toilet and water!

    I went to the recording of the final in 2021 (right before the philharmonic concerts) and this is very accurate. Although the recording was „only“ from 18.00 until midnight back then. We weren’t offered anything to drink nor was it possible to have a bathroom break, because they were filming continuously. They did offer the sandwich though.

    Seems like this is the version they are going to perform at the rugby finals. Would’ve been even cooler if they had waited with releasing this video and included material from the actual performance, to give it more power.

    Hmm I’ve actually been looking into Calypso dance, there doesn’t seem to be a consensus. This above sounds more slow. Whereas the Calypso dance from Trinidad seems to be very fast paced. Since Mika’s song is more slow paced, above description fits better. Still as a former dancer; I would love to know how it’s danced!!
