    So, my workplace (a university) is in the middle of a service redesign and restructure project for its professional services staff (eg all the admins etc - hello! 👋) The name of the project is the Academic and Student Services Change programme. Otherwise known as the ASS Change programme. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Of all the things they could have called it. We now have several emails a day titled ASS Change, giving updates on the ASS status...

    Bit of a funny one last night. I had a job as Mika's assistant (). We'd just finished a show in a fancy hotel and were tidying up, and I acted as a liaison with the fans, telling them where the next gig was and to come to the side door so I could let them in early. We then left and I drove ahead with Mika (in his car, he was driving...) to help set up the next gig. Which seemed to be taking place in someone's living room. And not a fancy one, more like a 1960s mid terrace council house. Anyway, he was running soundchecks, and signalled that I could let the fans in, as they were causing a lot of noisy distractions outside. I opened the side door and a stream of fans rushed in, taking up various positions around the house. One girl laid full length across the sofa (the prime viewing spot) and refused to move because she wanted to save seats for her friends. So everyone else just sat on her. Kinda woke up at that point. Shame, best job I've ever had!

    I think he'd be happy to see it now. A year ago I cringed when it was said in his birthday video, I remember thinking "oh god no, it's too soon, those were his mother's words, we don't have the right to use them!"... 🥺 But now, he seems to have fully embraced it - he's used the words publicly, stated them as his ethos and included them in the tour - they're still special, but no longer private, they've taken on a life and meaning beyond the original message, so this year I think we can safely use them, as a reflection of his own ethos, our own wishes for him, and a positive echo of the love that wished to see him always be inspired, creative, happy and successful. ❤️‍🩹🤗 Hopefully the only tears will be good ones! 🤞

    Yeah, I've just been looking online as I was curious. Maybe we should have done that before A Coruña!     I actually had 2 instances of hearing Mika 'in the wild' during the gig trips last week! In A Coruña, staggering back to the hotel after the gig, passed a late night bar around 2am with the final lines of "Hurts" playing. In Nice, sitting in a cafe at lunchtime the day of the Monaco gig, and "Popular" starts playing! It was the Ariana version though. I prefer the psychotic rap version.

    Might be worth checking taxis and noting contact details before you go. In A Coruña we had planned to get an Uber or a Lyft from the airport, but neither operated in the area. Not sure if it's the same for all Spain, Madrid might be different, but do check beforehand.

    Love these! This one... Like 2 young boys peeking out from the stage at the annual school play .. "Well? Can you see them?" "No, they're not here!" "Are you sure? They must be. How about that table near the balcony?" "No, they wouldn't be sat so far... Oh yes! There's the MFCers. Thank god, we are in the right place."

    Yeah, it can hit hard. It makes you realise how grey and ordinary and boring regular life is... the only place I feel truly alive is with my MFC friends at his concerts, in front of him, or travelling to see him. But at least we have had the chance to see him, others are not so lucky. Well, I'm afraid the only known cure for PMD is another Mika gig. Time to get saving and planning! ❤️

    The chef is wearing an apron from "Italian Chef Charity Night". Seems to be an annual event where respected chefs come together to host charity dinners to raise funds for various medical and social initiatives. Nice idea! Maybe Mika couldn't make the date so asked the chef to cook for him and is making a separate donation? Or it's just a private hire chef and he just happens to be wearing that apron. 🙈😂
