  1. I'm only now realising how lucky we are for cheese in the UK! As well as British cheeses, we can usually easily find French, Dutch, Italian, German, Spanish, Swiss, Greek.
  2. Wensleydale is a hard cheese, although it's actually a bit crumbly. It has a creamy, piquant taste. Not sure about Pié d'Angloys.
  3. Just read a BBC article that in 2022, after the USA, France was the 2nd largest consumer of exported British cheese. Its near you!
  4. Oh, what's Pié d'Angloys like? I think I've seen that sold near me.
  5. Red Leicester is like Cheddar, but with a nutty tang. It's a good all-rounder, sandwiches, cheese boards, cooking... I even melted a couple of slices on my veggie spag bol last night. Yum. Yes I'm the height of sophistication.
  6. Most tomatoes in the UK are grown overseas. Poor weather adversely affecting growers in the main producing countries has hit supply, and thanks to a little thing called Brexit () the UK is no longer in a protected supply bubble, so shelves are empty. Which has come as a nasty shock to the jingoistic idiots.
  7. Eww, no blue cheese thanks. Just the thought of eating mould. Even if it's meant to be there! 🤢 OK if we ever share a cheese board, @krysady can have my blue cheese and @crazyaboutmika can have my brie. Just give me the Red Leicester and Leerdammer.
  8. I'm just not keen on earthy flavours. Same reason I don't like goats cheese. I prefer mild and nutty cheese. Don't say it...
  9. In other news, you'll be glad to hear I've bought some apples. Hey, I'm trying!
  10. It really does suck. No wonder some rural communities feel isolated.
  11. Well, @Prisca was going to wear a camel onesie. With a necktie to be smart, of course. Err... you know its only occasional testing, right? Not eating all of it? *has vision of international brie shortage. We would need to get one for him as well. Maybe add a little sparkle to his for on stage. Appeal to his magpie instincts.
  12. Well its not a leap year, so that's one option down. 😁 Hmm... 🤔
  13. Had a reply! There is a Patrons sale before the members sale. "We do go on sale to our Patrons before member on sale meaning that our ticketing system would have chosen the tickets nearest the front as the venues are set up to fill from the front. You still have excellent seats in the stalls which offer great views of the stage." Still worth checking, they might have cancelled seats to put back into the general sale. Edit: get me, I sound like a pro! Just realised it's still less than a year since I attended my first proper gig (New York - I don't count the Paris Philharmonie as a gig, that was in a class of its own).
  14. I'm hoping to go, but will be buying my ticket next week once this month's salary has cleared.
  15. I've emailed the box office asking for clarification, if the front rows are reserved for patrons, artist's guests etc, or if they'll be made available in the general sale instead. Will report back if I hear back from them!
  16. Just tried it again out of curiosity, it offered me stalls L3. Which it also offered to Prisca yesterday.
  17. Oh my goodness. What an amazing episode! I so enjoyed that. Lucy, just incredible. The young boy who played Iris. Future star right there. The man crying while playing Chopin. Josh, his chickens, and attitude to his friends who think he's wasting his time. Good lad. Judges moments: That comment. I howled. Sorry Andy. Mika peeking through the curtain. Mika being so animated about the boy who sang Iris. Mika spotting the bad pub singer's playing talent and asking Claud to make him shut up and focus on the piano - and Claud doing it! Both judges agreeing the woman should dump her selfish partner and focus on her singing. "Please be good. Please be good. Please be good." Both judges being so utterly moved. Wonderful.
  18. Can I have a rant? BUSES!!!! Stagecoach are such a joke. They are incapable of running a network to schedule. Either so early you don't know they've been, or so late you think you must have missed it. That's if they turn up at all. So you stand in the cold dark mizzle hoping one comes, or get a different route and have an extra walk. Bunch of
  19. Similar. With me it's more - I don't know the person who lives there, but they've a lovely dog/cat/parrot. Impressed you know that but not the names! He has one? Or he looks like one?
