    As someone who's been intensely collecting different versions of MIKA CDs over the past few months, I can't believe I never noticed this (or heard about him choosing to do it). The change definitely seems like a major one. The seriousness of his expressions on the albums versus the colors around him are always interesting (maybe with the exception of The Origin Of Love, which is a bit more muted all around). This expression IS shocking, and I can't wait to see how it connects to the music. It seems like a different cover all-around.

    I'm surprised I was able to smoothly make an order in the US, but it seems to have gone through. The shipping price was terrifying, but I'll probably never make another purchase like this, so it will be okay

    I was thinking of doing something like this, too, but the I started over-thinking about the rules where it says not to use any "software" and wondered if that included audio software to splice things together

    I’d be happy to help out sing on some of these, but especially Good Guys and Step With Me. I also like the “gutter” part in Good Guys just as a note. I used to sing in a choir so I think I’d do ok with this. I love Hurts, too.

    I think the multiple definitions are what's making this confusing for everyone. I don't think I'm even going to turn in a submission anymore, there aren't enough instructions for me

    This is what I though too based on the definition, until I started learning that it also means lip-syncing I'm surprised I never heard "playback" used in this way before. The more I think about having everyone sing, the more I have to agree that it sounds like a mess

    I honestly wish there was a little more, clear information about what we should do and how long the clips should be.

    Are we supposed to sing or lip-sync? I’m confused about “playbacks,” today is the first day I’ve heard the word Someone told me it means to lipsync so now I don’t know what to do if I make a submission

    This ⬇️ page is MIKA's only real Facebook page. He doesn't have a personal account or any other fan pages, etc.

    This is a wonderful thread, I love reading everyone’s accounts of how Mika has impacted their lives. Like with many of my favorite artists, I discovered Mika and his music during one of the darker periods of my life when I needed him the most. When I first heard “Lollipop” in Pitch Perfect 2, it was a little over a year into the pandemic and a little bit longer than that since my dad had passed away—among some other stresses in my life at the time—so I really needed someone and something like Mika and his creativity to help me through it and to see the world in a different and brighter way once again. I would definitely say that Mika has helped me be more creative and has expanded my world, even just through simple things like understanding French and Italian a bit better than I ever did. My niece and I have also bonded through Mika and his music and I think he’s had a positive influence on my family overall. Also: as I am someone who was bullied quite intensely throughout high school, I find Mika’s overall message of acceptance and empathy to be both comforting and vitally important. I wish I’d discovered him sooner, but sometimes I think that maybe I found him at just the right time.

    I haven’t gotten much of a chance to participate in anything like this yet at all (I wasn’t “around” for MNIMH), so I find all of this new album stuff very exciting! My question was pretty normal I think, but he’s probably already answered part of it before so it might get skipped. I hope everyone gets their questions answered! 😁

    I know it was sponsored/made possible on PBS by Indeed, who also sponsored Mika’s US tour last year. So I figured that might have something to do with it.

    Welcome @QueenBigFat! As a fellow US fan, I relate to your Mika discovery journey quite well. I keep wondering how I didn't find him sooner. I love the way you write, this is a lovely introduction post that I think speaks to many of us fans and how we felt when we discovered Mika. I hope you enjoy the MFC

    I actually met Johnny Depp when he came to film a movie in my area in 2008. My sister was a huge fan back then and we waited in the cold for hours to see him. I only got to shake his hand, but he seemed nice.
