MIINA Posted October 28, 2009 Share Posted October 28, 2009 インターエクスプレス 2009年9月21日～9月23日 His interview is reprinted from bayfm 9月21日（月） 9月にセカンド・アルバム『THE BOY WHO KNEW TOO MUCH』』をリリースした新世代ポップ・マエストロ、MIKA。 まずは、今回のアルバムを作るにあたり、なにかインスパイアされるような特別なことはあったか聞いてみました。 『しばらく本を読んでいなかったんだけど、久々に読書をするようになって、かなりインスピレーションを得たよ。それから1950年代の子供向けの本もリサーチした。洗練されたイラストとシンプルな物語のコンビネーションはすごく魅力的だよ。あと童謡やおとぎ話なども勉強したんだけど、実は僕たちが寝る前に聞かされた童謡やおとぎ話は、内容的にはとても残酷なものが多いということに気付いたんだ。ようは、マジックは何かの狭間に存在するということなんだよね。例えば大人と子供の間、そして喜びと暗闇の間にマジックが存在し、それらは決して消えることはないんだ。そういった考えが今回のアルバムにすごく影響しているよ。』 『あと『カサブランカ』を初め、古い映画もたくさん観た。マレーネ・ディートリッヒやグレタ・ガルボが演じる強い女性像が大好きなんだ。これらすべてが今回のアルバムに活かされているんだよ。とてもシネマチックで、甘く喜びに満ちた部分とダークな部分とのコントラストが感じられる･･･そんな作品なのさ。』 9月22日（火） 今回のアルバムは、ソングライティングはロンドン、レコーディングはL.A.で行ったというMIKAに、ふたつの場所の違いについて聞いてみました。 『クリエイティヴ面からいうと、ロンドンとL.A.は全く違った良さをもっているんだ。 僕にとってロンドンは曲を作るのに最適で、L.A.は曲を解釈する、っていうのかな～ プロダクション作業をするのに最適な場所なんだ。というのも、ロンドンではチヤホヤされたり、周りに流されることなく、曲作りに集中することができる。一方、L.A.にはミュージシャンもスタジオも機材も最高級のものが揃っていて、電話一本でミュージシャンを呼べるという、アルバム作りには最高の環境が整っている。でも実は僕はL.A.で曲を書いたことがないんだ。どうもL.A.ではそういった創造力が働かないんだよね。』 9月23日（水） ニューアルバム『THE BOY WHO KNEW TOO MUCH』はティーン時代をテーマにした作品ですが、MIKAはどんなティーンエイジャーだったのか聞いてみました。 『ティーンエイジャーのころ、僕は自分を負け犬、社会のはみ出し者だって思っていたんだ。学校ではイジメられっ子で、お金もあまりなかったし、友だちもあまりいなかった（笑）。でも曲を書くことはできたんだ。ただ学校で自分の曲を聴かせるほど僕はクールじゃなかったし、笑い者にされるのがオチだったから、曲を書けることは誰にも言わなかったんだ。そしていつか価値のある人間になるんだっていう思いで、密かに曲を書き続けたのさ。』 そんなMIKAにはソングライティングをする際のこだわりがあるようです。 『実は僕は習慣づけて何かをやるタイプなんだ。例えば今回のアルバム用のソングライティングも、今では閉鎖されてしまったロンドンのオリンピック・スタジオというERIC CLAPTONやROLLING STONESがレコーディングした伝説的な場所で行なったんだけど、毎日11時にスタジオに行き、同じレストランで同じ時間にランチを食べ、夜8時に作業を終了し、8時半には同じパブでビールを飲む･･･。そうやって日々の行動が決まっていないと落ち着かないんだ。まるでおじいさんみたいだろ？』 アコースティックと2ｎｄのメイキングwith Japanese subtitle http://www.live-soup.com/movie.asp?id=12628&mode=1m&no=1 All from this site http://www.live-soup.com/news/inter_details.asp?id=12643 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
