thanx... how good/easy is the transport to/from the airport to the venue and the city centre? just looked for hotels and seems like the ones at the airport are the cheapest - i really can't affort 50 euro per night. :boxed: at the airport you get them for 20 euro.

and another one i found is in zaandam, seems to be a suburb of amsterdam, is that better or worse to reach than the airport?

Zaandam is not that close to amsterdam.

I think with some train/tube hopping you could be at the venue in about 30 minutes, but I have to look into that :thumb_yello:

ok thanx. :thumb_yello: of course if the train ticket costs me 20 euro then it wouldn't make sense... but if i can for example buy a day travelpass or something, i think it might be worth it to save 30 euro per night at the hotel. :bleh:

I checked, there is a train going from Schiphol Airport to Amsterdam Bijlmer Arena (there's the venue) it takes about 15 minutes, no transfers and it costs €3,50 one way :thumb_yello:

I checked this site: www.9292.nl its a site for public transport in holland.

Only just discovered yesterday that this date had been changed and joy of joys I will be 30 minutes away from Amsterdam on Family holiday!

However, I'll be nearly 8 months pregnant and don't fancy trying to get back to remote campsite by myself. Are there any (preferably cheap) hotels really close to the venue? The closest I can find is a mile away and I was hoping there would be something more like 30 seconds away (not that keen on walking late in strange place by myself either!)

Also are there seated tickets? Can't translate the dutch website!

Please help if you can!!

I think its allright to travel at night if you are in a group. I wouldn't feel safe alone.

Ah okay, that doesn't sound too bad, just need to keep an eye out for any dodgy folk.

the tickets aren't seated. If you want to sit, maybe they can arange a chair in the weelchair section?

Btw, I went to a Mika gig when 6 months pregnant. My daughter still is completely crazy about Mika! So a good influence for the baby :thumb_yello:

there are seats acutally, in the back...so if you're there on time you'll have a seat. =) my mum had a seat in 2007, she said the view/sound was great.

Would feel a bit of a fraud in wheelchair section! But good if there are some seats. My two boys are already big Mika fans and this bump was front row at Belfast last month! My youngest's first sentence was actually 'walk out the door' when he'd just turned one. Wonder what his Mummy was listening to ALL the time!!
