STAGE INVASION !! sounds amazing :mf_lustslow::mf_lustslow:

(gotta try next time.....:naughty:)

thanks for the report enigma :wub2:

I think Mika values his life, Yuna. :aah:

The crowd in Lebanon look sort of mild, family-oriented, even government officials are there.... a stage invasion would not take on the same sort of proprortions as one in Korea:wink2:

Well, I checked the calender from 2008 and his Baalbeck, but I guess it was something different. :dunno:

His gig was a collaboration with the Beiteddine and Baalbeck Festivals and it was held in Martyr's Square in Beirut.

OMG that was just the most fun gig ever! Haven't been back to see other posts so this may be repeating stuff, but anyway here goes with brief report.

The setting was the most exquisite setting for a gig that you could imagine. Quite breathtaking with the ruins all lit up, and the stage was just a mass of sunflowers - beautiful.

It was all seated, but the second Mika came on everyone stood up, and a few people ran to the stage, swiftly followed by hoardes of us - so my seat got used for about 10 seconds before I was out of it and to the front. Yay, front row - if a bit to the side. Security did try to send us all back but it was a hopeless task as none of us were budging, and then John came along and told them to leave us where we were!

Set list - started with Relax, then BG, SITM, Dr John, BB., forget what came next, then KA + Rain, then got distracted by another swarm of security guys trying to move us as a couple of people had managed to get onstage and they were panicking (but we still wouldn't budge!!! And then someone from Mika's organisation told them all to go away and leave us alone, so they slunk off again! Victory!).. Further on there was OMS, HE, Love Today, WAG, GK, Lollipop.

Oh and yes there were BG/LGs for the death march and at the end.

The funniest bit was of course the seat-cushions being hurled all over the place (well there weren't any balloons!) And the stage ended up just awash with the things, despite Mika's attempts to gather them up by the arnful and hurl them back out! He said (referring to the cushion mayhem) that he was so proud to be half Lebanese!

By the end of the show there had been a full-scale stage invasion with dozens of people getting up there, and the secirity guys had just given up completely!

I think quite a few of Mika's family were there - I saw his sister who was looking as cold as I was as we seemed to be the only people there not wearing tons of warm clothes!

Mika and all the guys looked like they were really really enjoying themselves, and the crowd was great - everyone up and dancing even at the back.

I did manage to take a couple of pix, as I took my bag, camera and mobile in. Never even saw a bag deposit place, and no-one stopped people taking pix so don't know what all that stuff that came with the ticket was about!!?!

Oh, my pix look fairly rubbish becsuse I am simply too exciteable to control a camera! I'll see what they look like when I get home, although It may not be till after Eden!

Anyway it's 2.30am now and I have a long flight back tomorrow so guess I should go to bed!

I wouldn't have missed this trip for the world, and I just thank Mika for being the perfect excuse for visiting Lebanon, which is GREAT by the way. I'm not sure any gig will top this one! But then I've never been to the Eden Project before so you never know!

:wub2:

Thanks a lot for the pics and the report... It realy was a golden night...:aah:

Hello evrybody!

I hope you enjoyed the live feed of the gig..

it was so much fun... one of the best gigs ever! as I said before, I didnt have a camera on me so everything i took was with my horrible mobile phone camera.. so the quality is horrible.. and you will need to use your imagination..

Sorry to hear that Enigma froze.. I knew how the weather is going to be and had extra jacket on me.. but the weather was beautiful.. the set fantastic.. so much effort is made to make it look amazing..

the overall crowd had so many diverse ages and social groups... all had one thing in common their love of music and partying.. and they proved it to Mika..

the only difference is that not everybody knew all the lyrics word for word (which is more common in Europe)... but everyone shook their hips and jumped up and down...

of course, like in every gig, there will be those off teenage girls and boys that invade the stage and try to hug mika... but the overall crowd was civilized and genuinely enjoyed their time..

the location is magical.. I have seen a concert there before.. .it it always gives me goose bumps to be in the middle of a magical Roman temple with thousands of people enjoying music..

Mr Penniman had so much energy.. he was friendly and at ease... big smile at all times... very theatrical as usual...

I sensed a great vibe from the whole band.. like they are a bunch of friends performing.. .

His voice was great.. too bad my video doesn't give it justice...

For a Lebanese, it sure made me proud as he mentioned it several times how proud he is.. .and jokingly explained how weak is his arabic.. although it wasn't at all.. and I was very impressed with his vocab ... though his accent is that of an English man

:biggrin2:

The show was entertaining.. he was very energetic.. .like he drank a dozen of red bulls...

over my shoulder was amazing.. his voice intact.. and the whole crowd froze in amazement... he dedicated it to us... and told us that he always wanted to sing it in Lebanon since he wrote it at the age of 15.. .

We are Golden started the craziness... this is when the whole crowd took the seat cushions out and started throwing them in the air... it sort of reminded me of my graduation day when we all threw our hats ...

Mika was pleasantly surprised and even started reciprocating by throwing a bunch of cushions back at the crowd .. this stayed till the end... when he left and the stage invasion started...

I was exhausted and had to leave immediately...

saw John the manager and said hello.. he was the same gentleman as always..

saw the cameraman... as always taking footage of the event...

I have some low resolution pictures that are really bad.. but if you want I can upload...

will also share the videos.. though I only took 2 since i didnt have a good camera and didnt want to waste it looking into a lense instead of jumping up and down

:wink2:

that´s the way it works!! any other manager would have kicked fan´s @ss... things like these make us feel mika so close to us...

i think mika´s and team mika´s behaviour is exemplary...and if we don´t disturb him,he will be so approachable with us as always....

thanx for your reports and your pics and vids girls!!!

i think mika is the most rentable pop star to follow
