Anna Ko Kolkowska
I don't know where to post it so I do it here. It concerns all concerts from this year. So I don't want to call it "fan action". I propose to wear big flowers on our clothes. I am testing some technics to create fabric flowers. But I found as well a really nice fabric flowers in a supermarket at the stand with home decorations. It is about adding a safety pin on it or any other way to attach it to for ex. a jacket. And of course the bigger the better 😀 We still have time to create or buy a flower. They are pretty hard to destroy so we can use it for several gigs. And they fit to any outfit: a jacket, a shirt, a dress or a T-shirt. An organza made flower. A flower found in a supermarket. A flower made of a large ribbon. mellody
It's worth an extra thread, I think. Feel free to adjust the title, if you prefer another one. I like the organza flower! Did you make it?

It's quite easy to make and the flower is very fluffy. I recorded a tutorial yesterday. 4

This was the flower I bought at Tedi's, I removed the stem and instead attached a pin (with hot glue). I would like to make a light pink one but I have to find some fabric.
Anna Ko Kolkowska
I have just tested a new idea . Very simple. Only 4 rectangles, a needle and thread. I love the result! Big and fluffy. I will prepare a tutorial tomorrow. And I will make a bright colour this time. White or blue. VID_20240112_200110530.mp4

Anna Ko Kolkowska
I manged to create a tutorial for the flowers very easy to make with organza, tule or any other light but stiff fabric. I used 4 squares as a general rule. But I made one flower (dark green) with 5 squares and it looks fantastic! So here is a short video with the final results and a link to YouTube tutorial. So if you prefer to make your own flower instead of buying one, here it is. Why is it better to tear the fabric rather than cut it? Is it to get the frayed edge for a fluffy effect?

When you tear it you just need to remove a few threads from edges and it stops fraying.
Anna Ko Kolkowska
How to get organza fabric? Maybe you have a scarf at home and you don't wear it anymore? Or try in secondhand shops or charity shops. There is a lot of Indian scarfs (shawls) for 1-2 EUR. My dark purple flower is made from a scarf. Well, you just need very sharp scissors to do it, no chance with normal paper scissors. My 2010 space costume skirt was made of Organza, that's how know, lol! 😅 I guess I still have some of the fabric left somewhere, so I can use that for flowers. Thanks for the video tutorials! And also for the tip that it stops fraying when you tear it and remove a few threads - I like the fluffy effect!
mellody
Btw, this gives me another "costumes fanaction" idea - for some of the gigs we could all dress as the different Mika albums? I remember the girl with the clouds suit from the Paris signing, that'd be one great example for QTTFT. My space costume is for TBWKTM, and I remember seeing some fantastic LICM designed jackets / outfits over the years too. MNIMH is a bit harder maybe... or very easy, with just a face painting. I remember for some of the Revelation tour gigs, some had their names written on their cheeks like it is on Mika's album cover.
Anna Ko Kolkowska
I went to the Action store and I found these beautiful big flowers for about 2 EUR a piece.

It's too plain on the front though. https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1553751862/womens-retro-sunburst-rainbow-puffer?ref=share_v4_lx Or this kids jacket in an adult size. Or t shirt I guess if anyone is handy with fabric paints, they could do it at home. Edited January 17 by Hero
Anna Ko Kolkowska
New testing. One flower from a green tule. Two organzas: white and blue made with a different technique. I have to buy red or pink or yellow fabric. Seeing Mika's story he will use very saturated colours for his outfits 😜 Edited January 21 by Anna Ko Kolkowska

Anna Ko Kolkowska
I have now about 20 flowers that I will distribute before the concerts. My two first venues are in Lille and Rouen. Meanwhile I will make or buy some more for my next two dates for Grenoble and Lyon. So I will see how it works. Hero
Bought a couple of large artificial peonies in the supermarket, on special offer for clearance. I'm thinking, trim the stems, and use a lot of large safety pins to keep in place.

Anna Ko Kolkowska
I have made one flower which looks pretty much like the Mika's one in the video C'est la vie. But mine is ecru not pale pink - I didn't find a fabric of this color. And it's big - about 20 cm of diameter
