mellody Posted September 22, 2009 Share Posted September 22, 2009 Mika and I After calling him Sir and me pulling some gawky face thanx for the pix caz, looks like you all had a fab time! on the pic i quoted, that ice cream hand is not mika's, is it? cause the ring isn't there on the other pix. i first thought it was his hand and was wondering as i've never seen him wear any rings... but when i didn't see the ring on the other pix, i noticed that it probably wasn't his hand after all. and thanx everyone else for pix, reports and videos! looks like it was almost as small as the munich gig last week! great to see that some more people got to see him in such an intimate atmosphere. Okay, this is gonna be long, sorry:naughty: I started out, at 6.30am, and drove up to London expecting to be held up by horrendous traffic being a Monday morning. I was pleasently surprised that I didn't get as badly held up as I thought and got to Hammersmith by 8.45am, therefore having to wait for HMV to open, to get my copy of the album (de luxe, nice:wink2:). Went on tube to Brick Lane, it goes straight to Algate East from Hammersmith, so no changes, brilliant! Got to Brick Lane about 9.30am, couldn't see anyone I knew so got a cuppa and twittered and came on here to say I'd arrived. After 10 mins I went walking up the top of Drays Walk, where the pickup was happening, and met with Jammotronix(probably spelt that wrong, sorry Sophie), Steph, Agathaxx and her friend, who'd all got there about 7.30 or just after. So got talking with them. Then CazGirl and Danika arrived, and just after Bexxy, who I had to get from the front of the brewery on Brick Lane where the taxi dropped her. After that Olga, Meggi, Babs, Sari and others started arriving, and it started looking like an MFC convention:roftl: Just around 11.30ish the ice cream van turned up, and about 12, Iain, Mikas manager arrived. REALLY nice guy, lovely smile, and helped put up the posters with Ross another sweet guy, very friendly. The problem with the posters were they big, and they used tiny amounts of Blu Tack to put them up, and when you get gusts of wind blowing into them, it means flying posters!:roftl: About 12.30ish, security got us to queue up by the van, so we had an inkling Mika wasn't far away, especially when he tweeted he was on his way. At about 1pm or just after, he arrived, looking very dapper in a waistcoat trousers and THOSE blue braces:wub2:. He went into the ice cream van, which he clearly wasn't built to be in:naughty:, and started handing out the ice creams and tickets. Security said after getting said items we had to move away from the truck to keep the queue moving, so didn't get a pic with him unfortunately, but I joked about having no chocolate sprinkles and he laughed, and gave me 2 wristbands with my icecream. Then I went and had a chat with John, who is becoming increasingly friendly, he's a lovely guy with a great sense of humour. After I just stood opposite the van with Bexxy, and listened to Lonely Alcholic on her MP3 (had the Elbow song in my head all morning, and it was starting to drive me mad, so needed a distraction:naughty:), watching Mika give out the ice creams and bands, got a nice picture of him doing that. Then when he'd done he went and did the interview, some went to crowd round him, but the big security guy blocked them, and told them to be quiet every now and then. Then he went, so Bexxy and I chatted a little to the others and went up to Waterloo for lunch before going to Paul O Gradys show. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
