  1. daisylou, you are either the luckiest girl on the planet or you know Mika from a previous life. Holy cow! 6 KISSES! If that happened to me I would gladly die and go to heaven! BTW - happy birthday! But something tells me it already is - a very, very happy birthday!!!! Cheers!
  2. Hey all you guys are soooo funny - I really got a kick out of reading this thread today - racy or what ?!? It just reminded me what I've been missing all these years (how pathetic is that?!?) Oh well.... Love love the shirtless chicken suit .. gggaaahhhhhhhhhh... No coincidence one of his covers lately is "Sweet Dreams" .......
  3. Yay Perez! I really believe his heart is in the right place!
  4. Yeah, the cost of living out here is a little outrageous! Forget housing - it's through the roof (pun intended!) I've been living in the same apartment (rental) for the last 11 1/2 years and luckily there have only been 2 very reasonable rent increases. So I'm not going anywhere! But buying property here is totally CRAZY!!! So expensive!!!
  5. He will not stay at #61 for long! Wait 'til after June. I predict his popularity to skyrocket! He just needs more exposure in the U.S.
  6. Well, I've lived on both coasts (actually as far east as Quebec, I haven't been to the Maritimes, would LOVE to go there, heard it's GORGEOUS!!!) Montreal is my hometown, lived there the first 22 years of my life. It's a beautiful city but I would never want to live there again. Don't like the climates - political or weather. I've never regretted my move out here. Vancouver, as you know is sooo beautiful. Plus the lifestyle here is one of the main things that attracted me to the "Wet Coast". I always thought that this was the place where I would want to bring up a family. Well, things don't always work out the way you want them to, but that's okay. I'm still glad I'm here.
  7. We would love to see you here! Where does your sister live now?
  8. Great to meetya! Don't ya wish Mika would pay a visit to us poor souls on the Wet Coast? LOL.
  9. Ohhhhhhhh jassisa, I'm so soooooo sorry for you. That must be such a disappointment! Please don't be too down - I'm sure there will be other opportunities for you to meet Mika. He will most likely be performing for many more years to come! Y'know, I'm actually not surprised at all about his illness - he is working 'way too hard and his immune system is starting to suffer as a result of this! Trust me, this I know from personal experience. Now I'm getting worried about him. I hope he sees this as a wakeup call and starts to rest more and take better care of himself. Poor guy! I guess he just wants to perform so much and please his fans that he's putting himself last. Not a good idea. Please Mika, if you are reading this, get well soon!!! We all love and care for you so much!
  10. Hey, welcome Stormy Weather, no you are definitely not the only crazy Canuck here in MFC land. I, too, am from Vancouver - actually North Vancouver. Wherabouts do you live? Aren't we so lucky to live in the most beautiful spot on earth? (No, we're not prejudiced!)
  11. Mika proves once again what an absolute sweetheart he is! 1st mention of a concert in Montreal and I'll be on the plane from Vancouver! Maybe he'll have a Canadian tour and come to Vancouver next?!? Well, we can always dream, can't we???
  12. No kidding that's obscene! I can get return airfare from Vancouver to London for $500!!!! Unbelievable!!!
  13. What would a T.O. to Boston return ticket set you back?
  14. Actually it's probably much better if I did see him on the West Coast. The only thing is that I don't have a passport (yet) and it is a major hassle to get one now! But I guess I just gotta bite the bullet and get myself down to the waiting line and get that illusive document. It's not that I'm lazy, it's just that I've been horribly sick forever and it was a major effort to do anything. Believe me, it's high on my "To-Do list".
  15. You are probably right - I easily could've heard wrong and actually would like to know what the correct lyrics are. Sometimes it's hard to tell in Mika's songs - it's certainly happened to me in other songs. So, if anybody knows the real lyrics - please post. I will immediately correct my signature. Thanks for the info!
  16. No, I'm not in Montreal, I'm in Vancouver, B.C. - was born in Montreal but that was when dinosaurs roamed the earth! Wish I could've gone to the Club Soda gig - I hear it was historic - even Mika said so! About Osheago - yeah, I checked with their website a couple of weeks ago - he was not confirmed to perform but they said something to the effect of "but anything's possible". Well, I won't hold my breath....
  17. I have my own interpretations (pardon the pun) of what "Stuck in the Middle" is about. I think the meaning is multi-faceted. Being a middle-child is only part of the explanation. If I am correct about the rest, then Mika is wise to speak little about it.
  18. Just out of curiosity, which one of the U.S. dates is not selling well? To tell you the honest truth, and I have said this recently in another thread, I am surprised at how much better Mika is faring in Canada than in the U.S. For instance, if you go by the top 100 songs, Grace Kelly has been in the top 10 songs in Canada since it's release back in February. In the U.S. it has been down around 94!!!! Amazing but true! He is just not getting the kind of buzz there that he has here and in Europe. Maybe that will change in June when he does his tour there. That remains to be seen, I guess. I was hoping he was going to perform at the Osheaga Festival in September but that looks like a no-go. Maybe something will materialize after that. Who knows? I guess we just have to wait and see.
  19. Hi Again !!! Do I ever know that view! I only spent the first 22 years of my life there! Such a beautiful city - those pictures are gorgeous - even managing to make me a little homesick, which is quite amazing! I also like your Mika quote - I heard him say that in the interview after the Club Soda gig - man! that must've been quite the show!!! I don't know about you but I'm finding it harder and harder lately with all the buzz of the European and American fans getting excited about upcoming concerts, while we have NONE slated. It kind of pisses me off a bit, to say the least. Just envious, not angry at any of them, of course. But I don't think it's humanly possible for Mika to be overextending himself any more than he already is. Do not wanna see the poor guy burn out! I also wish they would release the Love Today video here as well. I've been checking i-tunes every week since it's release. They were selling it in the U.K. i-tunes right away, same with the new single. I dunno - I sometimes feel like we just dropped off the face of the map..... Even more reason for us to stick together .....
  20. Hey Sivan - Just seeing it now for the 1st time - N I C E ! ! ! ! :punk: 'Way to go Girl ! When do they go on sale ???
  21. G'day Y'All - Feel so bad all around that one news item can generate so much anxiety, worry and angst. BUT --- MIKA IS SMART AND RESOURCEFUL !!!! He gets it! I believe he'll pace himself, and he'll do okay - he loves his music which is SO important and he has TONS of support - family and fans! He doesn't strike me as being impulsive - could never imagine him "pulling a 'Britney'" - He has always demonstrated excellent judgement and has made wise decisions based on his own terms. He just has to remember not to let the "vulture paps" under his skin. No one ever said this was going to be easy. At best, stardom is a rocky road. A lot of blood, sweat and tears go into this, not to mention sacrifice on many levels. If this is what Mika really wants, then he will do this, and he will make whatever adjustments that he has to along the way. And we, as his fans, will continue to love him and support him in whatever way we can.
  22. I am sooooo sure that Mika knew what he was getting into when he signed on for this job! Of course there is a certain percentage of this that is papparazzi influence - there always is! From now on, everything he says, does, thinks, drinks, ingests, breathes, etc.etc. (I'm not gonna get that graphic!) is gonna be fair game for the press. That's the way it is when you're a star. He can sneeze and tomorrow in the press it's pneumonia. You get the drill. So let's all save the tears for something that really warrants it. Although, to be REALLY honest, when I saw the headline, I thought my heart was gonna jump outta my chest! I really thought there was a death in the family or something. I really hate these f******g guys - they just play on our emotions to sell their freakin' stories!!!!!
  23. Yeah, you and me both - it is so bizarre but I was talking with someone else just tonite on another thread about the downward spiral of celebrities - now I'm feeling incredibly spooked! This happens to me all the time - like self-fulfilled prophecy..... I would be so horribly choked if something terrible happened to Mika, of all people!!! No, no, it's gonna be okay, right???? By the way, I LOVE your name, my cat's name is Cali.....
  24. Just received this e-mail tonight 05/16/07 @12:20 a.m. from contactmusic.com : "British pop star MIKA is having trouble coping with the demands of fame - he has been forced to sacrifice his private life. The Grace Kelly star insists he has to concentrate on his music-making skills instead of finding time to enjoy his celebrity status. He says, "It's sad but I just don't have a private life anymore. I have to focus on my music and I have absolutely no time for anything else."
  25. Just catching them now - they are so sooooo coooooooooollllllllllllll!!!! Thanks so much for posting! He looks so young and cute and happy and a little bit tired !!!! As thatpinksock would say "delish" !!!!! :wub2:
