  1. Guys, guys - Great Great idea to get our boy on both Oprah and Ellen!!! If he gets on Oprah he will FOR Sure be famous EVERYWHERE!!! And if you want La Grand Dame to consider him for her show you have to emphasize the right stuff. Play up the difficult childhood, the bullying, the evacuation from Lebanon due to civil war, the dyslexia, the rejections from the record companies.... etc. Oprah LOVES rags to riches stories! She is an advocate for the underdog. She herself survived a horribly (sexually) abusive childhood and teenage years only to become the amazing success that she is today. (She's a billionaire, but her real success is the amazing charities, foundations, schools and other projects to help the underpriveledged and impoverished worldwide. This woman must have the biggest heart known to Man/Womankind. She is a person who respects and in turn is respected. I think she would find Mika impressive and defintely worthy of respect. Now: Ellen's Show - WHAT A HOOT THAT WOULD BE!!! Yes, I too have that image of the two of them boogying together onstage and in the audience! I can actually imagine it turning into a big masquerade party where Mika and the band would be wearing their Teddy Bear Picnic attire and asking audience members to dance. Lots of confetti! Lots of balloons, sparkle and glitter! Contest for best costume: winner gets 2 Mika tickets, show of their choice, free airfair, hotel and - get this - dinner with the band! Do I know how to PARTAY???????????? SO??????????? Whaddya think????????
  2. I'm so soooo sorry that has happened to you! Some people just really DO NOT GET IT!!! But often times good things come from bad ones. I've got my fingers crossed for you that this is one of those times..... Good Luck!
  3. I hate to rain on everyone's parade here,but.... that article was written in early February... that's 3 months ago.... by now Mika can have his pick of anybody IN THE WORLD....... Sorry guys... Oh welll...........we can always dreammmmmmm mmmmm....
  4. I cannot believe the level of Mikaness that is going on!!! The fever is just spreading like wildfire - from country to country, continent to continent!!! Everybody wants a piece of Mika. There is just something soooo special about the man! Call it CRAZY! Call It CHARISMA!!! I've been around the music scene for awhile and seen my share of some pretty outstanding concerts - real heavies like Pink Floyd and the Moody Blues. They were pretty phenomenal, to be sure - but I really can't remember any musician instilling such excitement in me as Mika! I've definitely never been part of a fan club - even when the Beatles were in their prime! (That, in itself, speaks volumes!) Anyways, ours is not to question why...... what I do know is we're all onto something pretty damn terrific! Hang on tight, guys- it's going to be a thrilling ride!!!!!!
  5. On the Plus Side: With so much medical/psychiatric knowledge she can EASILY protect you from any psycho, lunatic, lowlife or stalker that may cross your path. Get on her good side - she will hide you and take very good care of you. You may even become a friend for life.
  6. The hoodie costs $37.49 and the T-shirt is $29.99. That's U.S. funds - with the exchange (I'm in Canada) and tax it's gonna be more. But who cares - it's MIKA STUFF - RIGHT ???? :punk: Now all I need is a concert to go to !!!
  7. Calicojasmine: Still Waters Run Deep. Appears selfless, altruistic, always available to lend a helping hand. Personally and professiionally advocates for the underdog - both two-legged and four-legged varieties (pardon the pun). CAUTION!!! Do not be fooled for one moment! These traits are a clever but diabolical ruse to win your trust, lower your guard and leave you defenceless. Has psychotic and homicidal tendencies. NEVER EVER TURN YOUR BACK ON HER !!!!!
  8. Oh, the t-shirt looks so great on you! I ordered a black one and also a hoodie. I should only look half as good !!!
  9. I recently received a response to my e-mail to the Osheaga Festival. They advised that Mika was NOT confirmed to perform there. They then added, "although, anything is possible". ???? I posted this earlier today in the thread "Tour Dates".
  10. Hey, what's wrong with calling a boy "Alice"? Remember the old Johnny Cash song "A Boy Named Sue" ? BTW - Mika can name his kids anything he wants, I doubt anyone would dare argue or care.......
  11. I finally heard back from the Osheaga Festival website. According to them, Mika is not confirmed to perform there but did say, "anything is possible". ???
  12. I just read somewhere that they were thinking of giving that role to Borat - yknow - Sascha Baron Cohen. ???? I don't know about that.....Sorta similar looks... My vote's on Jonny Depp ANY DAY!!! :mf_lustslow:
  13. I met both Howard Cosell (the famous U.S. sports broadcaster) amd O.J. Simpson (before he became a total whack-job) at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal. The thing that stood out in my mind the most was when O.J. shook my hand was how HUGE his hands were!!! A little creepy, or what?
  14. *MEGA HUG TO YOU JU.Thulc.-girl * Thank you for sharing. That is the secret to giving and receiving help. And with all the beautiful people here in MFC we can all truly benefit.
  15. Hey Valv, you are so right on the money about Karma. People really do get what's coming to them. It may not happen that day, that week, month or year, but at some point the universe has it's way of righting the wrongs. I will give you an incredibly sad example: I was molested by a neighbourhood kid when I was 5 years old (he was babysitting.) I never told anyone about it until much, much later, when I was an adult. In any case, many years later, when this man was all grown up and had kids of his own, he was living in Canada and was going down to the States to visit one of his sons. He was waiting at the airport for his son to pick him up, but his son never showed up. That's because his son was killed in a car crash on his way to the airport to get his dad. Now this man has to live with not only a terrible tragic loss but I'm sure he must feel a helluva lot of guilt, too. Justin Timberlake must've had kind of had an epiphany when he wrote the song "What Goes Around...." Even though we may feel some sense of satisfaction or revenge to see our abuser "get his', it's all still very, very sad for all concerned. But at least in my case there is some good news. I didn't let this guy destroy my life.
  16. That infuriates me when I hear about stuff like that. That just perpetuates the problem when adults ignore it (more like "denial", big time!) Then this whole neurosis branches into kids committing suicide and /or getting their hands on some pretty harsh weapons and going to school and taking out 32 classmates and profs! It's SHEER INSANITY!!!!!!!!! Columbine, Virginia Tech, Dawson College.....ad nauseum.....!!!!! We cannot cannot cannot cannot look away and continue to delude ourselves any longer! This can no longer be termed a problem - it is a tragedy and it has reached EPIDEMIC PROPORTIONS!!!!!!!!! What needs to happen before some serious planning, focusing and legislating takes place?
  17. Thanks Kjoshi, that's very sweet of you to say that! Y'know, when all is said and done and you can say something like "That which doesn't kill you...." it all seems so easy! But when you're actually enduring all the pain and suffering.... definitely not a whole lot of fun!!!! But it's truly amazing how people tend to underestimate themselves - we have much more resilience, courage and strength than we give ourselves credit for. People worry so much about what would happen to them if they were struck with disaster, and the ensuing destruction. It's all very simple, really. If you fall flat on your face - you get up!
  18. Y'know, there's just no accounting for bad taste! And I'm NOT referring to the MFC!!!
  19. Enfa, I just noticed your lovely response today. Thank you so much! *humongous hug* I am open about it because I choose to use my experiences to help others, through empathy and education. Also, having been a patient all my life, who better than me to advocate for sick and dying people than myself? I have years and years of experience, both personally and professionally. The old adage "That which doesn't kill you makes you strong" is certainly true! We all have choices in our lives. We can lie down and be our tormentor's doormat or we can stand up, take control and fight back.Obviously I can't speak for anyone else but my decision is crystal clear. I choose the latter every time.
  20. He's like the Energizer Bunny...... He just keeps going.. and going... and going...... and soooooooo hoooottttttt.....
  21. My life can easily be regarded as a "greek tragedy" - years of trauma and turmoil which I won't get into detail about, but will emphasize many years of darkness, pain , suffering and loneliness. Basically I shut down in every possible way - physically, mentally and emotionally. I have been fighting demons all of my life. But a strange thing happened when Mika arrived on the scene. His music POPPED - it was COLOURFUL, like all the cartoon characters, it was HAPPY, it was INFECTIOUS. It was impossible to ignore. It was like a ray of sunshine was beamed down from heaven - and it unlocked my heart. Suddenly I could feel again. "Grace Kelly" had me be-bopping down the street; "Your Sympathy" moved me to tears. To my utter amazement I could once again experience the full spectrum of emotions. It opened my soul and incredibly I have reached out to humanity - the MikaFanClub! And knowing I'm not alone is just the lollipop on the cake. How lucky we are to have a star like Mika in our midst! True talent must be nurtured, celebrated and cherished. Celebrities are a dime a dozen but icons are more like comets - they don't happen everyday and are they ever something special to watch! Mika is one such comet. And his star continues to rise every day........
  22. You know you're obsessed with Mika when you start carrying pictures of him in your wallet. You know you're really obsessed with Mika when you start showing off these pictures to your therapist. And things are really out of hand when you're old enough to be his mother!
  23. Wow Julie! That is 'way above and beyond the call of duty! Super work! I enjoyed it immensely! Thanks and Kudos! You rule!!!! :punk:
  24. Love all the pics! LOVE LOVE LOVE THE PANTS!!! :wub2: MIKA RULES !!!
  25. Mine's a done deal too. But I'll be back to vote some more!
