1. don't you think he'll choose that himself, or at least supports this idea? he's often retweeting or answering fans, maybe they'll choose from those he retweets/answers. or he chooses himself and it was his idea because it'd make it easier for him to stalk us. maybe he said, i want to follow some of my fans because they're writing interesting things, but it'd be unfair to follow only some fans because others would feel left out. and so they found a fair way to let him do it. i also wouldn't like the idea of his team tweeting/following etc. from his account, if they want to do that they should start an extra account for that. this one is and should stay his personal account, imo.
2. ah yes. not available in germany. i could have expected that, same as always. but if it's just the audio from the track by tracks, that's alright. thanks for the info mari.
3. what am i missing? i can hear the songs, but no comments, although it says with commentary in the playlist? where are they? and what does he say, is it just the audio from the track by track videos, or something new?
4. LOL, that bit made me nearly fall off my chair laughing! thanks for your pix and especially the detailled report, loved reading about your super-special choir experience!
5. from what i've seen in videos, the choir mainly has to sing the choruses though, not the whole lyrics, that makes it much easier... and you'll get told in your confirmation mail a few days before the gig which songs to learn, so you wouldn't have to learn ALL mika songs. that list of songs was even posted on mfc somewhere, so you could already start learning them now. anyway, if you can sing and would like to do it, i think you should give it a try. btw, i've written you a PM here on mfc a few weeks ago, did you get it? how would you know?! in any case, there's a difference between being able to sing at home in your living room, or on a stage in front of 1000 people, with mika right next to you , and with a microphone. i haven't sung on a stage with a microphone very often yet, and the times i did i felt like i couldn't sing at all anymore in that moment - you don't really hear yourself, or only via the speakers, it's a big difference. but well ok i guess they'll tell the choir members how to do it right... i guess i'm just... (just found this new smiley here on mfc... )
6. you can always film the tv picture with your camera... would be better than nothing.
7. just read on facebook that monie and ingie will be in the fan choir for amsterdam. lovely to see familiar faces in the choir! (and i hope we'll get detailed reports from the girls! ) edit: congrats ingie!! really happy for you, i know how much you wanted to get in!
8. yes i also think it's a good idea they're checking applicants, no one would want people up there who sing the wrong notes. neither us as fans, nor would i want them to accept me if they don't think i'm good enough to do it without ruining mika's wonderful songs. you can send in only one video for one show though, so i don't think it will be the same people applying for each gig. it makes sense, so they won't get more e-mails/videos than necessary. just if they don't find enough people for one city, i think it can't hurt to write in the e-mail that you'll also be at other gigs, just in case. but of course i'd be perfectly happy to do it only in munich - it's a fantastic chance and surely a great experience, but it definitely is WORK, as opposed to just stand in the crowd and enjoy the gig. a very enjoyable work, but still work.
9. judging from the credits at the end of the video, it looks like it's kind of a family business what they're doing... the parents probably arranging for the girls to get the interviews. nice to have such parents. lovely interview, but towards the end they seem more like fans not wanting to let him go than professional interviewers - which of course i can understand, lol!
10. no news about this gig yet? anyway, i've opened a reports thread: http://www.mikafanclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=27539
11. The second LA gig! Were you there? Tell us all about it! (As usual, please keep chit chat to a minimum) ================== REPORTS ================== BangBangLou http://www.mikafanclub.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3824481&postcount=23 ================== PICS ================== BangBangLou http://www.mikafanclub.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3824504&postcount=25 http://www.mikafanclub.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3824508&postcount=27 ================== VIDEOS ================== BangBangLou Mika interviewed @ AXS TV
12. mika retweetet a tweet about the LA show (i think the tweet was about the first LA show, but not sure with the time zones... ): @boltofblue7609 7 hrs on sidewalk then another 2 inside venue = so worth it to be front row for @mikasounds tonight. Hot, sweaty, ridiculously fun show! no, from the videos i've seen they're just on stage for the songs they are singing. 8 songs or so, they go off stage in between. but they also do choreographies, like, mika shoots them and they fall on the floor, or they kneel on the floor and then jump up. if you can't do things like that, maybe it's best to mention it in the e-mail you write to them. if they like your singing, maybe they still offer you the chance to be in the choir and find a way to take special care of your health condition, so you won't have to take part in the choreographies but just sing.
13. haha suzie i just read your RSVP comment - LOOL!! any MFCers trying for the polka dot choir in vienna? i'm gonna apply for the munich gig, but might write in my e-mail that if they need people for vienna, i'd be up for that as well. i'm curious as to how it will work out with the choir... i remember at the gig in stuttgart in 2010 they didn't find any people as LG/BG dancers, although they even had it in the local newspaper! and as a LG/BG you didn't need much talent, this time they even have to find people who can sing. and are over 21. so i guess at some gigs it's gonna be interesting...
14. yup, i'll try to get in the choir. you too ruth? anyone else?
15. in berlin mika told us that there were insurance problems with getting fans on stage... maybe he meant stage invasions, and it has to be performers so they're covered by the insurance policy? the BG and LG dancers always were told that it's at their own risk. like, if they fall off stage or anything like that. or he might have meant the minimum required age of 21. for the US it's the legal age, but i think for most of europe that's 18. i could imagine though that it's an US insurance contract and that's why they require the US legal age. btw they got the deadline wrong for munich, oct 20 is over already, i guess it should read oct 30. anyway i'll definitely try my luck and also wish good luck to everyone else who will!
16. don't know, something about the hat, but i don't understand it. if it's "mean hat", then either someone said sth to him at the gig, or he has been stalking MFC again.
17. i found 3 videos of this gig on youtube, by user mmmmpopmuzik, quite good and close-up recordings. Blue Eyes: Billy Brown: Stuck in the middle (with new intro)
18. aww, i haven't seen this video before! yes, his hair there... mega-fluff, haha!
19. true... at work i always get mixed up with a colleague, though she has bright blue eyes and i have brown ones. it's a job i only do a few times a months, so it's not like they see us every day... but in any case, they mix us up because figure, hair, and maybe also a bit our faces are similar - but the eye colour is totally different. me too, but... damn! it kinda makes me sad that this beautiful beautiful fluffy hair of his will be gone at some time.
20. Happy Ending: Literal Video Version - watch more funny videos and here's the mfc thread about it: http://www.mikafanclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26818
21. lol! i think it'll be good. i love the video for celebrate and i think i'll like this one as well. usually nowadays you don't really get bad computer animations anymore, and i don't think mika would accept that for his video. not now with the new album, not for this song underwater that he likes so much. the video for elle me dit was done in a rush i think, because it wasn't even planned to release the song - so no wonder that it's rubbish.
22. maybe if it's bad then at least we might get a funny version again like the happy ending literal version.
23. haha, brilliant! love it! if he does the fan choir thing for europe, we should all send this in as an application video.
24. body double?! mika doesn't need that! i really hope he won't ever have a body double for his videos! as they were preparing the shoes and jacket with fire, and mika's face makeup looks like that as well, i'd guess that something is burning in the video, before he gets on that tiny boat. maybe the ship he was on originally. or it's a metaphor - he got burnt by love, but his new love is so fresh and soothing like water and can make him breathe underwater. or something like that. as for bag of lights, i also have no clue what he means... maybe the chandelier on the boat?
25. we need to start an anti-hat and pro-hair petition! ok i'd say that's a good reason to watch his gigs only from front row and not from the balcony! let's just hope he'll keep his hair for a while... i know a few guys whose hair is also a bit lighter on the top of their head, but it has been like that for 5 or 10 years without getting worse, so there's still hope.
