  1. i'd say, let people dress up if they want to, and let people come in normal clothes if they prefer that. i love dressing up, always did, and i'm happy that the mika gigs give me more opportunities to do so - although it's not so common anymore as it used to be, and sometimes i might be the only one. but i don't mind at all - ok maybe a little bit, lol, of course i'd love to see fancy dress costumes all over, all the colours and glitter and stuff, i really enjoy that... but it's everyone's own decision, so like i don't want anyone to tell me to not dress up, i won't (and can't) tell anyone to do it. i'm also saying, if you feel like dressing up, do it, even if you're the only one. i walked through belfast with a sequin star on my face, and i'm PROUD if people ask me about it, to say that i'm going to a mika gig and that they should come as well, as it's the best party they could find. i never got any negative reactions about it (except for that teenage blogger who called me "the silly blue one" - but then was happy when i gave her a balloon! ), probably because i feel good about it, as that is me. i've always loved fancy dress and glitter and feathers and all that stuff, and if i see an opportunity to wear that, and i feel like it, i will. sometimes a full costume, like in ireland, and sometimes just a bit of glitter in my face. and about mika, didn't he also say back in 2007, that he could do something else instead, like mottos (and he did talk about doing some dresscode for LA in october, though finally he ended up not doing it...)? or did that part come up on mfc? don't remember... but i remember that i heard of what mika had said the day of the newcastle gig, when i was wearing my gray skelly costume for the first time, and i suddenly felt bad about it, because andy even mentioned it to me. mika totally made up for that though by telling me how much he loved my costume - so i really wouldn't rate what he said about not dressing up too high. we know he says a lot of things, he probably just was p*ssed off when he heard about that other band copying him. he also showed us his appreciation in hanover when we all turned up with sequins in our faces. not to forget the sophie blackall outfits by kanni&antoine in berlin on the acoustic tour, which he also loved. so IMO that he doesn't TELL his fans anymore to dress up at gigs doesn't mean that he doesn't like it. so like i said, if everyone does what they feel good with, everyone should be happy.
  2. yup, i also think a pub is better for the evening. hmm, dunno, are there any markets in london on saturdays, still in the afternoon? that might be interesting... or we could just walk around a bit/go by bus, oxford street, picadilly circus, westminster abbey, tower bridge... the usual stuff. or if the weather is good, go for a walk in hyde park, that's quite nice. and lots of squirrels there.
  3. yup, me and statue_of_liberty will also be there already sat afternoon and would love to join you. any specific plans yet? guess we'd be ready for a meet-up from around 3pm, hammersmith area or city centre.
  4. ok, thanx anyway, will just watch them all then when i have time.
  5. of course he does. i just meant because you said you also weren't able to answer all of his questions coz you didn't pay attention to the merch, lighting etc. argh, whatever, just forget it.
  6. sorry, didn't take pix... but i remember it had the album cover artwork on the front and was available in different colours. i remember the purple one, as i liked that best.
  7. poor andy, seems like he's having a hard time finding the right people to interview. i'm completely rubbish talking to a camera and hardly ever understand andy's questions because he speaks with such a low voice, and you guys can't tell him either what he wants to hear, lol! well, guess mika has to rely on twitter then for the fans' feedback. tho andy interviewed you for quite a while in dublin, guess you did manage to give him some good feedback then.
  8. thanx sara! can't watch all of them now, but do you remember if there's the band introduction in any of them? would love to see/hear that again. but can't remember before/after which song it was. love it that you have the beginning of toyboy, where everyone's cheering for him, and the bit with his water bottle.
  9. i mentioned it in the belfast thread. guess they had it in dublin too, but the merch stand in dublin was very hidden, not everyone saw it.
  10. but... but... ok, yes. nah, seriously, the band usually doesn't come out at the same time as mika, i think - and somehow i saw jimmy almost every time, cherisse+martin+imma quite often, but never david so far.
  11. ah thanx! so they changed the order a little, compared to dublin+sheffield, biotg and any other world have swapped places btw, did he do the biotg singing competition yesterday and today? bedtime sounds good, should do that as well. night everyone!
  12. oh wooow, that piano looks fab! bit blurry, but... love his chair dancing! so, was the setlist the same like yesterday? thanx also to marylin for your report!
  13. btw, i need to get a pic with david some time on this tour. and with imma too. in dublin i just saw jimmy+imma, but i was in the queue for the mika m+g so i didn't go up to them (i really like them, but i won't risk missing mika because of them! ) but just waved. didn't see any of the others though. actually, i've never seen david go into or leave a venue, iirc. he's the invisible man. or i'm just blind.
  14. aww, love it, my pix of the inside of the theatre turned out really blurry. so beautiful! here's finally a link to all of my pix: http://www.mikafanclub.de/bilder-dublin.php
  15. here's finally a link to all my belfast pix: http://www.mikafanclub.de/bilder-belfast.php - mods, please add to the first post?
  16. that pic doesn't show for me... guess it's twitpic? then you can't post the pic, only the link. anyway, uploaded all my pix now, but too tired to put them on the website as well, will do that tomorrow. for a start, here are a few of them:
  17. just uploaded all my pix, but too tired now to integrate them in my website too... so here are a few, rest will follow tomorrow. and when i look at the setting in this pic, i'm getting that feeling again that the gig felt somehow strange and not mika-ish - i'm pretty sure meanwhile that it was that damn venue that made me feel like that, it was like in a school! of which you could actually think that it would fit to mika's stage set, but well, it didn't imo.

  19. don't think i'll be able to afford this, as the milk thingie already went to 350 pounds. but i placed my bid anyway, as the point in this is make the price go up as much as possible, to help haiti as much as possible. currently i'm winning. but it's still on for 6 days.
  20. agree with the first part. and about the 2nd, i don't think/hope those who were talking about fans moving along the queue meant us - i don't think it's ok to go to the end of the queue again to have another moment with mika (unless he tells you to, like it was the case with one person in dublin). but to follow mika along the queue to take pix of him, keeping enough distance so not to bother him, the security people, or anyone whose turn it is to meet him, is perfectly ok imo. like you said, some might be happy about those pix - not only if you're in them, i have some fab pix which i'll post for all of you later, and don't think i got in anyone's way by taking them. of course it's a totally different thing if people shout at mika to look into their camera, but luckily i saw no one doing that in dublin (think it was the case in berlin at the acoustic tour though. ). there were enough who mobbed him though.
  21. thanx for your report biekje, love reading about your BG experiences!
