I have to admit the song bores me so much I haven't really taken the time to have a proper look at the lyrics (yet).

When I come to think of it, it's a bit ironic that Mika's two new songs, which are both really happy tracks, don't make me happy, contrary to so many of his other ambiguous songs. And that's the aspect I love the most about his "old" songs; the original, admirable contrast there is between the happy tune and the sometimes sorrowful lyrics...

Even though I wasn't at the gig, I especially agree with the bold parts. I saw the two videos and my reaction was: plain... Let's wait and see; I shall wait for the release of TOOL and other gig reports... ^^ -

Oh god... I'm sorry but while some people don't like others to moan about Mika's new style, I think everybody has the right to have an opinion. I have the impression that some people luuuuuuv the new songs just because they're Mika's. Well those have to accept the fact that others just don't like the songs. Of course it's normal for an artist to evolve and of course I didn't expect Mika to stick to the same stuff forever - I'm not so naive. Yet, there's a reason why I loved the old Mika and his art. And now, well, I don't see the things I used to love any more. And it's not about the colourful, teenage stuff (although I have to admit I love this aspect). As for the "Mikaish" aspect of it all, who are we to judge whether his new music is Mikaish or not? I mean, only Mika knows himself. That's not the point. I guess there's the "old Mikaish" and "new Mikaish" now Oh and by the way, it's not just the 2 new songs. I don't like those we got from live gigs either ("Underwater" and the Karen one, I think?). I just didn't want to express my opinion yet, because live versions are a bit crappy, quality-wise. But of course, I'll buy the new album and give my final opinion once I've listened to all the songs a couple of times ^^

I think Mika looks very good. He's really handsome. And I quite like the new website, although I have to say I liked the old, colourful, funky one better XD So I don't really mind Mika's new style. But then, Mika is not about how good he looks but how he sounds and I don't like his new songs. As far as performing is concerned, I'm really happy I got to see him 5 times while he was still eccentric and original. Because to be honest, I don't see the originality in "Make You Happy" and "Celebrate"... So yeah, I'm worried... But we still have the old songs ^^

All right so after a few listens, here is my opinion. I don't like the song. I wish I did, but I don't. I'm disappointed by the *lack of* melody and I don't know, maybe it's my laptop speakers, but Mika's voice just disappears behind this electronic music that I don't like... The "chorus" (all I wanna do is make you happy) does my head in to be honest... Where's the colour? I mean, when I listen to his other songs, I see colours in my head. This one's grey. Doesn't make me happy I REALLY hope the whole album is not like that. -
That sucks!! I'd love to go but the problem is always the same: how to I go back home??? Grml.... =(

Erm yeah... I think I'll wait for the recorded versions, but I have to say I'm not at all impressed by either 82 Rue des Martyrs nor Blame it on the Weather... The quality isn't good so it doesn't help... Blame it on the Weather bores me and 82 is, don't know... Why does he want to sing in French? I'm a French speaker so obviously, I like my language, but I've always thought that English is a far better language for music... I honestly start feeling quite worried about Mika's new album -

Ok so I'm happy to read that other people thought about Yelle when hearing the song haha. I'm not a huge fan of Yelle but well... The song sure is catchy. I LOVE the lyrics. They're really funny and cool. As for the melody, I have to say that it's a bit repetitive and honestly, I don't think it's one of Mika's best tunes. But I like it and it'll be stuck in my head for the rest of the day mwa ha ha!
