  1. But music-wise it hits the nail pretty much on the head
  2. My 2 cents Narcissistic chansonniers fighting delusional poetry with the electric demons and spiritual (fuse/fugue/feuds???) Smiling girls (??) gives a start (Smiling girls in [something] - instead of gives a start) bowing to the powdered(?Hearing that, too) queen and her clever dandy Stars are lighting renaissance, everything is making sense always finding enlightened impeccable data (??Hearing that, too) And now I'm losing control Looking for a perpetual center of gravity that doesn't let me think about people in all the world that spins around me, nothing that matters more Looking for a perpetual center of gravity so I don't have to think about people in all the world that spins around me over and over again Mystical and majestic the air in Moscow cathedral, a cold winters day, I'm fading away Alienating ??? 3. Better late than never my report from London I had 3 amazing days in London Everything started in the Eurostar and luckily everything went well (I was a bit as some people had tickets from me...). And after first running past my hostel and later past the Smollensky's I did finally arrive at the MFC meet up. And did enjoy that one very much I was happy to get to know some more MFCers - and to meet two fellow subtitling team members finally for real And I didn't feel out of place like it often happens for me if I'm at a party with so many people. It was just really nice to see people you know from MFC & Twitter in reality and talk to some of them. Yet I had the feeling I missed so many ones as I still don't know that many faces and as I'm a bit shy, so I'd suggest name tags for the next time. Sadly we couldn't stay that long as we had to collect our tickets. Luckily everything went well in the end, even if Seeticket tried their best with messing up with some tickets Than we started to distribute the houses, clouds & stars. Which wasn't as easy as thought as we couldn't get into the circles. And my pronunciation must be so bad , every time I asked someone if he is dress circle or upper circle people where like " "" Luckily in the end we could find some people who did get what we wanted and agreed to take a pile for distributing them at the people around them, and we could go to our places. The Citizens started and I did like the songs more. The effect of hearing them twice live But nonetheless I couldn't really enjoy the performance because I felt like I was in chains, being forced to sit on that chair. And I was worried what would happen when Mika would start, if I'd have to stay seated again. It's just impossible for me to sit a Mika gig, I have to move and dance and clap and sing But I didn't want to block the view of the people behind me neither. So I just hoped for a collective stand up. And luckily we had it most of the time! I was so happy when everybody jumped up at Big Girl And than at Good Wife, too, although it was not a totally fast song And from that point on at every song that was a bit faster. I'm very happy he did play OMS and Hurts as he didn't play them in Paris. OMS is just one of THE most perfect songs for this kind of setting and indeed it was beautiful I did also enjoy the “mid-fast” (Good Wife, BBB, SATS…) songs very much, somehow they did work better for me than in the arena. I especially did love Lollipop, too, seeing it from so close by. And of course Promiseland is just a highlight all the time! And I did like the division into angels-purgatory-hell in Underwater - hearing the people above you singing in a choir... I was very eager to hear the a capella part of Happy Ending, too, this is just perfect for a theater. Strangely I thought that the acoustics in Paris were better, and I was 20th row there But aside from single songs, the most important thing for me at a gig is that I’m totally “captured” and it happened again for me in London. Aside from the times when I was mulling over if I can get up or not At this point a thank you to the girls in row E or F on the left for making a start and being the first one to get up very often! But otherwise I was just “into the gig”. I didn't even realize part of his family was there until WAG And I was very happy that I could understand the things he said this time. It was a unique concert and day. I think I wouldn't want to have it all the time, I prefer "normal" concerts, but as a special gig it was fantastic. And personally I was very happy that I did Paris and London, as a package it was amazing: The full stage design and energy and "crowd feeling" of a standing gig in Paris and the experience of being in a theatre, seeing him from near, having a lot of space, hearing Hurts and OMS - and seeing so many MFCers and experiencing the gig together with them - in London And taking a look at shiny Big Ben & London eye afterwards you can’t have anywhere else, too (Thanks Vv for suggesting to do this stroll afterwards )
  4. Paris was amazing! It was my first concert of the tour, and gosh, having the Mika-live-feeling again, seeing the beautiful new stage! It was one of the best decisions ever to do Paris. After having some great days together with Log Lady discovering the town it was time for the concert. I went there only at half past 6 (sadly alone as Log Lady didn't manage to find a new ticket - still sorry, girl ) because when I'm in Paris I want to take advantage of that, so we had a great day in Versailles. The first thing I saw after arriving at the Zenith was a waiting line. Well, not a waiting line, but a WAITING LINE. I had to walk backwards to find the end as I did arrive at the "wrong" site and it seemed to have no end With so many people in front of me naturally I only got a space afar, around 15-20th row. But I still had an amazing view It was incredible, normally you ALWAYS have this one big guy directly in front of you But not this time, only small people in front of me. I could even see his knees while he sat at the piano as well as when he was standing in front of the microphone. And as I really enjoy being directly in the crowd as I love seeing people reacting, nothing better than to dance and jump and clap together with others, but on the same time often have often problems with seeing less as I'm rather small, this was like the perfect situation And the crowd was very good one, reacting, participating. Already when the Citizens were on stage people where clapping and dancing. This was such a good start, as it showed from the beginning that the crowd was very "open". And of course it was nice for the Citizens as it's so hard for support acts sometimes. Mika did start with NPIH. And I did thought he did sound strange. But it seems like it was some sound problem as I never had the impression again after NPIH. The 2nd song was Big Girl. And I'll never say anything against this song again (maybe ). Really, I did enjoy it so much. The intro, the different instrumentation, and most of all how he immediately got the crowd. From that point on he totally "had me". This feeling when you are in a vortex, and there's just Mika and the music, and you don't think anymore, and just feel, and sing and dance… And he was so full of energy this evening. Jumping around, blooming, sparkling, giving everything. Special highlights for me were the acapella part of Happy Ending (even at my place you could hear him so well), the playful Lollipop and Last Party. Last Party felt so "big" at the end and blew me away. And of course Promiseland! This was the song I REALLY wanted to hear. When I recognized the first notes of Promiseland I couldn't stop myself from spontaneously screaming "Yeeeeeessss!!!!!!!!!!" (The girl next to me looked at me like: And me: "I'm sorry, but it's Promiseland!" ) Gosh, and I did love the stage design! :fangurl: Of course I had seen pictures, but I tried to avoid videos, so it was still a surprise. Pictures aren't doing the stage justice at all. Seeing all these little details, seeing all the different things that are hidden in the caravan coming into light one by one, the glowing heaven sign, the gate of heaven after the "curtain" did drop. And everything so colorful, but with strong lines, and this puppet theatre feeling. Just amazing. And we had confetti! I love confetti and was a bit sad he didn't do it this time. But than totally unexpected beautiful colorful confetti did start to rain down on us at the end of WAG. As I didn't expect that to happen at all it was 10times more awesome Afterwards I had the pleasure of getting to know Camille and Melyssa for real. Thanks girls for talking in English and translating a lot to me. I didn't stay too long though, though, walking through the gardens of Versailles and a Mika gig at the same day were just too much. But I'd do it every time again Such an amazing day and gig!
  5. From the Facebook Page of Dr. Brian May: **Tue 20 Oct 15** MIKA SINGS A HOMAGE TO FREDDIE MERCURY ON TOUR - 'LAST PARTY' On 18 Octobe 2015, Mika wrapped his latest tour at the Adelphi Theatre.... Dressed in a black suit embroidered with glittery fireworks, the singer expressed his happiness to be performing at the Adelphi Theatre and reminded the audience that he could see each and everyone of them. Playing the piano, dancing, singing and interacting with the public, Mika pleased everybody by performing his hits (Grace Kelly, Lollipop, Relax, Happy Ending) but also tracks from his most recent album: the catchy Talk About You, Good Guys and Last Party, an homage to Freddie Mercury and a very moving and beautiful song. Unfortunately no footage of this song from the last show, but here it is from earlier in the tour... Touching. https://www.facebook.com/BrianMayCom/posts/1066260233387240 http://www.brianmay.com/queen/queennews/queennewsoct15c.html#35
  6. Now I wanted to write my report and ended up on writing about BBB instead I get it when people personally don't like the French songs. It's okay, everyone has his preferences, and like it's okay that Suzie for example didn't like the acapella parts, it's okay that Jemma doesn't like French songs. But what I don't get is the "he shouldn't do French songs in the UK". People may don't get the exact lyrics. But it's not like you can't enjoy a song in a lot of other ways. And from the crowd reaction it's not like it went wrong in general, at least not around me. Most people did move and later did laugh at his "showing" how to do BBB. French songs are part of his musical identity now. And why should he deny this part of him to the UK fans? You could easily turn the tables as well: if he wouldn't do French songs in the UK at all, other UK fans would ask why it's being denied to them to hear songs that are huge crowd pleasers in all other countries just because of the language. Mika is such a versatile artist. And why shouldn't he show all of his sites to everyone? And I think it's something different to especially play a song that was released in a special country in that same country than to "withdraw" songs for a special country. Especially as he plays EMD/BBB outside of France, live they aren't songs "targeted" to a country. And most people in Spain, Germany or Italy for example don't understand French neither, they get as less from the lyrics as British people. And still 'no one' complains about BBB or EMD, people just party. It just works. Why should he assume it can't work for the UK either? And doing what he wants to do even it's a bit out of the box is part of him since the beginning. Why should he stop at the language? And imho he's totally alright with that, an artist should do what he wants to do. You can't please everyone anyway. And as well as some people won't like it you'll have people who will appreciate exactly that, who will like hearing something different or who will like a "man of world". So, my point is not that you shouldn't personally don't like it, just that I don't see why it should be such a bad decision to play one French song in the UK and if it would really be a "more right" decision for the crowd as a whole to leave them out.
  7. I've printed another 40 clouds now. And just because we are printing everything else but stars now: if other people will print, too, and our sum of houses and clouds should get much heigher (which would be nice in my opinion), we would need more stars, too. And I've printed the German flag in case we decide to do it. As it's not during a song I don't think this + the TAY action will get too much. But I'll follow the majority here
  8. I've decided for the middle between the 2 options: I'll wear normal dark trousers and a colourful T-Shirt, but a costume jacket.
  9. Is anybody planning to go to the gig at the evening / late afternoon without queuing and would want to meet up?
  10. I'm digging up this old thread as we somehow don't have an UK thread in MFC international. I've a question for the UK members: If I want to sent a parcel from the UK, how do I do it? Simple question, but after googling a bit I got even more confused Seems like you have a million different shipping providers Parcelforce seems to be one of the cheapest. If I want to use this one, do I have to find a special Parcelforce shop? Or can I choose them while going to a normal post office?
  11. I've printed and cut out 15 towers and 15 houses on thick paper now If really needed I could print more on normal paper, but I would need to know it until tomorrow. How many people participating do we have so far?
  12. Finally some time to write some thoughts about Beautiful Disaster The song combines two things I normally don't like: Rap and duets of Mika with another person. Therefore, although I was curious, I didn't expect much of this track. But it turned out completely different: I love it! I had (and have) a huge repeat-flash. And for me it's not despite of the Fedez part but equally because of it. I would never have though I would say that but I think I won't like the only-Mika-version more. Rap is most of the times not my music, a few songs are okay, and there is only one rap song I really like. Strangely this song gives me a very similar feeling to the Fedez part. It's this hammering aggressiveness and the build up in the verses combined with the hypnotic "dong"-sound that "reaches" me somehow. Seems like I've some antennas for that I don't think the lyrics of Mika's part are very deep or creative. But like the Fedez-part Mika's part does trigger emotions in me, a feeling of "breaking free", but at the same time it does have some "emotional disharmonies". And this is enhanced by the electronic production. Which I like, too. No surprise this time that I like it, though - I just like "non remix dance music" if it's used for triggering emotions (New Overrated will always be one of my favorites ever for example) Well, and this "it's a beautiful disaster" is worse than superglue, once it takes hold of your ears and it won't leave them About the lyrics of Fedez I still can't say much as I hadn't time to occupy myself with them. But musically I can say for sure already that it's no disaster at all for me, but beautiful instead
  13. I've changed it And could a native maybe check if it's "I get this feeling I can't risk"?
  14. Your designs look great! I don't think I have time for doing some individual houses anymore, but I can print some A4 pages on thick paper and cut them out. It is planned that they will be cutted out, not just the prints, right? Maybe we could collect all done symbols and hand them out at the MFC meet up (and maybe at the entries of the interior of the theater to other fans if some of them are still left)
  15. I'll have to look up at lot of words in the dictionary plus I'm no native so I can't really judge lyric-wise (yet), but for now it seems like it's not 2 persons singing to each other for me but it being from the perspective of one person.
  16. It doesn't work on Spotify for me anymore, too :/ But it's on Amazon.de as single song download, so may check your local Amazon (and may be fast, seems like they want to push whole album sales, and this could be a mistake like the international Spotify release last night seemed to be)
  17. English parts from Olya (wrong corrections are by me ) Fedez Me lo ripeto in testa giusto per non dormire resta sveglio perché il meglio deve ancora svanire per poi sognare un altro modo per potersi rialzare come la pioggia che cade senza mai farsi male da dove siete usciti, dice una voce incerta non lo so ma siamo entrati da una ferita aperta le cicatrici dicono di starcene fra i deboli parliamo col linguaggio dei segni indelebili come ieri tu non c’eri disturbi ereditari sfortunati ereditieri perché spesso chi ti giudica è il primo che poi ti trucida quando lanciare un sasso vale più di una supplica ci hanno detto non è tutto ora ciò che luccica ma l’hanno detto perché è tutto loro ciò che luccica ora, voglio gridare fortissimo, la vita fa schifo il panorama è bellissimo Mika It's a beautiful disaster It's a beautiful disaster I get this feeling I can't miss you're getting harder to resist and maybe by the time I know it'll be too late to let you go who knew my heart could beat so quick my life I gave away for this don't care what anybody sees I know I am doing this for me Fedez Prendo quei pezzi di vita che ho vissuto per sbaglio e li cambio in emozioni di piccolo taglio chi vive sempre e comunque chi vive chiuso in un bunker chi vive sotto la luce vede l’inizio del tunnel con il cuore di pietra tu con la coda di paglia stanchi di nascondere la testa sotto la rabbia mangiare la polvere condirsi la terra ora che cerchiamo la pace a costo di farvi la guerra con 24 mila baci probabilmente Giuda ci avrebbe sterminati sentirsi inadeguati, sentirsi uno dei tanti un’occasione persa fa l’uomo ladro di rimpianti rapaci nati con l’animo colpevole denuncia la tua vita per felicità ingannevole e a tutti noi cresciuti dentro camere oscure dove ogni stronzo mente e la verità pure Mika It's a beautiful disaster It's a beautiful disaster I get this feeling I can't miss you're getting harder to resist and maybe by the time I know it'll be too late to let you go who knew my heart could beat so quick my life I gave away for this don't care what anybody sees I know I am doing this for me I can be your butterfly love you so hard that I could die well, I can make it worth it all what a beautiful way to fall It's a beautiful disaster beautiful disaster I get this feeling I can't miss you're getting harder to resist and maybe by the time I know it'll be too late to let you go who knew my heart could beat so quick my life I gave away for this don't care what anybody sees I know I am doing this for me Beautiful disaster It's a beautiful disaster It's a beautiful disaster It's a beautiful disaster
  18. And it's not only on Italian Spotify playable, but elsewhere, too https://open.spotify.com/track/5zwhQRR2SeQsnAScMGflNz
