1. Me too, especially after we had the long discussion about walking through France with le poo on your head. I mean come on, only people with great minds like ours could come up with that stuff.
2. No, I must've missed that! Thank you for clearing that up. It makes much more sense - after hearing MYH I remembered that comment and was very, very confused. I'm glad he hasn't tried to forcefully strip the songs into something very simple. Electronic music can be very shallow and cold if it doesn't have enough going on to keep it interesting, even if it's made with real instruments (or vegetables ) to give it a more organic sound.
3. Couldn't agree more, especially with the bolded parts and also about Coldplay being overrated. As I said earlier, some bands can keep making the same songs for years and their music will still sell because they've reached a certain "legendary" status or they've become popular enough. Mika's not there, at least not yet, and to be honest I think he's going to have to work extremely hard to reach that point because his music has a lot of quirky elements that don't automatically appeal to the masses. He's a very clever songwriter and understands how to construct a hit song though. That's what I like about his melodies: if you stripped them down they'd be really simple but the layers he adds give them an interesting twist. I was worried when he stated that TOOL would be more simple than the previous two albums but I'm liking the new direction a lot so far. We all know he's good at those piano-based pop songs - it's time for something new and fresh and that's what he's done.
4. ... Seriously?! We must have a spiritual connection of some sort.
5. I'm sorry but the idea of this actually happening cracked me up. In all seriousness though, I agree. I'm still not overly impressed with the new cover but I really do think it suits the new direction he's taking his music to. It's simple and clean and when I think of e.g. MYH the picture fits the song perfectly. The pictures of Mika in the LICM cover booklet do the exact opposite for me - they make him look like a folk singer and don't represent his music in any way. The artwork having illustrations of Billy Brown, Lollipop girl etc. make sense since they're one of his characters but I'm glad that this time he's feeling confident enough to talk about himself instead of other, fictional or non-fictional, people. All in all I've liked Mika's album artwork so far but it's time to move on. I recently had a similar conversation about something else with my brother and told to him that I don't understand why someone would want to see something that's been done a million times. Having a distinctive style is necessary if you don't want to be a one hit wonder but that doesn't mean you shouldn't try to get out of your comfort area and evolve as an artist. Some musicians may be able to make the same records over and over again and still continue being successful because they've already reached a certain status but that isn't the case with Mika.
6. I just had one of the most bizarre Mika dreams ever. I dreamed that I was going to Mika's gig with Mika. He was with me in the audience but we talked about another Mika who was supposed to perform there. While we were waiting for the show to begin we talked about how adorable the performer Mika was on the PDP dvd, we held hands and apparently I had a huge crush on him. Later performer Mika's dad came on stage and started playing the piano and singing Mika's songs. When he played Relax and Grace Kelly I sat on a chair and Mika sat on my lap. I wrapped my arms around him and started bouncing him like you would bounce a small child sitting on your lap.
7. awsedrftgyhujiikkkjhgfdsasdfg  I'm alright - going back to school in less than two weeks and I'm actually looking forward to it... :aah:

8. I had already forgotten about these - I like the new cover a lot more, even with the golden blobs. At least it's something that suits his new image. His style is a lot more simple these days and I think another cartoon cover combined with his newly found grown-up ways would send a contradictory message. I can't help but stare at the cover, it's a stunning picture of him. His philtrum is beautifully defined.
9. Your question immediately reminded me of this: I know I've posted this earlier already but it pretty much summarizes my thoughts about marriage, so here you go. EDIT: I know the quote is about gay marriage, but it describes my thoughts about marriage in general pretty well. If someone wants to get married - fine, it's not like it's any of my business. I just don't see myself getting married.
10. Yes she is! She was an opening act at a gig I went to in July.
11. +1! I can't wait to hear it. It says "UK/ROW version" in the top bit, I don't know what ROW stands for though.
12. Did you check out her Soundcloud profile? She's also made an announcement that this will be the next single: I was so glad to hear about it because it's my favourite from the whole album. I hope there's going to be video for the song!
13. Hey Meli Meli Meli Meli Meli Meli! :pinkbow: How are you?

14. Oh you are quite tall then, I'm 1.68m. :teehee: Nooo don't say Mika's not a giant! I LOVE tall guys, the taller the better (although it they're over 2.00m it's kind of freaky :aah: )! Sometimes when I meet my cousins I imagine what it would feel like standing next to Mika because one of them is even taller than him and he's only 16 years old. I feel like a midget when I stand next to him!

Aww, I really hope you can go to either Vienna or Luxembourg! :wub2:

I'd love nothing more than going to London, especially for a Mika gig, but I really can't make it. :tears: Besides the money issue I'm going to be extremely busy with my studies this year, I'm already dreading it... I really want to meet you at a gig though! :huglove:

15. "And hubby were all over Mika, keep taking photos of him (I swear I saw this scene in one of my fancy dreams )" Hahahahah! :lmfao: I feel like THIS girl_devil.gif is in order right here... :naughty:

It's awesome that you got your book signed though! How tall are you then?

Oh good god! Poor girl - sounds like she had a nervous breakdown or something... Scary! It's things like that that make me really nervous about going to gigs, I'm really claustrophobic and when people start going crazy I get scared. :blush-anim-cl: But I'm glad Italy was better for you! :huglove: I've heard some things about crazy fans and I think you're right, they're probably so hardcore that they're actually obsessed...

So besides London are you going to see Mika anywhere else this autumn? :das:

16. Thank you honey. :huglove: How is your Puff doing? :wub2:

Aww, I'm happy to hear you've had such an amazing and Mika filled summer! How were the French fans crazy? I mean what did they do, were they like the girl in Tunisia who ran towards Mika trying to hug him?

I really hope he comes to Finland too, even if it's next spring! I want to see him live and meet him so badly. :wub2: Did you get a chance to meet him after the gigs by the way?

Oh I can totally understand how it's an addictive hobby! :lmfao: I'd love to travel the world and see him in different places. The thing is, since I'm a full-time student I get student benefit so I can pay my rent etc. and if I had a job I could only earn a certain amout per month to prevent them from cutting my benefits. So even if I worked I'd be too poor to travel, unfortunately. :aah: Job experiences can be paid, like your son's, but many are not willing to do that, they could just find another intern to work for free.

17. What an awesome picture! Thanks for sharing your experience with the rest of us, I'm so happy for you all! I've really enjoyed reading all the reports so far - even though I wasn't there I'm fangurling like crazy. Glad you had an amazing time and it really sounds like Mika loved it too. Hopefully he'll be back there soon again!
18. Yes I have no idea what happened to that thread but I had some good laughs with you there! :roftl:

By the way, me and a few others (including Nas) have started using the chat here - come say hello sometime if you've got the time!

19. I'm so happy you decided to come back! :huglove: Let the craziness continue! Remember this thread? :mikadas:

The tags alone are enough to crack me up! That thread was such a loonybin! :floor:

20. Sadly my mum's cat passed away last month - exactly three weeks ago, actually. His condition was getting worse and worse and he just wasn't himself anymore so we decided it was best to let him go, even though it was absolutely heartbreaking holding him for the last time. The vet told my mum that he fell asleep really quickly and that he must've been awfully tired so it most definitely was the right thing to do. Even though I miss him so much I know he's in a better place now with his brother. :wub2:

I took this picture of him earlier this summer - it's one of the last ones I have of him. :wub2::tears:

21. You're going to London?! OMG! I'm so happy for you dear! :mikalove: Don't worry about the flight - once you get to London there will be a huge reward waiting for you in the form of a Mika gig! :das: How was Nice and Vigevano? I haven't been following the gig threads very much. :blush-anim-cl:

I'm fine, thanks! I'm actually looking forward to going back to school next month - this summer has been so damn boring and depressing for me. :naughty:

I'd love to attend some gigs this autumn but I can't afford it. I can't wait to finish my studies and get a proper job so I can finally start living my life like I want to! :aah:

22. Hey Chris! How are you? :huglove:

23. The Latin part in TOOL confuses me too! Before I knew it was actually "machismo" I heard something about a "gizmo", which immediately made me think of this: Fans of The Fast Show will understand.
