  1. Either have I, but I love this version of Lollipop. Did you like the original Pitch Perfect?
  2. Great idea! Maybe I should do that too if I ever get the chance to see him.
  3. Wow this thread is busy today! I really hope he is going to do something on the radio here, although I doubt he will do anything until September after his holiday in August. And I agree with the point you made about him being vague. I know how it feels to become excited about something, only to find out that it's not in my country and I can't attend (I'm a student and can't travel far). Don't get me wrong, I am really happy that Mika is doing great in other countries. But I just wish we'd see more of him in the UK. I'm not holding my breath for more UK dates. A lot of people on Facebook have been asking why we aren't getting any more dates. I remember Mika's interview on Radio Scotland when the presenter asked if he'd come to Scotland, to which he replied "of course"! I'm still not going to get excited about that though, because we haven't heard anything about a Scottish date yet. Maybe he was just saying that to end the interview nicely? I would love to see him live, but I doubt that's going to happen any time soon.
  4. Glad to know I'm not the only one! But wait a minute...aren't we meant to be talking about Pitch Perfect? We're digressing!
  5. You're not alone, I like TOOL as well. I actually quite like the song Celebrate, although I know it isn't a popular opinion among Mika fans. However, I still can't decide upon which is my favourite Mika album. They're all quite different styles, it's hard to choose which I prefer. I keep changing my mind!
  6. Awh that was adorable! And funny when the audience sang back to him.
  7. Hmm, these pictures are a bit odd. Then again, Mika is never afraid to try something different.
  8. Totally! Some people on YouTube commented that it was TOO dark, but I think it works perfectly. And there's something about Mika's creepy Gothic look that gets me going...
  9. Yay, a Scottish thread!! Glad to know there are lots of other Mika fans in my country; sometimes I feel like the only one! By the way... ...this is quite possibly the sexiest pic I've ever seen in my life! Like, Mika in a kilt? Any time.
  10. That kinda bugs me too. I think it's because - let's face it - Ariana is more well known right now, due to the success of her new album. But technically, Mika wrote the song while Ariana is featured on it. Anyway, it's a great collab and good for his publicity. I love the music video! I actually wish I could turn my old bullies into stone hehe! And yeah, I actually prefer this version of Popular Song too; although the Priscilla Renea version is quite good.
  11. Personally, I think this was a fairly good review, and I don't think the critic was mocking Mika intentionally. After all, he gave the album 4/5, which is above average. And this review was much fairer than the one that told him not to come back to the UK (that one was horrible ). Besides, I didn't think Mika would get much more UK press, as this thread had been a bit quiet for a while.
  12. Maybe I'll be myself when I'm somebody else...

  13. Aw, Amira is the spitting image of her mum Melachi. Both dogs are so cute, like their owner...
  14. Definitely! I think lots of kids heard the song as it was promoted through Disney channel. Also, Ariana Grande is very popular right now so some people who listen to the song because of her also become aware of Mika, which is great! I actually like a lot of Ariana's music and I think Popular Song is her best collaboration - and Mika's too! But what also makes it a good song is the message it gives across: to be yourself and to stand up to bullies. The song really helped me to overcome a tough time and I hope it has helped others too.
  15. Bullying is a common problem and it's one of the worst things that can happen to kids. That's why I'm glad Mika has written so many inspiring songs; I think he is a good role model for those who are being bullied. I was bullied in the earlier years of high school, which were a terrible time for me. As a result of this, I became incredibly self-conscious about the way I came across, and there were several days when I was scared to go to school. But then I discovered Mika. Popular Song, in particular, really encouraged me to feel better about myself. I was also inspired when I heard Mika had been bullied at school, yet he has gone on to be really famous and successful. In the end, I even had the courage to confront the bullies and I told them I didn't care what they said about me as I was proud to be unique. Needless to say, they never bothered me again. So yeah, more Mika songs in films would be great publicity. More kids could become aware of him and be inspired to stick up for themselves.
  16. This song is gorgeous! I love the part near the end where he repeats saying "porcelain" and his voice sounds like it is echoing. Spellbindingly beautiful.
  17. Wow that's good! Especially the eyes and the hair. I draw sometimes but I could never draw Mika, I'd be scared to mess up his fine features.
  18. Talking about Mika songs in movies, I just had a thought: Who else thinks Popular Song would be great in a kids' film or a film for teenagers? It gives out a message to stand up to bullies so lots of kids could relate to it.
  19. Sooo cute!! Fangirling so much here! If Mika ever looked at me with those gorgeous eyes, I'd swoon. Quite seriously.
  20. I love Pitch Perfect and I adore this version of Lollipop! Mika's songs sound great in movies.
