Here's my conversations: *Is your Mommy or Daddy home?* Me: No, I'm sorry. *Do you know when they'll be home?* No, I'm sorry. *Do you usually stay home alone?* Yes! *Oh, my.....* Me: May I give them a message when I see them? *Yes, when do you thing you'll see them?* Me: Beats me, they have their own house. I live alone. Child services actually stopped by one day and asked for the child of the house.. I said that it was me. LMAO!! They were so embarassed. Hi Charlotte! That's funny! Sometimes, when I answer the phone despite caller ID, I tell them I am just the babysitter. I caught a page of Caz's dialogue. Arg, another thread that I will be behind on! Wow, a collar for 3 months over the summer, bummer...But, will you then be pain free? hey, Rose, Christina- I stopped taking the Tylenol w/Codeine because I was fuzzy all the time & it's very hard to do college work on narcotics! But then I realized the pain was just as distracting, it made it just as hard to concentrate, very hard to learn mortgage amortizations that way. So, I still take some when it gets really bad, otherwise lots of Advil & grit my teeth a lot. the surgery sounds medieval, but I guess its the only way to get rid of the bone spurs that are pinching my nerve, so I'm quite glad to get it done. I guess you will end up with a bit of a funny tan line, though. having to wear the neck collar in the summer. you're funny, Patty- I never thought of that! perhaps I'll sew decorative covers for it to match my outfits.... at least it'll be over when fall semester starts, this spring one has been a bitch! Hello, Elanorelle!I've had quite a Monday! Was nervous about dr. appt. today, but it went ok. I do need to have surgery on my neck, but at least I have a PLAN. For the past 6 months it's been pills, physical therapy, wait-and-see- noone -want s-to-give-you-a-real-answer. I was hoping for a magic pill or a shot or a laser or something, but it looks like good old fashioned incision in my throat & drilling off bits of bone.... gruesome! I am glad you got through it - and that you have answers!! Wearing the collar will be a nuisance - but I guess the end result will be worth it - just being pain-free!!
