(One of my mums old dogs had that with a litter of 8 or 10.. we were feeding the lot of them) But yeah, can't really expand on wha the vet has said much. Try to get them to eat other food and feed them yourself as much as possible to take the strain of her. Wendi Posted November 1, 2008 Share Posted November 1, 2008 Tanks running on empty just now!! Pebbles seems to be a little more comfortable now, with the warm compresses. She is still not happy to feed them, and they are not keen on eating or drinking anything else It's hard work - I think Snowy is feeling it the most as he is biggest, and misses the food - but little Smudge - well, I have to kinda force feed him with a syringe now - on the vets advice. He is a bit perkier today, I just need to make sure he is fed more often than the others. Wee soul just sits and shivers Will keep doing what I can - and they should be ok!!! Im sure they will too , i had to do exactly the same as you with the runt of the litter , she was small and lost energy also , but she slowly gained it gradually from being hand fed , and started thriving again hes getting extra tlc pebbles is such a good mommy that video just proved it !!! guylainem123 Posted November 2, 2008 Share Posted November 2, 2008 hi wendi how are you doing today? have you slept at all? i wish i could help you hang in there! are the puppies eating a little more? i remember when we found my 2nd cat, her mom had died when she was about 5 weeks & she didn't know how to eat or drink from a dish. we had to put some on her mouth and she would lick it, that's how she figured out food was good. she was sooooooo hungry. we did the same with the milk from a dish as she didn't know how to drink either. They are so cute when they are suckling and looking into my eyes - but as I said to Monie - after feeding them I have to remember I don't need to put them on my shoulder and burp them!!
