*postwhores out of sheer desperadoes* Here was I, thinking that reaching 7000 posts tonight was a fairly reasonable goal, but the MFC is deader than the record industry. :crybaby:

Hey don't blame me. I'm supposed to be studying, so shouldn't be here at all. In fact I was going to go to uni today and spend some quality time with the text book, but mum rang at 10 and said she'd be down today to get sister Becster's stuff, so of course I had to bum around the house waiting (and she has yet to turn up :sneaky2:)

I is liking Something with Numbers and British India muchly.

Love it! (ignoring the blatant miss-use of hagelslag and flokken)

I haven't heard any of their stuff, but I know who they are...

Good... I still have some sprinkles...

Oh good, that's who I would've voted for too. That other guy is old and that girl with him tries too hard

However, if Tina Fey had run then she would've won!

I know, we get so apathetic, but when your choices are

'abysmal' and ' not that awful'

it's hard to get enthused!

until this year!

the weather sometimes plays a part- if it's miserable , cold, snowy....

but today is unseasonably warm & perfect!

That was our choice... little Johnny Howard was (IMO) abysmal and Big Keve was not that awful...

Though the way the NSW govt is going, we'll be in the sh!t by next year... okay, more in the sh!t than we already are!

Besides, according to a politics course I took, only about 10-20% of our population (the swing voters, who don't always vote for the same person) actually influence who wins. Then you have the people who do the joke votes/dont vote. But the majority is people who always vote for the same party

*puts hand up*

Swinger!

I can think of other things that I would rather have than his hair

So can I... :das:His guitarist for instance...

I had my friends funeral on Thursday (it took some time to bring him home) and then on Monday my uncle rang to say that he has a blockage in his heart and is having a test to see how blocked today....and my aunts husband has to have four toes amputated because he's lost all circulation in his legs and he is refusing to get out of bed or eat and now weighs 55kg so prognosis not good there either!....and work still sucks...nothing different there...oh, and I still have that crappy conference to look forward to....and strangely enough, I actually missed you guys...definitely gotta be something wrong with me mentally...is that enough tee hee hee.

He died? I'm so sorry Tan...

Hope your uncle and aunt's hubby are okay...

That's so true. I never care who wins any other election anywhere (other than here) in the world. But this matters. So much so that we should get to vote too.. *hmph*

I agree... I would've voted for Obama...

Oh no he dih-ent!

Texting dishpig. He thinks Prop 8 isn't completely ignorant and pointless.

*rubs hands together and prepares for battle*

EDIT*

Correction: Dishpig says it was just a ploy to get me riled up for his amusement.

....I like this guy.

*laughs cause she calls him dishpig*

In Barack Obama's victory speech:

"Its the answer spoken by young and old, rich and poor, Democrat and Republican, black, white, Latino, Asian, Native American, gay, straight, disabled and not disabled - Americans who sent a message to the world that we have never been a collection of Red States and Blue States: we are, and always will be, the United States of America."

I'm still optimistic. It's a civil rights matter and like in the past with women and people of colour I think the nation will eventually change.

I like that bit... it's great!

I was talking to one MFC'er who's pro-McCain, and I know of a couple of others, but they're not bitching/ranting about it. Not here, at least.

I can think of one... but she justified why she doesn't like Obama

I think we may be even more behind in Australia, especially since legislation at the Federal level was amended in 2004 to explicitly ban same-sex marriage (and of course the state level cannot be in conflict with the Commonwealth, hooray). Current and proposed state-based 'same-sex relationship registries' are very inconsistent and don't afford many legal rights, especially on the matter of adoption which still isn't allowed in most states. Both the Rudd administration and the opposition are very strongly opposed and pro gay rights parties like the Greens really don't have that much sway.

I think that Australia very much looks to the USA for leadership (just look at the Howard-Bush relationship) and I guess that's why American politics are important to Australians.

EDIT:

TP. I think that if the USA takes the lead then Australia may follow, but not before that.

I don't mind the Greens that much, but my big issue with them is Lee Rhiannon... that silly cow said that Rusty Turner (state member for Orange) was saying horrible things about Orange when we had little buggers making life hell for everyone here a few years back... she wouldn't have been able to bury her head in the sand if she'd had someone throwing rocks at her house or breaking in...

Though I have a bit of a bone to pick with Rusty now.... he reckons teachers are taking advantage of the holidays and professional development days... I'd like to see him have a go at teaching...

I am so glad Obama won - and I think he will work well with Gordon

Brown, and bring some stability in this difficult time.

I just wish his Grandmother had lived another few days to see this!!

I'm sure she knew he'd win...

...and my good news for the week! These tickets were the biggest pain in the bum to get.

P1010146_01.jpg

My sister's going to Pink with her friend... she bought the ticket for Zoe as a birthday and Chrissy pressie...

Pink tickets. you were lucky to get them didnt they sell out in like 30secs?

anyways im back if anyone cared

Hey ya Lyndal!

With 24 members of parliament the Greens apply pressure to the two-party system but clearly not enough considering that pro gay rights bills hardly ever get passed. I'm sad to say that members of my family used to vote Greens until they learnt about their pro gay rights stance (but I don't think they know that the party's leader Bob Brown is gay himself, it's strange that not many people seem to know that).

I was not aware of that!

FMBM even if you can marry Kelz in Arizona, wouldn't that be illegal on the fact that she's your mother? Or is there a state where that doesn't matter?

Utah? :fisch:

Well he was the first, there are now several more out MP's such as Penny Wong our inaugral Minister for Climate Change and Water.

Didn't know she's gay as well...

I made sure prefrences went Rudd before I voted...I'm still not sold 100% on him but he's alot better than Howard.

Oh, I get really bad cramps too...my friend just recommended these tablets (Mersyndol) for me and I swear by them now! I used to just take Panadol clear but Mersyndol is brilliant.

I voted Independent... I didn't like the Nationals candidate, and the last time I'd voted I voted for Peter Andren (he was an independent and I don't think he gave preferences to anyone)...

I'm supposed to be finding examples for an exam essay on the limitations of current representations of GLBT, hence me being online.

Any suggestions? (I'm leaning towards focusing on how bisexual characters tend to be potrayed as promiscious and non monogamous, such as Jack Harkness in Torchwood. I could probably fit Tila Tequila in there as well)

I'm just not in the studying mood

Interesting topic...

You're missing your kidneys? Where'd they go?!

That just reminded me of a dream I had a few nights ago... I remember going to bed (strangely enough in my aunt's house), and I got stabbed in the back, and someone put a rag covered in chloroform... I woke up (in the dream) and realised someone had taken my kidney... and I remember thinking, "Not again!"

Ummm, I think Jack Harkness is not portrayed as promiscious and non-monogamous since it's never mentioned or implied whether he has or hasn't been with more than one person at the same time - I'd say he's portrayed as merely very flirtatious (an example of the polyamorous/polysexual portrayal of a bisexual would be Puccini For Beginners where the main character identifies as a lesbian but dates both a man and a woman without their knowledge)...
*cuts rest of post*

Or you could just sneak Twatty in to sit your exam...

Hello... I haven't been posting much, but I have been popping in and reading.

This is probably posted somewhere, but is the new DVD being released on Monday here in Australia too?

:shocked; at the essay discussion, I think I have a headache now.

Hey ya SK...

So long as you're ok...OMG that reminds me, how's Teegs...did she have her tests?

I went for the ultrasound, I have a large cyst near my right ovary that measures 7cm by 9cm by 12cm...

Is our dvd in a different region to yours? Someone could get you one

and you could pay when you are able to!!

Strangely enough, my LiveICM DVD has no region listing... and I ordered if off Amazon...

NEWS UPDATE:

i dont have gallstones

but i have an enlarges spleen

...

im getting a blood test today

Ouch... they mentioned my spleen was slightly enlarged... but said it might be due to my stature..

Teegs ... Kelz

Check out the MTV EMA's on youtube tomorrow or footage on the EMA website http://ema.mtv.co.uk ... Bono has just presented an award for paul mcartney and given a little speech. He got boo'ed at first .... If you cant find it , im getting it recorded for me , so i will upload it to youtube for you ASAP !!

How dare they boo Bono!!!

However, if they're booing Paul McCartney, I don't mind...

Oooh, not been here before, don't know why not the times I stay up 'til

Just wanted to ask you lovely people here, how did you set up your petition for Mika to come over there?

I'm setting up an online petition and need some guidance.

Thank you

Not sure how it was set up but Teegs will be able to tell you the next time she's on!

*points to Teegs re: petition* She'd be the one to talk to.

I went to petitiononline.com.... a lot of people have used it (and ours is still open), but there were thoughts that it might not be taken as seriously as one written down... but I think for Perez it should be fine...

Noice....hope you warmed your hand / arm up first

:lmfao:

Okay aussies-

I ordered the parc de princes DVD from http://www.ezydvd.com.au for $25.43 Australian dollars with free delivery in Australia.

Just thought you may like to know

Noice...

though I don't trust Sanity... If I go to Sanity here, they won't have any idea what I'm talking about... or they'll say you can't get it...

Raisin, one of these days, you'll just forget to log in at the right time and we'll talk especially fast and someone else will have to open a thread, and that will be the end of your thread-hosting reign.

*shakes fist menacingly*

It's never going to happen...

It's now listed as $27.97 AUD. Did it go up? Also, is this the standard or deluxe edition?

I think I might wait 'till the November 17th and buy the deluxe edition at JB Hi-Fi like last time (if there is a deluxe edition released here at all).

...and tour here, no wonder he is forgotten at the bottom of a bargain bin.

I don't think there is standard and deluxe for this one...

I'm thinking of waiting till Christmas...

Sad, but true...

I'm gonna have to get a wriggle on!

There are 5 non-Australians who have posted here more than me, shame shame.

Might be a bit of a hint for you...

Just took me by surprise, not being on this thread before, not sure what to expect.

Anything's fair game here... after all, we were talking about snakes forked penes in the last thread...

Ach, that sucks. It happens to me too...every time I resolve to actually work, I end up having to babysit or something equally dumb...

It tends to happen to me often as well. She forget that I have important things to do. Its been about a month since she left something at my aunt's place for me, and what with work, study and procrastination I haven't had time to get it :naughty:

Interesting topic...

*cuts rest of post*

Or you could just sneak Twatty in to sit your exam...

It is interesting, it'd be more interesting if I didn't have to do an exam on that.

I could  If she could pass for me in my id photo :naughty:

But then, it depends on how knowledgeable she is about pornography and prostitution, my other essay topic *zhhz*

Anyways, have to go pick up Britt... Would have Ethan here as well, but his stupid psychotic cow of a mother reckons he gets upset when he comes here... I've never seen him get upset about coming here ever... the only time he ever gets upset is when he gets in trouble or when he goes home...

I've heard of McCleod's Daughters, but only seen half an episode. It's hard to find on american television.

Teegs, I call him Dishpig because otherwise you wouldn't know who I was talking about, or would think I'm texting and talking to a machine, like you did last time.:naughty:

Speaking of whom, the idiot is participating in a disgusting competition with his roommates, something called "No Shave November".

Pft... here's its called Movember, and the guys try and grow moustaches, and get sponsored for it, to raise money in support of things such as male depression and prostate cancer.

No shave November just doesn't sound as cool.

As for McCleods daughters Rak1, never really watched it. It's not really my sort of show

Me either. Light stubble, yes. Manbush, no. I like his face. Why is he covering it up?!

I'm hoping to squeeze one in sometime in the next week before things get too hairy, but if I can't, the bastard can just wait until December for a kiss.:naughty:

Funny story, OKD-style: the other day, I was "going to the bathroom" and met two of my friends, Rudy and Jason, in the hallway outside the counselling office/information place. A group of about three adults who weren't teachers came towards us, and Rudy said perhaps they were bringing a new kid to the school and were here to talk to the authorities...being the insane person that she is, she asked them, "Are you

bringing a child to be in this school?"

The adults (two women and a guy) laughed, and said that they weren't. Then, one of the women pointed to the guy and joked that they were enrolling him in the school (he had a thick beard and was obviously in his thirties.) The second after they passed by, Jason said quite loudly, "Oh, yeah, he's a grade nine alright, especially with all that facial hair..."

I don't know if they heard or not, but cue laughing attack ft. snorting from Jason...

Hiya SD! How are you?

I'm alright. Just really worried about School Certificate exams next week and my piano exam in about two weeks. And today in PE we played cricket and when I went to catch the ball (being my coordinated self) it hit the end of my finger and sort of jarred it and now it really hurts and I can't really play the piano!!

But other than that, I'm fine! :naughty:
