MIKA Live in New York, June 23rd, 2009

Recommended Posts

its not up to the people to judge whether it is risky or not its up to the venue so if mika said that his opening will be a burlesque dancer (even if he says its not risky) the venue can decide to put a barred age limit because they dont want to take responsibility

What I'm getting at is I'm not sure this is quite what Mika wanted for an opening act and I'd be surprised if he did it again. I think it was just a one-off and part of the whole secret gig madness. The acoustic tour is going to be different from the secret gig.

Hopefully we'll get more information over the next while because I know this is a difficult thing to accept with no explanation offered.

Ah...if I may put in a bit of an opinion...but are you sure that it's only 18+ years of age?

I thought that just referred to the bar--that a certain area was for 18+ but the other areas didn't matter.

At least, Mr. Smalls Theatre in Pittsburgh was like that.

Wow, the more I read, the sadder I am about the age restriction. For a show that truly brings out the inner child of it's audience, it's such a dang shame.

I remember being upset, back in the day, when singers/bands I liked would perform at casinos, because those are 21+ venues and I was underage. But I don't really see Mika falling into the "greatest hits casino circuit" category for quite some time. We can only hope. :mf_rosetinted:

Mika's management told us that it is strictly over 18 in order to be admitted to the venue.

But I see a "babspanky" on the RSVP list, under the YES heading...

:yay: See you there!

OMG she did it :lmao:

Ok Bab, maybe I should come on the same flight as you haahha

In all seriousness now, I REALLY feel for all the younglings that can't make it because of this over18 rule, I really honestly do. It sucks :huglove:

Wait. Hold up. What if we're 18 -- not any number of years younger or older? We could still get in?

No 18 is fine. As long as your birthday is before June 24 you will be over 18 years :wink2:

Everyone's getting really upset about all this 18+ business (including me), but is this going to be th only U.S. venue on the acoustic tour?

That's the impression I've been getting, but I can't really believe he'd only do one gig that was +18 only in such a big place. :boxed:

That's what it's looking like I'm afraid. This is a very limited tour.
