Hope someone can translate his answers to English!

I can choose to make an album in French and dedicate this time to doing something new and also to scare me of destabilizing me in relation to my reflexes uh we're going to say uh that I have when when I write in English there it's a different language and I'm delighted that I did it because it allowed me not only to find new ways to work on expressing myself but also with a certain looseness and to uninhibit myself in a very important way so and you can hear it I think in the album are we not telling the same emotions the same stories in English or in French not necessarily it depends on how you feel and when I started writing in French the moment I found a way to do it and not ask myself too many questions it was as if I was in a small bubble in a refuge and as a result I could confront themes or talk about my life with a transparency that even surprised me and that was also heard in the melody so Mik you still speak fluently lots of other languages they will have the right to albums these other languages that you practice fluently I don't know no I don't know for the moment no I learned it took a lot of time for me to even accept the idea of making a album in French and to really have this serious desire and I've been speaking French since I was a year and a half so maybe an album in Italian when I'm 70 would interest you but for moment it suits me and Valérie the Mar we have the same reaction it's this idea of just relieving yourself of guilt at the end on the pube by saying for your feeling more I find it so ridiculous this little sentence it's the way that it is repeated if we listen to the radio if we watch TV we hear it all the time in the same writing and it's funny I find it funny because there is no sense especially when we hear it repeated several times in the day and and I said to myself it's so it's starting B opens the album we think it's a bit funny and all of a sudden it goes up and up and up and we realize that the song is talking about something much more serious and we end in the song at the gates of paradise he even and there out of breath exhausted after years and years of this idea that we are forced to move but move in the deep sense we don't just move with our legs our feet there is God who looks at us and says well what are you doing get up it's not to rest and now what's more you do n't even have an excuse because that you are light come on let's move and I find it so funny and serious at the same time and I like the idea that I condition people d d the first type with something that makes us want to dance and then who poses a little idea this sweet poetic resistance of the first song the first sentence and then on this title we were talking about the French language earlier you have fun with the conjugation of the verb to move including in the subjunctive that's quite pretty eh I love the fact that I judge the guy who makes the most mistakes in French opens with the conjugation movement exactly and and I did an interview with mat and Paris Match told me it's funny you are really you are really funny you even make a mistake in a conscious way in the first song and then I became self-conscious I called Valérie Martier afterwards I said Valérie it's it's true I did a mistake with Boujon and there she tells me she sends me pages of screenshots to show me that it is correct Mika well you have passed the 40 years mark the body and the energy I have the impression that it's those of a young man of 20 years old what is your secret is to move but it's to move not because someone tells me to do it that's it is the opposite you tell me not to move I move and I ask others to do it with me and that if you have seen one of my concerts you will understand that I I don't bend I do n't bend for me it's a manifestation a manifestation of love of tolerance of color of acceptance we provoke tolerance we provoke empathy music it is for that for our legs ser also for that yes but not glitter uh color love sex sensuality poetry that's real glitter that's emotional glitter it's PE of emotional artifice and not superl I find that this idea of being posed with love and with sensuality in a context of 'today it's very important it's because it goes beyond politics it goes beyond religion it's okay it's universal and it's humanist and it's very important and buddy she can do that it's not a shame to say it she can do it we have to encourage her and I find that it's this side a bit a bit Flower Power a bit hiy love uh but in 2024 we have to reinventing is a contemporary way of reinventing the same principle of talking about the end of the world of talking about fear of talking about things that burn that explode and in the middle of that talking about love putting the beauty of colors to uh forgetting about sadness it allows you to overcome but not forget it yeah you don't have to overcome it by not forgetting it by not escaping it by metabolizing it by transforming it I always say I experienced uh something very strong a few years ago I saw something very very very violent, very brutal and I had to uh with my own eyes confront an incredible violence a stone's throw from death not mine but someone more embarrassed I I never thought in my life that I was going to see something so brutally violent and I remember in that moment where I had to confront because I asked to greet the person and say goodbye I was in the street and I remember I realized the silence around me meant that everything had stopped and I looked around me and I saw silhouettes that weren't moving and it was like a kind of collective prayer without prayer without words but I felt the prayer the communion of spirit because people were aware of what was happening and I said to myself and and I was moved not by despair and I was not of despair I was moved by the beauty in that moment and since that moment I say that if we know and if we try we don't know but if we try to recognize beauty in the worst circumstances and well we can recognize beauty in everyone's life the days and maybe we can stay happy to find a way to happiness and the songs the pop the melody casually it seems very light but there is a motivation to do it otherwise otherwise we I would n't do and you know there once again you touch something which is at the same time which seems quite stupid but it is and I think that you have understood well it is there is something behind you know in the Lodown I started to study a lot of philosophy and in this philosophy we undoubtedly begin to confront theology I am not necessarily someone very religious in theology we confront a lot of things that we had learned a little bit without learning by osmosis and we are conditioned by so many things and all of a sudden we start to ask why and that's where I learned this idea of the angel in fact the angel Gabriel is often confused and is mixed between angel and devil in fact and this idea that it is the same person and there we go really deep into the theology or into the interpretation of theology but I love this idea that the angel Gabriel and the little devil is the same person who alternates and I find that it's it's once again it well embodies the character of someone who goes on stage when I think of Jager that's it in fact when I think of me both gentle and at the same time burning on the stage who seeks to capture this energy when I think of him but on the stage it's that it's he's an angel he's a devil at the same time he alternates between the two and well besides on stage you will soon be there with the apox sorry with the Apocalypse it's not easy to say hey this thing with the Apocalypse calypo the Apocalypse Calypso it's not easy to say say you have to say four times above and see apocalypse Calypso it will pass through Geneva on March 28th I imagine that you promise us again a show which is which is spectacular colorful I am working on something where I am really looking for to carry a sort of artistic concept I read this sentence in the New York Times on a plane and I was very jetl I was coming back from Asia there was this sentence in a big article New York Times said ocyse after the 'apocalypse million flowers blooming this sentence in itself after the very scientific article and in this science there was the Renaissance and I said to myself wow it's so full of poetry it would be beautiful to have a show one visual show a graphic show with animations with captures which talks about that which makes the link between that and a human person humanity and music so it is then the ambition it is it is there it is great but I I hope that in the end it will just be a rush of emotion of great contrast and energy, we are looking forward to seeing you on stage and in particular in Geneva on March 28, thank you very much Mika for these few moments around this new album it's a great pleasure thank you 1

I can choose to make an album in French and dedicate this time to doing something new and also to scare me of destabilizing me in relation to my reflexes uh we're going to say uh that I have when when I write in English there it's a different language and I'm delighted that I did it because it allowed me not only to find new ways to work on expressing myself but also with a certain looseness and to uninhibit myself in a very important way so and you can hear it I think in the album are we not telling the same emotions the same stories in English or in French not necessarily it depends on how you feel and when I started writing in French the moment I found a way to do it and not ask myself too many questions it was as if I was in a small bubble in a refuge and as a result I could confront themes or talk about my life with a transparency that even surprised me and that was also heard in the melody so Mik you still speak fluently lots of other languages they will have the right to albums these other languages that you practice fluently I don't know no I don't know for the moment no I learned it took a lot of time for me to even accept the idea of making a album in French and to really have this serious desire and I've been speaking French since I was a year and a half so maybe an album in Italian when I'm 70 would interest you but for moment it suits me and Valérie the Mar we have the same reaction it's this idea of just relieving yourself of guilt at the end on the pube by saying for your feeling more I find it so ridiculous this little sentence it's the way that it is repeated if we listen to the radio if we watch TV we hear it all the time in the same writing and it's funny I find it funny because there is no sense especially when we hear it repeated several times in the day and and I said to myself it's so it's starting B opens the album we think it's a bit funny and all of a sudden it goes up and up and up and we realize that the song is talking about something much more serious and we end in the song at the gates of paradise he even and there out of breath exhausted after years and years of this idea that we are forced to move but move in the deep sense we don't just move with our legs our feet there is God who looks at us and says well what are you doing get up it's not to rest and now what's more you do n't even have an excuse because that you are light come on let's move and I find it so funny and serious at the same time and I like the idea that I condition people d d the first type with something that makes us want to dance and then who poses a little idea this sweet poetic resistance of the first song the first sentence and then on this title we were talking about the French language earlier you have fun with the conjugation of the verb to move including in the subjunctive that's quite pretty eh I love the fact that I judge the guy who makes the most mistakes in French opens with the conjugation movement exactly and and I did an interview with mat and Paris Match told me it's funny you are really you are really funny you even make a mistake in a conscious way in the first song and then I became self-conscious I called Valérie Martier afterwards I said Valérie it's it's true I did a mistake with Boujon and there she tells me she sends me pages of screenshots to show me that it is correct Mika well you have passed the 40 years mark the body and the energy I have the impression that it's those of a young man of 20 years old what is your secret is to move but it's to move not because someone tells me to do it that's it is the opposite you tell me not to move I move and I ask others to do it with me and that if you have seen one of my concerts you will understand that I I don't bend I do n't bend for me it's a manifestation a manifestation of love of tolerance of color of acceptance we provoke tolerance we provoke empathy music it is for that for our legs ser also for that yes but not glitter uh color love sex sensuality poetry that's real glitter that's emotional glitter it's PE of emotional artifice and not superl I find that this idea of being posed with love and with sensuality in a context of 'today it's very important it's because it goes beyond politics it goes beyond religion it's okay it's universal and it's humanist and it's very important and buddy she can do that it's not a shame to say it she can do it we have to encourage her and I find that it's this side a bit a bit Flower Power a bit hiy love uh but in 2024 we have to reinventing is a contemporary way of reinventing the same principle of talking about the end of the world of talking about fear of talking about things that burn that explode and in the middle of that talking about love putting the beauty of colors to uh forgetting about sadness it allows you to overcome but not forget it yeah you don't have to overcome it by not forgetting it by not escaping it by metabolizing it by transforming it I always say I experienced uh something very strong a few years ago I saw something very very very violent, very brutal and I had to uh with my own eyes confront an incredible violence a stone's throw from death not mine but someone more embarrassed I I never thought in my life that I was going to see something so brutally violent and I remember in that moment where I had to confront because I asked to greet the person and say goodbye I was in the street and I remember I realized the silence around me meant that everything had stopped and I looked around me and I saw silhouettes that weren't moving and it was like a kind of collective prayer without prayer without words but I felt the prayer the communion of spirit because people were aware of what was happening and I said to myself and and I was moved not by despair and I was not of despair I was moved by the beauty in that moment and since that moment I say that if we know and if we try we don't know but if we try to recognize beauty in the worst circumstances and well we can recognize beauty in everyone's life the days and maybe we can stay happy to find a way to happiness and the songs the pop the melody casually it seems very light but there is a motivation to do it otherwise otherwise we I would n't do and you know there once again you touch something which is at the same time which seems quite stupid but it is and I think that you have understood well it is there is something behind you know in the Lodown I started to study a lot of philosophy and in this philosophy we undoubtedly begin to confront theology I am not necessarily someone very religious in theology we confront a lot of things that we had learned a little bit without learning by osmosis and we are conditioned by so many things and all of a sudden we start to ask why and that's where I learned this idea of the angel in fact the angel Gabriel is often confused and is mixed between angel and devil in fact and this idea that it is the same person and there we go really deep into the theology or into the interpretation of theology but I love this idea that the angel Gabriel and the little devil is the same person who alternates and I find that it's it's once again it well embodies the character of someone who goes on stage when I think of Jager that's it in fact when I think of me both gentle and at the same time burning on the stage who seeks to capture this energy when I think of him but on the stage it's that it's he's an angel he's a devil at the same time he alternates between the two and well besides on stage you will soon be there with the apox sorry with the Apocalypse it's not easy to say hey this thing with the Apocalypse calypo the Apocalypse Calypso it's not easy to say say you have to say four times above and see apocalypse Calypso it will pass through Geneva on March 28th I imagine that you promise us again a show which is which is spectacular colorful I am working on something where I am really looking for to carry a sort of artistic concept I read this sentence in the New York Times on a plane and I was very jetl I was coming back from Asia there was this sentence in a big article New York Times said ocyse after the 'apocalypse million flowers blooming this sentence in itself after the very scientific article and in this science there was the Renaissance and I said to myself wow it's so full of poetry it would be beautiful to have a show one visual show a graphic show with animations with captures which talks about that which makes the link between that and a human person humanity and music so it is then the ambition it is it is there it is great but I I hope that in the end it will just be a rush of emotion of great contrast and energy, we are looking forward to seeing you on stage and in particular in Geneva on March 28, thank you very much Mika for these few moments around this new album it's a great pleasure thank you Thank you! I haven't listened yet, only read the translation... some interesting things there. He talks about Paloma's accident again, how it felt to him to be in this situation. He mentioned in another interview that the song he wrote was too beautiful to provoke something, and here he's going more into detail. I can imagine that this still haunts him, from what he told in other interviews Paloma herself didn't even realize what situation she was in, but he was there and conscious of what was happening, and he must have felt so shocked and helpless and alone. I think the beauty he mentions can only be a tiny consolation - and hadn't he said before that he didn't realize the beauty of it in this moment, but only later? But I think he might have to rewrite this story for himself, to be able to metabolize it. Also interesting what he says about philosophy and that on stage he's both an angel and a devil in one person. Well, I don't see him as either, he just has a very sweet and sensitive side and a very naughty one, he likes the extremes and yes, that's part of what makes his stage performance so special. I need to listen to this interview when I have more time and try to correct the transcript, it's a bit messed up with the automatic subtitles. 1

Much respect that he could turn it around like this, it takes a lot of courage and also time to reach such a point. 20 hours ago, Kumazzz said: I love this idea that the angel Gabriel and the little devil is the same person who alternates and I find that it's it's once again it well embodies the character of someone who goes on stage So when is he the little devil, on stage or off stage? When I listen to the new album, I always smile widely when Bougez comes on, because to me that is 1000% Stage Mika and I can’t wait to see the new tour…. purely to see him perform this song! We got a sneak preview with that recorded concert. But I think that is merely a teaser of what is going to happen during the tour!

Kumazzz
Australia DNA Magazine - Issue 289, February 2024 PDF file ( 1 page / 264 kb ) - DNA I289 02.2024_p.20-1.pdf Pressreader https://www.pressreader.com/article/281754159202569 MIKA - Que Ta Tête Fleurisse Toujours It’s been a long time between hits for Lebanese-born pop star Mika. His golden moment remains 2007’s still fabulous #1 Grace Kelly, before coming out in 2012, and he’s now up to his seventh album. This time Mika’s opted to release a record entirely in French, his native tongue. It’s dedicated to his mother, who passed away, and is also a love letter to his partner, film-maker Andreas Dermanis, with whom he has been with for 18 years, especially on the haunting track Moi, Andy et Paris. Even if French is not your first language (or last!), this is a beautifully crafted pop record with Mika embracing his past, present and future. Let’s hope an English version arrives soon, non?!
