krysady Posted August 8, 2023 Share Posted August 8, 2023 Finally home, and thought I'd share my experience from Monaco I visited Monte Carlo 11 years ago when I went to Mika gig in Nice and loved it so much that when this new opportunity appeared, I started to make plans for a short holiday with my husband. The view from the terrace of the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco it's breathtaking, one of the most beautiful I've seen, and the museum itself it's very interesting. The exotic gardens, the elegant interior of the Prince's Palace resembling to Versailles, every corner is a piece of art. The evening of the concert we planned to meet in front of the venue and there were already some Italian fans waiting. Short after Prisca arrived and soon they opened the doors and we entered. I asked about Karin, Nina, Andrea and Zita and Prisca told me they got lost, but soon we were all together and they started to bring the first course. While we were having our dinner accompanied by a band on stage, the huge windows started to go down into the floor and the fresh air coming in, it was nice. By the time we finished the fancy dessert decorated with edible gold foil, we could hear the intro of Mika's concert and soon he came on stage and Lollipop started. Now I must say that seeing the type of the audience and knowing the majority were not Mika fans, I was afraid they would stick to their chairs and ignore him. Moreover, watching the vids from Ricky Martin's gig a few days before, that was what actually happened, he was dancing and jumping like crazy on stage and people didn't move from their chairs...But hey, this time it was Mika! He is able to subdue any stiff and difficult audience, it didn't take long till everyone was standing, dancing and waving their napkins in the air Some of us moved to the place where previously it was a window, since you could move and dance better than between the tables, and as you already saw, he came by our place during Big Girl The venue is smaller than in the photos, so me and @Hero stayed there and danced and jumped the entire concert, having a breathtaking view behind us and another beautiful one in front Afterwards we went outside and wait for Mika. People were getting their cars outside, so I had to inform the security that we don't want our car yet because we wait for Mika. The man looked confused but said it's fine, I suppose it's not happening very often When Mika came out, he was whispering so I decided to not ask him anything and only got my CD signed. He looked tired and said he is prepared for the next day in the rain in Belgium, then he left with his car. I loved that with the footage from Laura (the content roadie) as well. Someone told me that Mika peeks through the curtains before a gig to see what the atmosphere is like in the audience, or just to get a general feel. And the lights of the venue changed the color of your blue dress into green or purple😅I am sorry you weren't in the group picture but that was for a good reason.
