I don't really see pirate as fitting the lyrics, they're all about robbing and stealing. But I guess it's a more romantic notion than salvage worker. I found the song a bit boring at first, and it has some words / word combinations in it that make me cringe because they sound like German words that are destroying the poetry of the song a little for me. But the song has grown on me, I enjoy listening to it on the album. I especially love the "Aaaahhh aaaahh" part, this transports me to Pirates of the Caribbean, one of those camera views where you see the sea and the ships from above, like you're flying over the scene. crazyaboutmika Posted January 2 Share Posted January 2 (edited) I actually feel in love with Amour Pirate and I find myself playing it a lot now for several reasons I love the way Mika pronounces "pira- te" as usually in French people say "pirat"and the "te" is longer which I find extra cute That song was played at la fnac terne during the signing (all the album was playing all the time but Amour pirate was the one I heard most) I was a pirate myself on that day sneaking out to Paris and Mika is always love I also love all the song with Mika singing "amour' or '"love" or "je t'aime' for obvious reasons And the song talks about the ocean which is my second home after MFC 🧜♀️ Edited January 2 by crazyaboutmika 4 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
