  1. gah! :mf_lustslow: you're gonna get me killed, posting that while I'm dueling!
  2. I believe that I'm ready :lightsabre: :rocket: :sniper: :mf_plasmawhore:
  3. Ahem. I don't think so. Because she belongs to me, I tell you!!!!! Shall we duel for her?
  4. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that Relax Take It Easy would be a good song to listen to while :rasta: *cough* I like Any Other World...its so beautiful and sad, and very Eleanor Rigby-esque
  5. well, since I've only heard five of the songs, I'd have to say I've gone identity mad! from Grace Kelly...
  6. I totally forgot that Mika speaks French!..so awesome!...I love his drummer girl, too! as for what they're talking about....lets see....from the knowledge of French I have, in the second part, they're talking about Mika, where he's from, his age, etc, then the host dude starts talking about Queen and Freddie Mercury and (I think) how Mika's been compared to them...after the snippet of Killer Queen, they start talking about some of the other stuff from the album and where Mika came up with his ideas for stuff like Big Girl and Grace Kelly (I think)
  7. ^^^ ah, thanks... ...yeah....as to Mika's sexuality....I totally agree that it shouldn't be a topic thats completely off limits, just as long as it is being constantly brought up whether he's this or that. like girl anachronism said, we can guess, speculate, and ponder all we want, but we'll never be any closer to finding out anything unless Mika himself says so...
  8. ^^^^ Um, I know this is off topic, but is Bowie bisexual?...I honestly don't know if he is and if its common knowledge or not...
  9. I was planning on ordering it too, but saw that amazon's wait time was 4-6 weeks, like you said...I was going to try the cdwow thing, like you did as well, but I think that I'll just order it from Amazon UK...I've ordered from them before for stuff, and got the items I ordered in only a few days. It'll be a little pricy because of the shipping (the cd itself is only about $16 or $17 U.S. on there) so the total I think it'll be is about $35 dollars...so if you order from Amazon UK, on say, a monday, you'd likely have it by Friday, or the following monday.
  10. Welcome! glad to see more U.S. folks learning about Mika (I'm in Chicago myself)
  11. ^^^I love Mraz and Maroon 5 too! ....Anyway, lets see...I'm Najee (Naj for short) I'm from and live in Chicago in the U.S., and I'm about to graduate high school (yay for me!)...I love lots of different kinds of music, though mainly stuff in the rock/alternative vein....my favorite band of all time is Queen, I also love the Beatles and some newer bands as well, such as The Killers, Scissor Sisters, and Franz Ferdinand. I found out about Mika when a friend of mine showed me Mika's Grace Kelly video, saying she'd heard people calling Mika "Freddie Mercury reborn" and wanted to know what I thought, since I'm such a huge Queen fan...when I first saw the video, it gave me chills, the both the resemblance to Freddie's voice and the sheer power and control that Mika has over it, in addition to the fact that Grace Kelly was different than anything I'd heard in awhile. So yeah, I'm a huge fan.
  12. I second that...I'd love to play Grace Kelly or Love Today on piano, but seeing as Mika's stuff is relatively new, I dunno if the sheet music will be in circulation yet...unless someone around here can play by ear and can pretty much figure out what the notes are...
  13. ummm....I'm looking at the itunes UK store right now....does that mean I can buy stuff from there, even though I'm in the U.S.?
  14. Thats awesome!....we Mika fans totally rock! :punk:
  15. Who knows? Freddie Mercury and Little Richard would've both been very wealthy, so maybe they invested some money in some scientific stuff that combined DNA from both to create the pop superstar sensation that is Mika.
  16. haha....well good golly miss molly! ...now that you mention it...I dunno, they both seem to have that certain flair about them...and that insane energy right beneath the surface that seems ready to explode....
  17. ah! I never even thought about that until just now...shows that I should actually start paying attention to the words when I'm listening to stuff sometimes...
  18. one golden glance....of what should be.... yes, I know most of the words to Queen's songs... but yeah, I already posted my thoughts on Mika's Magic, and agree with what everyone else has said as well. *nods*
  19. I think it has to do with how and to what extent he uses his influences...to me, a good artist has lots of influences, and like Mika, uses bits and pieces of each one here and there, so that they blend together and create a unique sound, as well as throwing lots of their own unique stuff in, so that it ever so often makes you go "I swear I've heard something like that somewhere else..." but is subtle enough that you can't just go, "aha, this sounds just like soandso..." these factors, coupled with Mika's incredible voice, all contribute, in my opinion to the, as you call it "The Magic of Mika"
  20. I haven't heard anything either, but I hope that he'll be on there soon, seeing as I usually watch the tonight show quite often
  21. well, I think he has a few brothers and sisters (not sure how many sisters)...so at least one of his sisters may have done backing vocals...as for the other ones...I dunno, if not sisters, cousins, maybe?
  22. Welcome from your neighbor in the midwest!...I don't really know if we're neighbors since Illinois isn't right near Cali, but welcome anyway!
  23. It would be so awesome if he came to Chicago....theres no way he can't eventually come since its such a big city...
  24. I was just wondering if Mika has any concerts/gigs/performances scheduled for us folks in the States within the next few months...or is it too early to tell...
  25. Indeed, great work CW I've only been a member a few days and you've been a huge help.
