  1. 1.He said something about 'emo' being 'dangerous' and how he wanted to 'beat all those bands to death' meaning Fall Out Boy, Panic At The Disco, and My Chemical Romance. Then he tried to make up for it by saying he'd never even listened to any of those bands' music. 2. He's always arrogant...he thinks that the Killers are the best band in the world, and he made the statement that Sam's Town would be the best album in twenty years, and then got angry when the critics skewered it, likely for that reason 3. He said some pretty dumb stuff about Green Day for filming their 'Bullet in a Bible' dvd in the UK rather than the US, calling them anti-American for it ...so yeah...he's said other stuff, but those are the main ones....didn't mean to put a damper on this thread, because the Killers are a good band...anyway, carry on.
  2. whoever said Roger isn't an amazing drummer is a loser...how many other drummers are there that sing at the same time? I can't even think of nay other than Roger offhand...
  3. I tried that when I first got a myspace a few months back, but got nothing...I did get added to Mika's actual myspace thing, so its cool.
  4. wow...I haven't said hi to any new members in ages....anyway hi, welcome, and have fun!
  5. when I first saw that I was like, there's no way its been that many...then I noticed I figured out its the U.K one....that one has tons of better songs than ours would... I may have to order it, since Mika has the first place on there...
  6. I hope I'm not the only one who finds Freddie's bewildered look after that weird noise as one of the most hilarious things ever... :roftl:
  7. My favorite Killers video would have to be All These Things That I've Done. I love how the events in the video are out of sequence and always confusing myself trying to figure out why which scene goes where whenever I watch it. Mr. Brightside is probably my second favorite video of theirs, followed by Somebody Told Me and then the videos from Sam's Town.
  8. Anyone who wants to add me, feel free.
  9. thats awesome! er, I think that to post a video, you'd have to put in on youtube or something like that, and then post the link with the right tags around it...but I don't know what the tags are....
  10. I live in Chicago, which is probably best known around the world for the Sears Tower (its got the white pointy-things on top) which was the tallest building in the world up until a few years ago.
  11. this, without a doubt, is the best picture EVER! and it proves why Queen is the greatest band ever.
  12. haha, as I predicted, a Deacy thread! I agree, Deacy is the final piece of the puzzle that made Queen what it was. And without him, there would've been no Another One Bites the Dust! or I Want To Break Free (btw, the video with the band in drag is hilarious) or the bass from Under Pressure, which Vanilla Ice stole and used for one of his loser songs... so yeah, Deacy rocks!
  13. Despite my personal opinion about someone in the band's attitude *coughBrandoncough* they still make good music. I would'nt recommend starting with Sam's Town, because that won't really give you a good picture of what the band is capable of. Hot Fuss, on the other hand, is hands down one of the best albums of the new millennium, so start there. honestly, there really isn't a bad song on Hot Fuss...okay all this talking about it, now I have to go listen to it...
  14. I've seen Mika once on tv here, and that was the tonight show. They have Love Today as the music on some random commercial that I can't really think of, but thats about it. I try distance myself from the typical American whose music tastes aren't that great, but there are some of us, like myself and the other Americans here at the Mika message boards that stray away from the norm. I know its probably tiring to hear Mika being compared to these two artists, but Scissor Sisters are very successful outside the U.S., as was Queen. So being popular in the U.S. dosen't necessarily mean much if you've got strong support elsewhere - the only reason the goal is to be huge here is the fact that its one of the larger markets for records, for example, the biggest selling record ever in the U.S. was around 30 million copies, while the biggest selling record ever in the U.K (Queen's Greatest Hits! yay!) was 5 million copies...so yeah
  15. haha...I s'pose it was only a matter of time before Roger got a thread...I guess soon there'll be a Deacy one too. But anyway, Roger is an amazing drummer, and imo, the best ever (well, aside from beautiful Cherisse... ) and one of the most amazing singers in rock and roll as well (seriously, some of the notes he hits on the Queen records...amazing) and he also writes some great songs....some...because no matter how awesome a singer and drummer Roger is, some of his Queen songs were, well, not so good. ...but he's still awesome. :punk:
  16. I got mine awhile ago...when it came out in the UK...I logged onto itunes' UK store, and it accidentally let me buy it...so I burned it right away in case they noticed and deleted it from my library... but I actually want a hard copy, and I saw it at Border today for 10.99 (which was a shock cause their cd's are usually like, 15 or 16) and I'm gonna buy it tomorrow... :punk:
  17. Jeff Buckley is amazing too...now I have to go listen to Grace...
  18. ah yes, I found that some time ago to, when I first started listening to Queen and would randomly type 'freddie mercury greatest male vocalist' into google...and of course its absolutely right... :punk:
  19. grrrrrr....I hate that! you have to buy about ten different versions of the same cd to get all the bonus tracks...oh well, since its Mika, it won't be so bad... :punk:
  20. I was lucky that I managed to catch the tonight show last night, and I have to say, I thought Mika and the band were awesome ...this was my first time seeing them actually on tv, not on youtube....
  21. I honestly don't believe that this is true...SS and Mika have a similar sound, and its obvious that he's drawn off of their style somewhat, but not so much as to be ripping off their sound...also, SS are already huge (at least in the UK) so why would they even be worried about Mika becoming successful?
  22. Some people are just assholes:furious: ...It seems like famous people would get death threats for coming out and revealing their sexuality, not refusing to comment on it...but again, people who make these kinds of threats tend to be losers, and while they're usually just lonely idiots with no life, this sort of thing is still nothing to mess around with, so Mika needs to be careful...
  23. already? curse Mika and his awesomeness! :roftl: ....but seriously, I'd really like to get this...*searches online*
  24. I really need to start coming here more often...I had no idea there was a North American fans thread....
  25. Does anyone know where I can get a copy of Mika's Dodgy Holiday EP? or is it even still available...
