All of Mika's acoustic stuff is awesome...he's one of the few artists that I know of that sounds just as good or better live than on studio recordings...

In my opinion, it really wouldn't matter. With Mika, I saw his video before hearing the song by itself, so yeah, the fact that he was way above average in the looks department was present, but what actually drew me in was the voice...because when I first heard Grace Kelly, he sounded eerily like Freddie Mercury in his early days (I know everyone's tired of the comparison, but its true)...There's been plenty of artists who I've heard on the radio, or heard their songs on commercials that I liked but didn't actually see until awhile later, and they were good-looking as often as not, and that really dosen't change my opinion of their music. So the same would go for Mika...with a voice that brilliant, it would'nt have mattered even if Mika looked as if he'd been beaten with an ugly stick.

He is a good-looking dude. I wish I looked like that...I already have the hair...and the face too, sorta, but I'd need to work out to get that thin!

he should do Eleanor Rigby, from the Beatles! its so sad and beatiful...

bah, and I was beginning to like the Kaiser Chiefs...the new single Ruby is, well, crap compared to Grace Kelly, I mean honestly, when was the last time a song like Grace Kelly was around? anyway, so what if they get number 1, like someone else said in another thread, when Mika releases his next single, he'll just be number 1 again. but just to join in the violence: :gun_bandana: :rocket: :sniper:

ooh, as long as we're talking about Queen songs, how bout Mustapha?...Mika would sound awesome doing that one......or anything that Roger Taylor does those crazy high notes on...cause I think Mika's one of the few people who could actually hit them right...

Any of those would be awesome, especially Somebody To Love, but Barcelona...I could just imagine how utterly amazing Mika would sound singing that...

I dunno...I'm sure they do...the critics and such tend to like people that the majority of the public may not...I try not to keep comparing Mika to Scissor Sisters, but a lot of the music-buying public will see him as the same as them, and may write him off, while the people myself and the other U.S. fans on the message boards here who (from what I can gather) tend to look at artists from all around the world, will likely like Mika's stuff.

I think what they mean is that its not normal for what you hear on the radio here...its weird, amazing, and hyperactive, in addition to be original all at the same time.

okay, Mika looks nothing like Borat...nothing...I say whatever person is stupid enough to make such a comparison should be pelted with garbage or something......thats just my slightly violent opinion...

um...I have their second album...and I like it...*is paranoid* they're not that bad....and the lead singer dude really does look like Mika....:biggrin:

Thanks! I've got all sorts of things on various other message boards and such for my screen name, and when I came here I sat trying to think of something different...so I thought of The Fairy Feller's Master Stroke from Queen II, which is one of my favorite songs from their early days, and is very theatrical and quirky, like Mika's songs, so I thought it fit well. I really hope I get a chance to see the painting, too.

I ordered the album, and it really is great. most of it is really fun and makes you want to sing along, and then there's a couple songs that are just simply beautiful... ....and you're so lucky getting to meet Freddie! (I'm a huge Queen fan too, and am jealous of anyone who's met any member of the band )
