Hi, I just voted...I was really rooting for Mika as we've heard how hard he has worked on the presentation. He wasn't bad; but the duet with Beth ditto didn't really work...at all. He was ill as well, which accounts for his wavering voice and made me cringe at times- on the whole he didn't do a bad job. I think he should have had his band on the stage with him, he may have relaxed a bit at the times where he looked uncomfortable... I'm so gutted he didn't get the Best Male award, he really deserved that along with the British Breakthrough Act- oh well the fight with the industry continues...

I wouldn't be surprised if Mika's left the building...he looked so gutted and rightly so!! Mika SHOULD have won best male...not Mark Ronson. I think even Mark would agree with that. One consolation is that he recieved the breakthrough artist...on second thoughts- that's not enough to swallow the disappointment....

Its a shame that what started off as advice has turned into an argument: but thats what you get on a forum with more then 7000 members! There are however some very good pointers: (sorry I will be repeating what has already been said!) Specific arguments should be reported; when you have a "third" party with an objective/neutral position the end decision is more easily accepted by both parties. There was adivce suggesting to "avoid" threads/posts where you feel you are being attacked, victimised etc- it really isn't worth letting yourself getting upset over eps. when you hardly know the person (in most cases that is) and EVERYONE is entitled to their opininon. I'm surprised that a lot people have said that they haven't noticed much negativity on the forum, I see that as a good thing though (hopefully it suggests that it isn't as widespread) but as someone who has been on the recieving end- I can vouch that there is and it isn't plesant... On the whole, I find this forum an excellent resource for information (gig reports, Photos, reviews) and opinions- but there's always room to improve- isn't there a section devoted for ideas and suggestions somewhere???

Christine made an interesting point. Mika is always looking at ways to improve, (I suppose its part of his work ethic:mf_rosetinted:) which is why you have the cameraman asking questions etc etc...I really don't think that he'd mind this observation/suggestion of JackViolet's and seeing as there a lot of people who are in agreement he probably would take notice.

I got a txt from MIKA asking you to vote for him at the BRITS, but I didn't get charged for it. Perhaps you get charged for replying to it i.e. voting by text??

Thats not a bad idea..., but how will you decide what to have and not have- or will it include everything that gets sent it? Some of the reviews are repetitive (excluding personal tid-bits etc), will you chop some bits out etc...?

Awww, no-ones picking on Mika- he isn't doing anything wrong, as far as I can tell it's just constructive critism- how one can better oneself, or reach their potential etc, etc... but I love those pictures of ice, terrifyingly beautiful...
