I like this review , thanks for posting! I find it be a bit ~"third person"- it would have been interesting to hear the authors own thoughts on what she, Hayley Revell, made of Mika- for the most part she just sounded like an outsider making observations and didn't participate.

It started off well and then got lost, I think.... - Marmite review in itself??! "while the ballads smother with schmaltz" I suppose in fairness I can relate to what the author is saying here. I too feel that the ballads lack feeling and are played out in a frenzy and have been progressively so with each concert. BUT I also remember hearing e.g. MI, SITM, HE in the early days, where you could feel the emotions being expressed with precise clarity. (People have said that MI was sung too quickly, I think firstly at SBE (May 07)) I cannot agree that Mika lacks lyric writing qualities- I think the author got lost in his own interpretation of the "showmanship" and couldn't see past the ticker tape and balloons...

Sorry, he (Mika) wasn't being exact... English coloquials: horses mouth meaning that it came straight from Mika himself; Mika was on the phone live on radio talking to the DJ...

I know exactly what you mean about the come down- trust me it does get easier with time!! One of the arguments for becoming the "official fan club" is that there are more members registered here then on the Mikasounds.com website- I've just looked and it states that there are in fact 7307 registered users, which makes a difference of only 380 users...that can't be right can it??? Hi...funnily enough I remember discussing lyrics with you ages back!!

I got a newsletter (surprised that those who are signed up aren't receiving any..?? )... There was a bulletin, posted on MySpace, a couple of days ago mentioning that Bonderole (??) would be the support act for the 2nd...I must say that I'm not at all impressed with their music (a mish-mash of sounds). I would have preferred Palladium- oh well!!

If I remember correctly: at SBE they asked 2 queues to be formed one for stalls and the other for standing only- so I'm presuming that this will happen at Brixton also...????

Ummm...not too sure about them. I did hear some of their material from their website- but it didn't really stand out in anyway. The're not bad though... I noticed that they won't be supporting Mika on the 2nd of December at Brixton....does anyone know who the support act will be??
