  1. My Interpretation was sang very quickly and although I have nothing against Sara- I didn't like the way she swung from side to side like "lollipop girl"...Maybe she got the act wrong:naughty:- I have a video clip trained on just Sara as I thought I was imagining it! Will try to upload it tomorrow (new camera haven't a clue how to play it all back!) My memory fails me at this point- but I'll come back if I remember anything else:wink2:
  2. I'm remembering it all in bits, so forgive me if its not in sync. Billy Brown Mika: "Are there any critics in the house?" We all shouted yesss! Mika: "Well actually I don't care!" Ok.... We all laughed at that and my thoughts immediately went to JackViolets post about repeating soundbites etc- his introduction to BB was simply: here's Billy Brown:roftl: Big Girls Wow Ally certainly has come a long way from the shy girl we recently were talking about. She exuded confidence and flare- she is an extremely good looking woman and now very confident. IMO. She may disagree and say she always was
  3. Hey everyone, I'm back...I didn't wait to get to see if I could meet Mika so am now at home.... Half way through the opening act, Yelle, I realised that this was the 3rd time I was seeing them. Despite knowing very little French I recognised their play list so waiting for Mika to come on wasn't actually a drag. Right where to start?? Mika's performance was very good, coming from someone who has seen him at 8 times- thats the most exclamation you're going to get from me!! What I mean from that is, it is all familiar and watching him was like watching an old friend and feeling chuffed that they've risen to this level of adoration...I felt calm and enjoyed every minute of it...well not all, but more of that later!! I won't go into detail about the performance- I wanted to, this time round pay attention to what he was saying- and he did talk a fair bit.
  4. I thought Cazgirl would be on??? but since no-ones answered your question: EDIT: Ok so it has been answered:bleh: Cazgirl won a MySpace comp in May 2007 for the SBE Gig, basically you were asked to dress up "Fantastically" or do a video in dress up dancing to one of Mika's songs. 5 winners were picked (I think???) and got free tickets to the gig. I think that there were other places that people won tickets for: Leeds, Birmingham...Such a long time ago:wink2:
  5. Ummm not sure about that; it did say that office opens when doors do, so I'm presuming that's 7:00pm... EDIT: Just checked, office opens 2 hrs prior! Yeah I'll txt something...I have to figure out this camera though before I get there, but I don't want to be playing with it on th etube or anything!!
  6. Hey Miss F- what are you doing here!!! I'm about to get ready...not quite yet...
  7. "professed vocal range of five octaves has elevated him to a staple of the daytime radio playlists" ok, its not true: 4-4.5 maybe, but its said in a praiseworthy manner so I forgive them
  8. eek...sorry, again in haste- I've just realised that I posted in the wrong thread- the ticket is for the 26th (tomorrow) and not Thursday 28/02/08. Sorry...
  9. EDIT: 26/02/08 OK MFC: I have just managed to buy a ticket off ticketweb for stalls- yeah!! I had previously bought, in haste, a ticket for the circle- and only realised it when it was too late... Anyway if there is anyone on here who wants to go and doesn't mind being up in the circle, the tickets is yours for free!! The only thing is I have to pick up my other ticket at the box office, and doors open at 7:00, so I probably won't get there until 6ish. PM me if you're interested.

  12. http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/music/features/mum-rock-the-sensation-sweeping-the-nation-786845.html The Independent recommends a musical gift for the 50 something mother... "50-something mother Where mum rock meets granny rock, the fiftysomething demographic bestrides a vast array of styles. Crossover stars such as the Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli may be panned by classical critics but he sells by the lorryload – 60 million albums to date. The blind singer's Mother's Day offering is the new album Live in Tuscany. Michael Jackson's status as one of the giants of pop music has been fatally undermined by his car crash of a private life, but his record company was banking there was still sufficient appetite for a 25th anniversary release of his epic long player Thriller – and their hopes were rewarded when it clinched the number three position on the UK album charts this week. The Lebanese-born singer songwriter Mika's first album, Life In Cartoon Motion, spawned six singles. A professed vocal range of five octaves has elevated him to a staple of the daytime radio playlists, helping him to build a loyal inter-generational army of fans."
  13. Its great review, thanks for posting I can't wait for his second album...
  14. Hey there and welcome! I'm afraid I have to disagree with you there- the opening wasn't as spectacular as we KNOW it could have been and was because he was suffering with bronchitis. I loved the scenery and backdrop though…I think he’s great but this wasn’t his best- Sorry!! There were obvious Mishaps: being off-key, shortening notes sometimes not even hitting them and losing his breath etc. The duet with Beth Ditto was a mistake. I do think he should have had the band members on stage with him; he would have looked less awkward on stage and he could have interacted with them instead of the (BRIT School) audience. You may have a point there; we know Mika is in the business because he wants to write songs and perform. But losing out on an award (awarded by the music industry), when you know you pretty much deserved it- is a disappointment if nothing else. Obviously we won't know the extent of that disappoinment, and are perhaps projecting our own onto the situation- I know I am! Having said that, the look on Mika's face, when Mark Ronson was announced as the winner of Best Male is unmistakenly- gutted. IMO. Of course he wants attention and to be recognised! He wouldn't be touring like there's no tomorrow and risking his health to do it, if all he wanted to do was write and sing songs. If Mika didn't really care about the awards he wouldn't turn up to accept them.
  15. Hey Babs, you do deserve this...thanks for all your effort....etc, etc... *waits earnestly to see what Babs reaction to this thread is like*
  16. God Forbid- I can just about stomach the Dance remixes!! That's ok; Thanks:wink2: - I suppose it shows that I'm a "Real Fan"
  17. Well apparently Falsetto=Freddie Mercury and therefore = Mika:mf_rosetinted: Ummm...I thought that Amy Winehouse did have the best live act on stage that night (definitely NOT with Mark Ronson) but on her own- yes she twitches a lot (she can't dance; you can't have everything) but you can't beat that voice, "Love is a losing game" was heart breaking to listen to- I think the authors description was very accurate. (The artists who did were many things — thrilling, confusing, off-key — but never boring- I must admit I was thinking of Mika at this point )
  18. I know what you mean Gata; I felt incredibly protective over him when I watched the Brits opening,(there were times when I hid behind the cushion I was holding cringing and praying no-one noticed the "little" hiccups:roftl: ) but I felt proud too. We know how well he performs anyway; I suppose I wanted it to be perfect, because critics will always be critics and not too forgiving.... To answer the original question: I'm not aware of whether I panick/worry about his performances- that much anyway :partytime2:Aww Happy 6th Birthday to the little one...(not little any more eh?)
  19. I think so...???! It is laughable; their opinion is baseless and its just a cheap shot ?? ....I need to laugh :roftl:
  20. Thanks, I'm going to watch this when I get home, paying particular attention to his mis-pronounciation of his highness's name...
  21. You're right; I didn't like the tone or the reference, to just letting him have the award, rather then him actually deserving it. Obviously we know better!
  22. Ha ha! I'm quite tempted actually!!
  23. I like it (don't let onto Miss F though )- I thought it referred to your first meeting with Mika (you did meet him in Manchester, didn't you??)
