  1. I've been told unofficially that this is happening, but they haven't announced it yet. Not sure why. So I guess it's fine to go ahead and consider it "real."
  2. Thanks, Anna. In a way, I'm sort of glad I can't understand the French fully in this interview. Just seeing Mika wipe away the tears and watching his face is enough to break my heart. I don't know if I could bear hearing the whole thing.
  3. I'm also checking in to say yes, it's QUITE. I don't even remember that anyone ever suggested it was "what a good-looking face" -- I guess I don't pay much attention to other people's versions of the lyrics, not even the "official" lyrics. I trust my own ears more! It's like I could never understand how people could listen to that bit and say that it *wasn't* Mika speaking! I mean, have you heard Mika talk before? Anyhow, yes, I'm quite sure it's quite.
  4. Looking for seated places for the Manchester and/or Wolverhampton gigs for another fan. She has standing tickets, but needs seated instead now -- would be willing to trade. Please lmk if you hear of anything. Thanks!
  5. Mika has announced that he will be appearing in Athens once again in Summer 2024! He'll be at the Lycabettus Theatre on 2 July! Tickets are on sale now: https://www.more.com/music/rockwave-nights-mika/ Don't forget to RSVP on our events calendar if you'll be attending!
  6. I didn't have to pay any customs or duty, just exorbitant shipping costs. On just the vinyl, no other merch, shipping was €35.62 They vinyl cost €49.99.
  7. I don't see it on Channel 4's schedule for December 19th currently, but I do think it was meant to be televised that date originally. Probably some publications went to press before Channel 4 changed their schedule, that's why we're seeing conflicting information.
  8. Yes, that's why I said "that weren't used in Mika's video" -- don't want to tangle with those lawyers!
  9. I have asked about this several times and have not gotten a definitive answer. I'm not sure what the actual problem is -- whether it's political, or it has to do with taxes and import fees, customs, or what. The countries that are omitted seem so random. In any case, the answer is "Who knows? Your guess is as good as mine." About the only thing I can suggest is that you ask someone in one of the countries that the French shop will ship to, to get something and ship it to you. Sadly, shipping costs are out of this world now, but unless you can be patient and hope that there's merch at the upcoming gigs, I don't know what else you can do. Sorry.
  10. Bravo! You know, if you -- or any of you -- wants to post your videos that weren't used in Mika's video on Insta or TikTok, please tag the MFC or let me know, and I'll repost them. They shouldn't go to waste, as you say!
  11. Mika will be performing on the final day of the Festival du Roi Arthur in Breal-sous-Montfort, France, on 25th August 2024! Tickets are on sale now here: https://www.festivalduroiarthur.fr/billetterie/ Don't forget to RSVP if you're planning to go!
  12. That's HUGE news! Very happy to see this confirmed!
  13. There is supposed to be merch at the upcoming gigs. From what I've been told it may even be different merch than we've already seen. Bristol was a real anomaly. Not sure why they surprised us with it -- I'm sure most of us would have bought it on the spot if we had known about it!
  14. https://www.irishexaminer.com/lifestyle/artsandculture/arid-41280745.html Album review: Mika blooms in French with Que ta Tête Fleurisse Toujours Mika broke through in 2007, but his new album suggests there's still life in his music career Mika during the pre match show ahead of the Rugby World Cup 2023 in Paris. Picture: Mike Egerton/PA Wire Fri, 01 Dec, 2023 - 02:00 Ed Power Mika Que ta Tête Fleurisse Toujours ★★★★☆ It’s 16 years since Mika exploded onto the pop landscape with his diligently playful chart-topping debut Life In Cartoon Motion. He went on to release a string of albums – but his recent prominence is partly owed to a performance at the Rugby World Cup opening ceremony in France and to his hosting of the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest in Turin. Some of that Eurovision pizazz has rubbed off on the artist born Michael Holbrook Penniman Jr, whose latest LP – his first entirely in French – brims with Europop exuberance. That it isn’t in English might be off-putting to some – yet Que ta tête fleurisse toujours (“May Your Head Always Bloom”) is one of the catchiest things he’s ever done, as underscored from the start with the techno-Abba throb of opener 'Bougez'. It’s a twinkle-toed scene-setter for a record which rarely allows the pace to drop. Mika dabbles with tasteful Euro-trance on Jane Birkin while a starry-eyed restlessness fuels Apocalypse Calypso. Mika was born in Lebanon, was largely raised in Paris, and is at home singing in French. He has also had his ups and downs. The success of Life In Cartoon Motion was overwhelming, and for several years, he struggled to push forward with the second act of his career. “When you tour as much as I do, the writer in you dies. My first album was massive. The second album was much harder to push. I promoted it in person,’ he said in 2012 when he sounded ready to throw in the towel. “It came at a price. I was spent. That shit doesn’t come for nothing.” But he seems to have come back around to the idea of being a pop star. He also embraced a variety of styles on the new project: 'Moi Andy et Paris', for instance, dabbles in glossy folk, while 'Touche Touche' is an enjoyably slick bopper. A solid return ends on a downbeat note with the plaintive 'Passager '– a reminder there’s more to Mika than pomp and ceremony.
  15. I just wanted to note that Mika will not be at this book launch in person -- he'll be appearing remotely, via Zoom, I believe.
  16. Yes, he'll be appearing via Zoom, not in person for this book launch.
  17. No, as far as I know there was never a CD made of this recording, but he did perform "Rain" with her on a show called "From Pop Star to Opera Star" back in early 2010.
  18. Yes, to be more specific - Epirus Falls is Andy's Instagram (IG) account, based on his podcast of the same name. Epirus is the region of Greece that his family was from and that he discusses on his podcast.
  19. Yes, I tried to take a screenshot, too, but they apparently have it blocked. But what I could get out of the interview itself was indeed very touching.
  20. Oh, not before then? Or maybe a replay? I won't be home on Christmas Day so won't be able to watch.
  21. It looks like F'Estivada is on the festival's website, too, but I haven't been able to get confirmation from Mika's team yet. https://festivada-rodez.fr/
  22. Whoa whoa whoa! You're not allowed to watch a Mika video while you're in the NC! This is supposed to be punishment!
