  1. Thanks, Naomi! Right now I'm thinking we'll do something on the 8th in London, and then something on the 10th, in Dublin. I'm thinking of a pub party with drink and finger foods in both places, unless someone has other ideas and you all want to get more adventurous. I think the weather will still be on the cool side and rather "iffy" as far as rain goes, so maybe we won't do anything outdoors, but I'm listening for any suggestions! Also looking for an idea of how many to expect in each city -- so if you're going to either of the gigs and want to join in a get-together the night before, be sure to go to the RSVP and let us know you'll be there. Based on past experience, I'm guessing we might have as many as 80 in London, probably fewer for Dublin?
  2. My husband thinks it will be OK, too, but that it will have a metallic taste, since it's in a metal (stainless steel?) bottle. I'm not going to risk it. I'm also not going to try the sugar packets I found yesterday in with my souvenirs from our last trip to Italy in 2006! Why on earth did I save those? My husband says they will probably be OK, too -- sugar doesn't spoil. It's the "probably" that is holding me back!
  3. I never got the I Love Beirut shirt, I didn't realize it was not wearing well. I don't think the Revelation Tour shirts were so great, and even though I haven't worn it, I've heard complaints about the Bristol t-shirt -- the rosette coming off in the wash. I've only worn my white Rite of Spring shirt once or twice, but it seems OK. But when you have issues like this, please let me know. I pass this sort of info on to Mika's team, so they're aware for when they make the next merch.
  4. Oops. I meant to post about them. Totally forgot! I know, right?! And a little of this to go with it! Yep, when I saw it, I knew I had to add it! Just some things for fun! I just realized there was one more I was going to add, forgot to upload it...
  5. I love that movie! Underrated. Anyhow... both is probably possible. And possibly probable!
  6. Well, the topic title says it all, really. It seems like it's time to start planning an MFC get-together for the upcoming tour! We have a history of holding a big gathering whenever Mika plays in London because so many MFCers come from all over to that city. Given that the next London gig is a little more than two months away, I'd say it's time to get serious about planning, if we're going to do it. Of course, Mika plays in Dublin two days after London, and that date is basically the last one for that leg of the Apocalypso, so maybe we ought to consider a party there instead? OR... I guess we could do something in both cities, if enough people are interested. Let's get the conversation started!
  7. As a control freak, I can only say, "I wish that were true!"
  8. This is amazing news, CJ! It's a little strange that they dubbed English voices and then subtitled it in Arabic, but I'll take it! Thanks for posting! EDIT: OK, maybe our excitement is a bit premature -- Vox Cinemas is a chain of movie theaters in the Middle East, which will be showing the film. "With 57 locations totalling 573 screens across the region, including 237 screens in the UAE, 15 screens in Lebanon, 63 screens in Oman, 30 screens in Bahrain, 44 screens in Egypt, 149 screens in Saudi Arabia and 17 screens in Kuwait, VOX Cinemas is the Middle East’s largest and most rapidly growing exhibitor." Of course, if version of the film exists in English, that means that they may eventually release it in English on DVD, or at least stream it in English-speaking countries, so all hope is not lost.
  9. Mika will be performing on the third day of Festival les Deferlantes, 12 July, at the Jardins du Lydia. Tickets are already on sale HERE. Don't forget to RSVP on our Events Calendar if you're going!
  10. Totally random - someone left a comment on our YouTube video about the MFC Tour Boat in Paris, and I went to YT to reply... which meant that I had to watch the video itself. What a happy memory. Somehow, it seemed appropriate to me to remember that truly GOOD DAY here at the beginning of a new year. Reminded me of just how much I love this fan club, and all of you who make it what it is -- whether you were there in Paris or not. So thank you! And here it is if you need a dose of "feel good" too! Thank you @Ceriise for putting it together!
  11. Great, Dee! And yes, I know what you mean about posting publicly -- it makes you feel more accountable. I do that myself sometimes. Also, as I have been reading through, I have made a running list whenever I've noticed something that needs to be updated -- I refer to this Mikapedia *a lot* and appreciate the work you've done here so much! You probably already know about the things I have on my list, but just in case you don't... and if there's ever anything I can do to help out, please lmk!
  12. Hmm, you know I was so focused on seeing something new about Freddie, that I really didn't even think of Mika while watching. I need to watch it again!
  13. That's one name I don't think we've seen in relationship to Mika before... but I guess that doesn't mean there isn't one.
  14. If it's the same one QBF was referring to, it was Freddie Mercury: The Final Act. There are excerpts on YouTube, haven't found the entire program yet.
  15. Coincidentally... I watched what must be the same doc the other night as well. I thought it was quite recent, saw at the end it was 2021. Had a lot of footage that I had never seen before, so I was really interested in it. I have to admit that I was pretty much oblivious about the concert that Queen held after Freddie died -- but that was in 1992, the year I had my son, so I think I was oblivious to almost everything that year. I have a very vague memory of Annie Lennox and Bowie doing Under Pressure, but I don't think I ever heard the story about Elton and Axl Rose duetting or that George Michael had sung Somebody to Love. I was really out of the loop! In any case, I think the story about Freddie having the massive 3-day party is supposed to have happened when he originally found out he had AIDS. I think I might be inclined to have a big blow-out in that situation, too, so I wouldn't blame him if he had actually done that, but a lot of people have said isn't true. But yes, it was interesting to learn just how much Freddie threw himself into his work at very end. And Mika does tend to do the very same. I know I'm exhausted just trying to follow from a distance, I don't know how he does it.
  16. ??? I wasn’t criticizing or chastising, just giving you more emoji options for “Infuriated”.
  17. No it was some TV show. I know I have the Koko gig somewhere. I think I’d like to watch it again. It’s been a while.
  18. Also and and OK, the puppy is adorable. And I just wanted to state for the record the first time I heard someone refer to Mika as a "pop tart" was a UK TV presenter way back in 2007. So I went looking to find the performance, but couldn't find it. But I ran across this old fave video instead. And since this is the random thread, I'm going to be random and leave it here for your viewing pleasure:
  19. Even if he knew they were going to talk about his mother, and maybe he even knew about the video, I think it hit him harder than he expected. I mean, it's his mother, after all. No matter how much time has passed, it's still going to hurt.
  20. As I said in the other thread, I've been told this is actually happening even though Mika's team hasn't officially announced it yet.
