Mika is performing in the red carpet show at the MTV Video Music awards in Japan as we know. The red carpet show is listed to be a live broadcast on MTV Japan from 1630- 1800 on May 26th. There will also be repeats at 5月26日（土）22：30～24：00 5月27日（日）12：00～13：30 5月27日（日）22：00～23：30 5月28日（月）13：30～15：00 5月31日（木）7：30～9：00 6月2日（土）24：00～25：30 Surely SOMEONE in Japan will record this and upload it to youtube (you have to be an MTV TV subscriber, which we are not) ....we live in hope....(desperation???)

I am working on converting my "age-group" and trying to save them from being stuffy and old....can I be an angel too pls???

I heard about Mika straight from Brian May on his website, in July 2006 , an article from somewhere entitled MIKA: LOVECHILD OF MERCURY AND BOLAN. Seemed an interesting combination LOL so I listened, and then again in Dec 2006, Brian wrote that Mika was someone to watch, so I began to watch and listen to MIKA much more, and more avidly. I waited and waited for his CD, and when it finally came out, I bought one from the UK, but couldn't wait for it to arrive, so got another one here...and I have been converted from being a youtube-addict to being an MFC addict!! All for the love of MIKA!! And I also have the US version of the CD and soon I will have the Japanese version. YAY!! (That's 4 CDs so far if you are counting!)

Hi Anakin Haven't seen you round for a while. Are you going to either of the shows in Japan? I was hoping to go May 26th to MTV, but looks like you need an entrance ticket after all and they are only by lottery?? Do you know any real okakke fans who have inside info on where he will be...like HMV or anywhere?? Do I sound desperate...oh yeah... I am!!! I posted my warm fuzzy thoughts to Mrs P here ages ago, and the post must have got eaten in the move from the old forum to the new!! Oh well. I think with everything she must have been through as a mum, with one of her kids being bullied, having dyslexia, having to take him out of school, and 4 other kids to take care of, a husband who was stuck in Kuwait for so long, etc etc, she has an inner strength we can only admire!! Also bringing kids up in a country that is not your own has its own challenges, and she appears to have done amazingly well. (I am bringing up my 3 kids outside my home country/culture/language, so I know it can be tough!!) I would love to know what she thinks her 10 best decisions as a parent were...maybe we can all learn something from her!!

Just remembered...I use GK and Lollipop for the jumping around time in my toddler group..and they are all two years old, and they love it. In another older group (the 4 year olds) when I put on GK she said "Oh that is the same song my Dad likes!" (here in Japan...CD not out till June 20 here...so that is pretty cool!)

My son is 7 and loves MIKA...but have you seen the youtube vid of the little girl singing Happy Ending? I can't find it now, but she was a great singer and probably only about 4....

When we were on holiday in Singapore at the end of March, I heard Relax in one of the shopping malls and I was like "Kids, kids! listen! Mika is even in Singapore!!" (my kids know I am crazy anyway) and my next thought was I must tell MFC...but then I forgot after we got back... My most embarrassing moment so far was walking through Tokyo (where I live) and trying to find the big poster of Mika on the building so I could show you all, and when I eventually found it , I shrieked out (I was by myself) OH MY GOD THERE HE IS!!! :shocked: It was huge. Then I was sheepishly looking round to see who noticed, but everyone in Japan is very good at ignoring strange outbursts, luckily!!!

Did he say he was a control freak and PARANOID?? What a cute collage of the faces of Mika...and I love listening to him speak French even though I don't really understand much!!

I have a good book called Queen in their own words, and the quotes from the interviews are classics. My kids have all been 100% persuaded, they sing Mika all the time now (they are little). And as for friends they seem to think that at a certain age one should probably give up these things, so I keep trying to get them to listen to the music to show them they are WRONG. Mika is age-free (sort of like barrier-free...):wheelchair:

I think the clincher for me finally accepting it was pre-recorded was when I checked out Perez's site for the time he mentioned both Lilly Allen and Amy Winehouse, and it was a couple of weeks ago, so that would fit with the whole timeframe of the bleached hair and the paternity leave. But it was still a lot of fun to listen to, even if it wasn't live....I so wanted to believe it was live....oh well!!!

That's my feeling too, but if we are the MFC and none of us know, who the heck will know...SUNNY come back we NEEEEEED yooooouuuu!!

Mika is not due in Oz till May 31st (after Japan and Hong Kong)...and with a show later this week in the UK I am pretty sure the jetlag of flying from Australia to the UK and then performing would be a shocker. It was hard to know if it really was LIVE, but the Perez site post was pretty convincing. After all Perez is at the computer 16-17 hours a day in that coffee shop....

Rainbow Sky and Happikali I was on another thread (the one where we were listening to the BBC show and posting simultaneously ) and we were discussing if it was a real LIVE show or not...then someone posted that it wasn't because one of the MFCers said he was currently in Australia That is surely rubbish, just confirm for me...he is not there now is he??? (Me thinks no way, he is not due on this side of the globe till the end of the month)
