The vowel sound in can is short /a/, in can't it is /ar/ = carn't. (There is a word cant which means insincere statements - nothing to do with can/can't.)

Has anyone written up the lyrics to the English version of EMD? They are not a straight translation and I thought there'd already be a thread. Shall I make a start?

I do like the new French song, I much prefer the live Elle me Dit, to the recorded version and I l-o-v-e his jacket with the gold trim shaping it all the way round the hem. And it's got gold stars on :-)) (not what I gave him, but still, gold stars)

Thanks for the translation, Lilstar, I decided to spend the day listening over and over until I understood it all, but wasn't getting there. Has anyone written the French lyrics out please? I'm better at reading than listening. My first impression of the opening seconds was that it' was a straight copy from something/someone else. My long suffering son who has had to listen to my replay, replay, replay, says it has a sound like 'Brimful of Asha' too. But I like it and it's a great dance track.
