I've already put these on Rose's Facebook thread about FD, but it seems appropriate to share here too. These are from Doncaster.

FD was the first MFCer I met in RL. This was Leeds and he's here with my daughter and me. She was freaked out by the way Mika had come into my life and rocked my world - to say nothing of meeting strangers off the internet! But everyone was so friendly and welcoming that it soon became a regular occurrence and FD was often there brightening up the queue with his wit and humour.... He was an unusually friendly and kind man with an unflagging bounce and joy for life. It's sad to think that his light has gone out.

4 years? Good grief! Time is so odd, I can't believe it was only last year that I was in Edinburgh for the tattoo and the fringe (and an excellent performance of David Copperfield) and yet 4 years since Mika in Edinburgh. I miss him. Indeed.

I had a text this morning from my daughter saying she had heard -and liked - 'Mika's new single' on the radio. They played Blue Eyes!! Still any uk air time is good I guess. And I presume someone knew it was his birthday. . . Happy Birthday Mika x

Yes, it's 'she and I . . .' (were late meeting our friends, for example) because you should put yourself last and it would be 'I was', not 'me was'. Try it out as if you were on your own to sort out the I and me problem- then put yourself last.

I'm on holiday in France atm and I caught Mika on both c à vous and chanson d'année. Last year when I was here, he was doing the concert pour tous in Paris. Sadly now, it's football on tv!

Maybe it's always played for the reveal, but tonight I caught some of D.I.Y.SOS and, as they showed the family around their nicely improved house, Happy Ending was played in the background. Very nice!

I am shocked beyond words. . .BBC Radio 4 have just done a trailer for a program next week called, "What Would Elizabeth Bennett Do?" and they used Grace Kelly in the background. Not something I thought I would ever hear! It aired just before their flagship news program the World at One

She always knew that my mother, in war time, had worn a flowery dress and that I, rebelliously in the 70s, had chosen scarlet. When we looked for fabric we found this taffeta which is 'shot' - bright red for the weft and black for warp. It just seemed perfect for the warm and cosy theme. And it photographed well which was a bonus

And finally. . . bustled (sp?) for dancing The idea was to have a relaxed and friendly gathering in a nice setting with a mid winter cosy theme and I think we achieved that.
