  1. Happy Christmas Marina! Thank you for all your efforts in sharing Mika downloads with us! :huglove:

  2. Merry Christmas to my Mika-chasing partner in crime! :biggrin2:

I haz a "package" for you. :teehee:

  5. I just read your yearbook submission about your favourite song:

"Upon my first full listen of One Foot Boy I morphed into a kangaroo and bounced all around my bedroom in my pj's."

    :lmfao:

That made me laugh out loud. One Foot Boy = :punk::wub2:

  6. I see you're interested in helping with some yearbook layout :biggrin2:

    Two questions:

Have you done any sort of layout before?

    What software do you use?

    Thanks! :flowers2:

  7. Aww! :roftl:

Your dad's $1,000 is only like £500. I bet Mika spends that on a nice dinner out. :teehee:

Yeah, the sad thing was the day of the Toronto gig, all the people on Twitter being like "Huh? Mika's in Toronto? I didn't know!" Promotion fail. Not only does no one know who he is, but the few who DO know, didn't even know he was doing a gig. :bleh:

  8. The problem with Canada is that we're this absolutely gigonterous country, geographically speaking, and yet with a comparatively tiny population.

    Germany - 357,021 km² Population - 82,060,000

    Canada - 9,984,670 km² Population - 33,880,000

So really, if you're trying to spend as little as you can on your tour costs and yet reach as many fans as possible, Canada would be a very good country to shun.

John was telling us that a lot of the tours he's worked on skip Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba (:sneaky2:) because there are so few people, it doesn't make financial sense to travel those huge distances. Sigh. :tears:

  9. Hmm. Probably because Germany is quite a big country, and The Powers That Be wanted to route the tour through all the major German cities? :dunno:

I'm not sure exactly how tours are routed. I've been meaning to look into it more. I find it quite interesting. :teehee:

  10. Woman, where are you these days? I never see you on MSN. Am I being shunned? :tears:

  11. Thank you so much! :flowers2:

  12. Yes! I'm pretty sure that's it! A recipe would be great. :flowers2:

And, which other mod has Hungarian ancestry? How terrible that I don't know this. :aah:

  13. Hey suzie!

Random question: are you familiar with a Hungarian recipe (I can't remember what it's called!) involving boiled potatoes, sausage, and loads of paprika?

My grandfather on my Mom's side was from just outside Budapest, and he used to make it when I was little. Can't for the life of me remember what it's called, though! :aah:

  14. I can't imagine how it must have felt to wait for three years. I waited a year for my first gig after joining MFC, and it felt like a thousand years. Kudos to you for patiently waiting so long!

Mini Mana, eh? :lmfao: Who's calling you that? Oh well, I approve! I always wanted a New Zealander mini-me! :roftl: Although you're probably taller than me. I'm only 154 cm, or around 5'1". :bleh:

And I heard that he's talking about doing a full Oz tour. That would be amazing! Dear Mika; there's more to Australia than just Sydney. :naughty:

I asked where you're from because Andrew (my husband, AKA StandardToaster) has an auntie who lives in Whangamata, so I was curious if that was anywhere near you. I would love to head over to New Zealand, visit her, then move on to Australia to see a Mika gig and meet the Mikamites. One day, fingers crossed!

Are you back on earth yet, or still in the clouds? Post-gig depression hitting you at all?

  15. How about country Christmas music? Love, love these two!

  16. Hi Tiibet! Hope you are well. :huglove:

Is there any chance you'd be willing to upload the original video of One Foot Boy you took in Boston to something like Sendspace or Megaupload? I can't get over how perfect it is, I must have watched it on YouTube about 150 times. :wub2:

    Thanks,

    Mana

  17. Hey artsy/designy fellow moddie,

Any chance I could coerce you into doing some layout for the 2009 yearbook? Right now we have 11 sections and at most, four layout people. Yikes! :naughty:

  18. Heya!

Q: Do we have a timeline team for the yearbook? I don't see any names under that in the thread. :dunno:

Less than a month until the deadline! Do you want to plan to meet on MSN sometime to talk about the layout/production process? :biggrin2:

  19. Hey laydee!

I see you're signed up to do the layout on the "my favourite song is" part of the yearbook. I was thinking it might be cool to make it quite visual, and maybe divide it song by song. So for example, have a page for Blue Eyes that has some fan art and then all the people who put Blue Eyes as their fave.

Thoughts? Let me know if you have other ideas! :biggrin2:

  20. Loved your gig report! :fangurl:

And yes, a few people thought I'd secretly snuck off to Australia when they saw the pic Teegs tweeted of the queue, since it was only the back of your head visible. :roftl: I dub you my Kiwi Twin! :biggrin2:

What part of NZ do you live in?
