  1. Oh god...ok, I'm seriously buying a copy for everyone I know for Christmas.. How is this possible?
  2. I totally forget that most people probably don't even know that he is partly American. I guess, like Mika himself, I don't consider him to be ANY single nationality, so I don't even think about how that affects charting.
  3. Im getting very frustrated here in the states....I question the record company interest here. For awhile I was hearing things from radio station folks and independant music stores like "he can't be commercially promoted here because of his 'sexuality and flamboyance.'" I thought yeah, maybe it's a marketing issue because folks are rather small minded around here....but look at Adam Lambert now....we have an openly gay artist in the top 10 here in Georgia! The only single to be found in any store I have gone to is Grace Kelly. That's just wrong! I live in the heart of Atlanta, not the middle of nowhere... I have called different stations, and I don't understand how it's possible that major pop radio stations say they have never received any promotional material for TBWKTM, or that they don't know who Mika is. Why is he not being marketed properly?!
  4. YAY! This is great news. I think I really do lose sleep thinking about Mika album sales, which is sad... I am currently obsessed with getting Mika promoted in my area. I badgered my college radio station djs enough that they have actually mentioned him on the air and promise to play BIOTG next week. Big step here in the south, and people do actually listen to the station!
  5. I never understood why this cherry-picking was allowed in the first place! In my opinion, you should be able to download the singles seperately, but you should have to by the album if you want the other tracks.
  6. I think just Korea. All countries do it differently. Platinum status in Korea is 20,000 records sold, according to wikipedia.
  7. this is great! Naectegale, thank you so much for taking the time to get it uploaded and posted. :wub2:
  8. here's a couple headshots... the second one seems a bit wonky...but I guess it's better than the watermarks. more full shots to come soon.
  9. I am. Will be a bit though, as I'm still in class. (Here I am in a lecture, looking at this place instead of paying attention to the professor.... )
  10. ok, when I get home today I am gonna have to work on getting the watermarks off a few of those.
  11. Didn't see this anywhere yet..There's a few good quoteables, as usual. -------------------- Part 1: Mika has claimed that he was worried about recording The Boy Who Knew Too Much because second albums often fail to match their predecessors. The 'Rain' singer admitted that he listened to second records by other artists and was disappointed with what he found. "I listened to a lot of second albums. The songs are alright but not great. They're just boring," he told The Times "It felt like the singers had taken a couple of steps away from the microphone. It felt like they weren't good in bed like they used to be or didn't get as drunk as they would have before. They felt cautious. "In the end, I thought, you know what, I might as well have a f**king good time, otherwise I'll kill myself." Part 2: Popstar Mika has claimed that he "emotionally killed" someone. The 'Grace Kelly' singer, who has always refused to reveal his sexuality to the public, said that he feels like a "murderer" after a recent incident with a mystery man. He told The Times: "I emotionally killed a man. It was three weeks ago. It's complicated. Suffice to say that I am now a murderer." The musician also revealed that he wrote 2007 hit 'Love Today' after having sex, saying: "It came to me, fully formed, after the first time I had sleepy with someone and actually loved it." ----------------------- http://www.digitalspy.com/music/news/a188171/mika-second-albums-can-be-boring.html
