  1. I guess I'm in the minority but I like this song better than the French one. It sounds more interesting to me and quite catchy.
  2. Same, when he wrote "my new songs", I also didn't expect a cover... I feel very bad now for complaining but I guess I'm just thirsty for new Mika content after all the disappointments in the last months due to the pandemic. And unfortunately, most of his current projects aren't doing it for me. However, there's still the benefit gig.
  3. Tbh, I'm not even sure if he has already started working on that EP or if it was just an idea he had for the future... Maybe the EP will be the new book (but hopefully not).
  4. When he mentioned "two of the new songs" in yesterday's post, his EP project he mentioned earlier this year crossed my mind for a while but even then I thought that would be too good to be true... But I was hoping for at least one song in English too.
  5. Me too actually (different year though)... I have to say that now I'm slightly disappointed after yesterday's heart attack announcement as I was hoping for at least one song in a language I can understand, I was even looking forward to the Spanish one but now I don't know what to expect, I don't even know the other artists properly... But maybe I will be surprised at midnight.
  6. My first thought when I saw the pic: ...and my reaction after I've read the post:
  7. I have to say that I try not to have high expectations for the collab because I've listened to Danna's last two singles and tbh, both of them are really dull with the same lazy reggaeton beat... I listen to Spanish-language music quite a lot but I don't like her music, to me it lacks originality. On the other hand, I can't imagine Mika doing a song like this, maybe it's a ballad in Spanish and it will be a cute song. But I guess I prefer Danna as an actress.
  8. It's been a while since I've opened this thread but Troye just released a new EP called In A Dream and I think it's worth checking out if you are interested in his music (or even if not ), this song is probably my favourite:
  9. I sent my request 4 weeks ago after the new law was approved (still at the end of July) and I haven't even received a confirmation e-mail. I'm going to contact them too if I won't receive my money till the end of this month. I get that they have a lot of requests but from what I've heard, other promoters are way more customer-friendly and quite fast even under these conditions so i don't think I'm asking that much...
  10. When you visit a live stream on Youtube, usually there's a chat so maybe you can think about a fan action in the form of comments (if he pays attention to that at all)... But I'm not sure if this will be like a regular live stream on YT, since you need to have a ticket. Or do you think they will just send us a link to a private stream? That would be too easy to distribute online.
  11. I have to say that when I asked Mika last year to add a tour date in Central Europe, I wasn't exactly expecting a show at 9pm Central European Summer Time... I guess the next time I have to be a little more specific. But all jokes aside, it's been a while since we were buying tickets and looking forward to an event so it's quite exciting even though the occasion is a tragic one. However, Mika is a specialist in turning tragedies into art and doing the best out of a disastrous event. So I believe he will prepare something special and beautiful even under these circumstances.
  12. I don't doubt his ability to sing in all different languages at all. I was just thinking if the song Me, Myself could be in Spanish even though it sounds unlikely. Maybe they did two songs together? Well, I guess we will see...
  13. That's because it was hidden by @dcdeb. But it seems that at this point the news already got around anyway.
  14. According to this article, Mika is doing a live stream benefit concert for Beirut next month: Mika stages live stream benefit concert ‘I Love Beirut’ Mika announces the ‘I Love Beirut’ benefit concert, which will be performed on Saturday 19 September and will be live-streamed across four time zones via YouTube. Tickets cost £10 / $10 / €10 and will be available from Ticketmaster alongside the GoFundMe campaign, where people can make additional donations to the cause with 100% of all proceeds being split across Red Cross Lebanon and Save the Children Lebanon. Tickets go on sale at 9am BST / 10am CET on Monday 24 August. This intimate performance has been initiated by Lebanese born singer Mika after he was profoundly affected by the scale of devastation from the explosion in Beirut docks and its impact on the people of the city. Following on from his ‘Love Letter to Beirut’ (see note to editors below) which he wrote directly in the aftermath of the explosion. In an effort to do more he has created ‘I Love Beirut’, an event to raise funds to help those who have been affected by the devastating explosion. Mika comments: “After all the years of civil war, financial crisis and political upheaval, the news of the tragic explosion was unbelievable. Although far away, my heart broke for the families losing their homes, their livelihoods and their loved ones in this catastrophe. I wanted to do something to help in any small way I can. That is why I am staging a live stream concert in aid of the people of the city. Beirut has been through so much and the resilience and strength the Lebanese people is undeniable. I have no doubt that the city will recover and the unique life of this magical city will resume once again. Beirut is the place of my birth, is part of me and will always be in my heart. ‘I ❤️ Beirut’. The Lebanese United Nations team has reported the explosion was like 15 years of war in 15 seconds, comparing its impact to the devastation from the country's civil war that lasted from 1975 to 1990. Miles from the blast site apartments are wrecked and families left homeless. It's estimated 300,000 people do not have homes fit to live in, as Lebanon now has to undertake a single recovery effort of unprecedented scale. Hospitals in Beirut are now overrun with wounded people, with some being referred to Tripoli, 50 miles to the north of Beirut, for treatment. The destruction of Beirut’s port will devastate the country further as it relies heavily on imports for its essential supplies. Red Cross Lebanon and Save the Children Lebanon are working around the clock to help those on the ground affected by the blast. Donations will fund immediate emergency response and wider long-term rehabilitation. Donations to be made at: gofundme.com/ilovebeirut Tickets will be made available via Ticketmaster at 9am BST / 10am CET on Monday, 24 August Supporting images and video of Mika talking about the concert available here: we.tl/t-OFhmJeJLaY Concert live stream times around the world: Livestream #1 - UK & Ireland (8pm BST / IST) Livestream #2 – Europe (9pm CEST / 8pm BST) Livestream #3 - North America & Central/South America (6pm PDT / 9pm EDT) Livestream #4 - Australia, New Zealand and Asia (8pm AEST / 10pm NZST / 7pm JST and KST) (NB: Live stream in Australia / Asia ten to occur on the following day). https://www.music-news.com/news/Tickets/133855/Mika-stages-live-stream-benefit-concert-I-Love-Beirut Here's his invitation: https://youtu.be/hrb-u7H1_gY https://www.gofundme.com/f/ilovebeirut
  15. Do you think it will be the collab with Danna Paola? I'm confused because the song has an English title (if Me, Myself really is the official title) and it wasn't announced as a single yet, the rumour was it's "only" a track on her new album I think... So I'm not sure if the Spanish song is this one. On the other hand, it could be a Spanglish song as well, it's quite common to mix these two languages.
  16. There are quite a few translators in the fandom, it seems multilingualism is very common among Mika's fans.
  17. Nothing has happened yet but it's been "only" two weeks since I filled out the form so I'm still waiting for the money.
  18. Sounds good, I don't care about the cases so much so I really hope the characters get more space.
  19. I just started the first season this week on Netflix and – please don't hate me – I really like the characters but I find the cases a bit boring... Does the plot get more interesting with time?
  20. My phone just reminded me today that tomorrow I should leave for Verona... :crybaby:

My cancelled flight for tomorrow has been alrady refunded. At least no voucher for this one.

@Anna Ko Kolkowska I was going to take a bus or a train (but the bus was probably the cheapest option). However, I waited till May for the new schedule so then I didn't buy the ticket anymore. I just had to cancel my reservation for the B&B on booking.com but I didn't pay anything in advance.

  21. I got the answer from the European Consumer Centres Network and they confirmed that according to the article 183, paragraph 11, Law 17 July 2020, n.77, I should receive my money back if the concert is cancelled (without a new date) and I should fill the form on the website. So I did it even though it's very unclear what they mean by the refund now because a "reimbursement" still could be a voucher I guess... Well, let's see what happens.
  22. After hearing Dear Jealousy at Sephora once and Ice Cream at Zara a couple of months ago, today I've heard Tomorrow at Peek&Cloppenburg... I guess I should go shopping more often. :teehee: Fun fact: the last two times this happened to me I was wearing the tote bag from the Revelation Tour.
