Shawn Mendes fans may discover Grace Kelly now...
-
I'm in shock because of the bridge in Genova, me and my family used that bridge several times when we spent our summer in Liguria, our favourite region in Italy, the last time only a month ago... My mother always said the bridge is ugly and was afraid of passing it. I can't believe what happened...

@kreacher Yes, I agree, I mean, maybe it's his nickname in real life too, but he must know that there's already another famous singer using the name Mika, he could at least write himself as Mica or come up with something else, it's better to have an original brand name... I hope he doesn't want to take advantage of the name, some people can easily get confused because of it.

Just a little story... Today I went to a concert which was a part of Prague Pride. At the very beginning before the first performance they started to play Grace Kelly. I know, it's the most basic Mika song, but I was so happy to hear it. However, after the first seconds I realized it's a cover! It was so weird to hear Grace Kelly without Mika's voice. It was so disappointing...

@Maria :) It's also really rare here to hear another song than GK or Relax. This was in a clothing store too. I walked by it and I had to stop and listen to the end of the song. And I also found Mika's Pilot Pens at the supermarket. It's nice to "see" and hear Mika while shopping...

@Maria :) Good night!

Those little joys like watching a part of Mika's performance of Relax from last night and just after that spontaneously turning on the radio and hearing the first notes of Relax playing there... (I know it's not a big thing to hear Relax on the radio but in that moment it felt just magical. ❤️)

@Mikasister The first one is really on point, even the font is the same... Coincidence?
-
Maybe it's just me because nearly everything reminds me of something Mika-related but when I saw the dancers I just had to think about Blame It on the Girls for some reason...

@Boucarilla At the end of the month I'm going to see Michael's Jackson musical.

Wow @Mikasister! Amazing!!!

Don't know if there are any fans of P!ATD but what do you think of this cover?
I think he did a pretty good job!

Just a random story – I watched a video on YT called "Artists you may have forgotten about" where Mika was mentioned. Somebody commented on it, that Mika isn't forgotten because there's this commercial with that guy changing colourful costumes along with the car which pretty sure features a Mika song...

All they care about are people who break in US, anyway, when we see what MIKA was doing over the last years even if it's not about making new music he's a genius and an unforgateble talent who manages to renewable himself, he would like to be famous world while but it's about the big machine, female singers who appear every few years and so on.
I do think that MIKA succeeded to manage his career very well,
one of the amazing singers performers, Adam lambert, he's also in my opinion extremely underrated, so he's limiting his career touring with queen and as judge in australia

oops sorry, i stumbled in here accidentally 😳 Yeah he has lots of fans in other countries, but i worry a lot of them are stuck in the LICM days & never even hear he's put out new records. btw Mika actually did kinda write Happy Ending about homeless people. he explained it in a video i saw ages ago but now i forget which it was.
-
@kreacher I wasn't sure about that because on the radio station it sounds as if he would write it in LA as he was recording the album but I thought the song was older than that and they sometimes say untrue information in that show, a few days later they say Avril Lavigne released her debut album when she was 22 (she was 17) etc. But thank you for the clarification.

I wonder how all the fans are so talented in designing suits and now pens... Have you entered the last competition?

@Dominika I haven't designed any pen.
-
@Mikasister Sorry, I had to understand it wrong

This and the orchestra one are my favourite versions of Stardust...

@Dominika I really enjoyed the summerish atmosphere, the beautiful locations, the piano music in the background and in general the artistic, old-fashioned way it was made. Unfortunately it didn't hit me emotionally and it seemed a bit too long by the end... But overall a nice film, I liked it.

Today Pilot Pen CZ posted on FB a birthday competition – you should make a birthday card for their anniversary and in two weeks they'll choose 3 winners with the most original cards. However, they didn't mention what exactly the prizes are. I really hope you can win the gift packs as they promised me before on messenger because I'm going to create the best birthday card ever (and I'd be quite dissapointed if I'd realize I'm competing for anything else)...

Today I got the idea to create this kind of fan art... Well, it's not perfect, I wasn't even sure if I should share it here to be honest. Maybe I'll try again later to make a better version. But it's inspired by the song Hurts. It reminds me of the time when I was younger and most of my schoolmates hated me for no reason. They made fun of me and I was too shy to defend myself. They called me weird, stupid etc. and even though I didn't believe them, it felt exactly like this...like having these words pinned into the heart with knives.
I'm not even sure if anybody else can relate this to the song because it's quite personal. However, there's no other place to post it than here...

I always had the problem that I didn't really fit anywhere but fortunately I always had at least one good friend so I've never been completely alone... I'm really grateful for that. I'm not good at making friends but on the other hand it's better to have a few friends you can really trust and be yourself than a lot of fake friends.
-
I agree with you. I haven't got lots of friends but they are true. It's the most important.
I haven't got lots of friends because I want to stay natural, and many people don't accept people like that. It's sad... Now, we have to be like others. Fortunately, there are exceptions.

I asked my best friend (she is not a fan) if she could borrow me her customer card to a bookstore and stationery since I discovered they'll have 20 % off this weekend for customers having the card and they sell at least some of the Mika pens. She agreed so I sent her pictures of the pens I want. She found them beautiful and then she wrote we have to go to the shop together because now she wants them too...

@silver That's interesting, it seems they don't sell all types everywhere. Today I checked several shops in my country which offer the Mika pens and they all have just both FriXion pens and G2 pens but no V5.

It wasn't planned but i somehow started to (re-)watch all Mika concerts this Christmas. I watched Bercy again the night before Christmas and continued with Parc Des Princes yesterday, so I think it's time for Como today, that's maybe my favourite... What's yours?
